אם במחתרתא ישתכח גנבא ויתמחי וימות לית לה דם:

“If a man steals an ox or a sheep, and kills it or sells it, he shall pay five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep.

אם עינא דסהדיא נפלת עלוהי דמא לה שלמא ישלם אם לית לה ויזדבן בגנבתה:
am eyna dshdya nplth elwhy dma lh shlma yshlm am lyth lh wyzdbn bgnbthh
If the thief is found breaking in, and is struck so that he dies, there shall be no guilt of bloodshed for him.

אם אשתכחא ישתכח בידה גנבתא מתור עד חמר עד אמר כד אנון חיין על חד תרין ישלם:
am ashthkkha yshthkkh bydh gnbtha mthwr ed khmr ed amr kd anwn khyyn el khd thryn yshlm
If the sun has risen on him, he is guilty of bloodshed. He shall make restitution. If he has nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft.

ארי יאכיל גבר חקל או כרם וישלח ית בעירה וייכול בחקל אחרן שפר חקלה ושפר כרמה ישלם:
ary yakyl gbr khql aw krm wyshlkh yth beyrh wyykwl bkhql akhrn shpr khqlh wshpr krmh yshlm
If the stolen property is found in his hand alive, whether it is ox, donkey, or sheep, he shall pay double.

ארי תתפק נור וישכח כובין וייכול גדישין או קמא או חקלא שלמא ישלם דאדלק ית דלקתא:
ary ththpq nwr wyshkkh kwbyn wyykwl gdyshyn aw qma aw khqla shlma yshlm dadlq yth dlqtha
“If a man causes a field or vineyard to be eaten by letting his animal loose, and it grazes in another man’s field, he shall make restitution from the best of his own field, and from the best of his own vineyard.

ארי יתן גבר לחברה כסף או מנין למטר ויתגנבון מבית גברא אם ישתכח גנבא ישלם על חד תרין:
ary ythn gbr lkhbrh ksp aw mnyn lmTr wythgnbwn mbyth gbra am yshthkkh gnba yshlm el khd thryn
“If fire breaks out, and catches in thorns so that the shocks of grain, or the standing grain, or the field are consumed; he who kindled the fire shall surely make restitution.

אם לא ישתכח גנבא ויתקרב מרי דביתא לקדם דיניא אם לא אושיט ידה במא דמסר לה חברה:
am la yshthkkh gnba wythqrb mry dbytha lqdm dynya am la awshyT ydh bma dmsr lh khbrh
“If a man delivers to his neighbor money or stuff to keep, and it is stolen out of the man’s house, if the thief is found, he shall pay double.

על כל פתגם דחוב על תור על חמר על אמר על כסו על כל אבדתא די יימר ארי הוא דין לקדם דיניא ייעול דין תרויהון די יחיבון דיניא ישלם על חד תרין לחברה:
el kl pthgm dkhwb el thwr el khmr el amr el ksw el kl abdtha dy yymr ary hwa dyn lqdm dynya yyewl dyn thrwyhwn dy ykhybwn dynya yshlm el khd thryn lkhbrh
If the thief isn’t found, then the master of the house shall come near to God, to find out whether or not he has put his hand on his neighbor’s goods.

ארי יתן גבר לחברה חמר או תור או אמר וכל בעירא למטר ומית או אתבר או אשתבי לית דחזי:
ary ythn gbr lkhbrh khmr aw thwr aw amr wkl beyra lmTr wmyth aw athbr aw ashthby lyth dkhzy
For every matter of trespass, whether it is for ox, for donkey, for sheep, for clothing, or for any kind of lost thing, about which one says, ‘This is mine,’ the cause of both parties shall come before God. He whom God condemns shall pay double to his neighbor.

מומתא דיי תהי בין תרויהון אם לא אושיט ידה במא דמסר לה חברה ויקבל מרה מנה מומתא ולא ישלם:
mwmtha dyy thhy byn thrwyhwn am la awshyT ydh bma dmsr lh khbrh wyqbl mrh mnh mwmtha wla yshlm
“If a man delivers to his neighbor a donkey, an ox, a sheep, or any animal to keep, and it dies or is injured, or driven away, no man seeing it;

ואם אתגנבא יתגנב מעמה ישלם למרוהי:
wam athgnba ythgnb memh yshlm lmrwhy
the oath of Yahweh shall be between them both, he has not put his hand on his neighbor’s goods; and its owner shall accept it, and he shall not make restitution.

אם אתברא יתבר ייתי סהדין דתבירא לא ישלם:
am athbra ythbr yythy shdyn dthbyra la yshlm
But if it is stolen from him, the one who stole shall make restitution to its owner.

וארי ישאל גבר מן חברה ויתבר או מית מרה לית עמה שלמא ישלם:
wary yshal gbr mn khbrh wythbr aw myth mrh lyth emh shlma yshlm
If it is torn in pieces, let him bring it for evidence. He shall not make good that which was torn.

אם מרה עמה לא ישלם אם אגירא הוא על באגרה:
am mrh emh la yshlm am agyra hwa el bagrh
“If a man borrows anything of his neighbor’s, and it is injured, or dies, its owner not being with it, he shall surely make restitution.

וארי ישדל גבר בתלתא די לא מארסא וישכוב עמה קימא יקימנה לה לאנתו:
wary yshdl gbr bthltha dy la marsa wyshkwb emh qyma yqymnh lh lanthw
If its owner is with it, he shall not make it good. If it is a leased thing, it came for its lease.

אם מצבא לא יצבי אבוהא למתנה לה כספא יתקול כמוהרי בתלתא:
am mtsba la ytsby abwha lmthnh lh kspa ythqwl kmwhry bthltha
“If a man entices a virgin who isn’t pledged to be married, and lies with her, he shall surely pay a dowry for her to be his wife.

חרשא לא תחי:
khrsha la thkhy
If her father utterly refuses to give her to him, he shall pay money according to the dowry of virgins.
18
כל דישכוב עם בעירא אתקטלא יתקטל:
kl dyshkwb em beyra athqTla ythqTl
“You shall not allow a sorceress to live.

דדבח לטעות עממיא יתקטל אלהן לשמא דיי בלחודוהי:
ddbkh lTewth emmya ythqTl alhn lshma dyy blkhwdwhy
“Whoever has sex with an animal shall surely be put to death.
20
וגיורא לא תונון ולא תעיקון לה ארי דירין הויתון בארעא דמצרים:
wgywra la thwnwn wla theyqwn lh ary dyryn hwythwn barea dmtsrym
“He who sacrifices to any god, except to Yahweh only, shall be utterly destroyed.
21
כל ארמלא ויתם לא תענון:
kl armla wythm la thenwn
“You shall not wrong an alien or oppress him, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt.
22
אם ענאה תעני יתה ארי אם מקבל יקבל קדמי קבלא אקבל קבלתה:
am enah theny ythh ary am mqbl yqbl qdmy qbla aqbl qblthh
“You shall not take advantage of any widow or fatherless child.
23
ויתקף רוגזי ואקטול יתכון בחרבא ויהוין נשיכון ארמלין ובניכון יתמין:
wythqp rwgzy waqTwl ythkwn bkhrba wyhwyn nshykwn armlyn wbnykwn ythmyn
If you take advantage of them at all, and they cry at all to me, I will surely hear their cry;

אם כספא תוזף בעמי לעניא די עמך לא תהי לה כרשיא לא תשוון עלוהי חבוליא:
am kspa thwzp bemy lenya dy emk la thhy lh krshya la thshwwn elwhy khbwlya
and my wrath will grow hot, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.

אם משכונא תסב כסותא דחברך עד מעל שמשא תתיבנה לה:
am mshkwna thsb kswtha dkhbrk ed mel shmsha ththybnh lh
“If you lend money to any of my people with you who is poor, you shall not be to him as a creditor. You shall not charge him interest.

ארי היא כסותה בלחודה היא תותבה למשכיה במא ישכוב ויהי ארי יקבל קדמי ואקבל קבלתה ארי חננא אנא:
ary hya kswthh blkhwdh hya thwthbh lmshkyh bma yshkwb wyhy ary yqbl qdmy waqbl qblthh ary khnna ana
If you take your neighbor’s garment as collateral, you shall restore it to him before the sun goes down,

דינא לא תקיל ורבא בעמך לא תלוט:
dyna la thqyl wrba bemk la thlwT
for that is his only covering, it is his garment for his skin. What would he sleep in? It will happen, when he cries to me, that I will hear, for I am gracious.
28
בכורך ודמעך לא תאחר בוכרא דבניך תפרש קדמי:
bkwrk wdmek la thakhr bwkra dbnyk thprsh qdmy
“You shall not blaspheme God, nor curse a ruler of your people.

כן תעבד לתורך לענך שבעא יומין יהי עם אמה ביומא תמינאה תפרשנה קדמי:
kn thebd lthwrk lenk shbea ywmyn yhy em amh bywma thmynah thprshnh qdmy
“You shall not delay to offer from your harvest and from the outflow of your presses. “You shall give the firstborn of your sons to me.

ואנשין קדישין תהון קדמי ובשר תליש מן חיוא חיתא לא תיכלון לכלבא תרמון יתה:
wanshyn qdyshyn thhwn qdmy wbshr thlysh mn khywa khytha la thyklwn lklba thrmwn ythh
You shall do likewise with your cattle and with your sheep. It shall be with its mother seven days, then on the eighth day you shall give it to me.
