ואלין דיניא די תסדר קדמיהון:
walyn dynya dy thsdr qdmyhwn
“Now these are the ordinances which you shall set before them:

ארי תזבן עבדא בר ישראל שת שנין יפלח ובשביעתא יפוק לבר חורין מגן:
ary thzbn ebda br yshral shth shnyn yplkh wbshbyetha ypwq lbr khwryn mgn
“If you buy a Hebrew servant, he shall serve six years, and in the seventh he shall go out free without paying anything.

אם בלחודוהי ייעול בלחודוהי יפוק אם בעל אתתא הוא ותפוק אתתה עמה:
am blkhwdwhy yyewl blkhwdwhy ypwq am bel aththa hwa wthpwq aththh emh
If he comes in by himself, he shall go out by himself. If he is married, then his wife shall go out with him.

אם רבונה יתן לה אתתא ותליד לה בנין או בנן אתתא ובנהא תהי לרבונהא והוא יפוק בלחודוהי:
am rbwnh ythn lh aththa wthlyd lh bnyn aw bnn aththa wbnha thhy lrbwnha whwa ypwq blkhwdwhy
If his master gives him a wife and she bears him sons or daughters, the wife and her children shall be her master’s, and he shall go out by himself.

ואם מימר יימר עבדא רחימנא ית רבוני ית אתתי וית בני לא אפוק לבר חורין:
wam mymr yymr ebda rkhymna yth rbwny yth aththy wyth bny la apwq lbr khwryn
But if the servant shall plainly say, ‘I love my master, my wife, and my children. I will not go out free;’

ויקרבנה רבונה לקדם דיניא ויקרבנה לות דשא או לות מזזתא וירצע רבונה ית אודנה במרצעא ויהי לה עבד פלח לעלם:
wyqrbnh rbwnh lqdm dynya wyqrbnh lwth dsha aw lwth mzztha wyrtse rbwnh yth awdnh bmrtsea wyhy lh ebd plkh lelm
then his master shall bring him to God, and shall bring him to the door or to the doorpost, and his master shall bore his ear through with an awl, and he shall serve him forever.

וארי יזבן גבר ית ברתה לאמהו לא תפוק כמפקנות עבדיא:
wary yzbn gbr yth brthh lamhw la thpwq kmpqnwth ebdya
“If a man sells his daughter to be a female servant, she shall not go out as the male servants do.

אם בישא בעיני רבונה דיקימה לה ויפרקנה לגבר אחרן לית לה רשו לזבונה במשלטה בה:
am bysha beyny rbwnh dyqymh lh wyprqnh lgbr akhrn lyth lh rshw lzbwnh bmshlTh bh
If she doesn’t please her master, who has married her to himself, then he shall let her be redeemed. He shall have no right to sell her to a foreign people, since he has dealt deceitfully with her.

ואם לברה יקימנה כהלכת בנת ישראל יעבד לה:
wam lbrh yqymnh khlkth bnth yshral yebd lh
If he marries her to his son, he shall deal with her as a daughter.
10
אם אחרנתא יסב לה זיונה כסותה ועונתה לא ימנע:
am akhrntha ysb lh zywnh kswthh wewnthh la ymne
If he takes another wife to himself, he shall not diminish her food, her clothing, and her marital rights.
11
ואם תלת אלין לא יעבד לה ותפוק מגן בלא כסף:
wam thlth alyn la yebd lh wthpwq mgn bla ksp
If he doesn’t do these three things for her, she may go free without paying any money.

דימחי לאנש ויקטלנה אתקטלא יתקטל:
dymkhy lansh wyqTlnh athqTla ythqTl
“One who strikes a man so that he dies shall surely be put to death,

ודלא כמן לה ומן קדם יי אתמסר לידה ואשוי לך אתר די יערוק לתמן:
wdla kmn lh wmn qdm yy athmsr lydh washwy lk athr dy yerwq lthmn
but not if it is unintentional, but God allows it to happen; then I will appoint you a place where he shall flee.

וארי ירשע גבר על חברה למקטלה בנכילו מן מדבחי תדברנה לממת:
wary yrshe gbr el khbrh lmqTlh bnkylw mn mdbkhy thdbrnh lmmth
If a man schemes and comes presumptuously on his neighbor to kill him, you shall take him from my altar, that he may die.

ודימחי אבוהי ואמה אתקטלא יתקטל:
wdymkhy abwhy wamh athqTla ythqTl
“Anyone who attacks his father or his mother shall be surely put to death.
16
ודיגנוב נפשא מן בני ישראל ויזבננה וישתכח בידה אתקטלא יתקטל:
wdygnwb npsha mn bny yshral wyzbnnh wyshthkkh bydh athqTla ythqTl
“Anyone who kidnaps someone and sells him, or if he is found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.

ודילוט אבוהי ואמה אתקטלא יתקטל:
wdylwT abwhy wamh athqTla ythqTl
“Anyone who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death.
18
וארי ינצון גברין וימחי גבר ית חברה באבנא או בכורמיזא ולא ימות ויפול לבוטלן:
wary yntswn gbryn wymkhy gbr yth khbrh babna aw bkwrmyza wla ymwth wypwl lbwTln
“If men quarrel and one strikes the other with a stone, or with his fist, and he doesn’t die, but is confined to bed;

אם יקום ויהליך בברא על בוריה ויהי זכאה מחיא לחוד בוטלנה יתן ואגר אסיא ישלם:
am yqwm wyhlyk bbra el bwryh wyhy zkah mkhya lkhwd bwTlnh ythn wagr asya yshlm
if he rises again and walks around with his staff, then he who struck him shall be cleared; only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall provide for his healing until he is thoroughly healed.
20
וארי ימחי גבר ית עבדה או ית אמתה בשלטן וימות תחות ידה אתדנא יתדן:
wary ymkhy gbr yth ebdh aw yth amthh bshlTn wymwth thkhwth ydh athdna ythdn
“If a man strikes his servant or his maid with a rod, and he dies under his hand, the man shall surely be punished.

ברם אם יומא או תרין יומין יתקים לא יתדן ארי כספה הוא:
brm am ywma aw thryn ywmyn ythqym la ythdn ary ksph hwa
Notwithstanding, if his servant gets up after a day or two, he shall not be punished, for the servant is his property.
22
וארי ינצון גברין וימחון אתתא מעדיא ויפקון ולדהא ולא יהי מותא אתגבאה יתגבי כמא די ישוי עלוהי בעלה דאתתא ויתן על מימר דיניא:
wary yntswn gbryn wymkhwn aththa medya wypqwn wldha wla yhy mwtha athgbah ythgby kma dy yshwy elwhy belh daththa wythn el mymr dynya
“If men fight and hurt a pregnant woman so that she gives birth prematurely, and yet no harm follows, he shall be surely fined as much as the woman’s husband demands and the judges allow.

ואם מותא יהא ותתן נפשא חלף נפשא:
wam mwtha yha wththn npsha khlp npsha
But if any harm follows, then you must take life for life,
24
עינא חלף עינא שנא חלף שנא ידא חלף ידא רגלא חלף רגלא:
eyna khlp eyna shna khlp shna yda khlp yda rgla khlp rgla
eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,
25
כואה חלף כואה פדעא חלף פדעא משקופי חלף משקופי:
kwah khlp kwah pdea khlp pdea mshqwpy khlp mshqwpy
burning for burning, wound for wound, and bruise for bruise.
26
וארי ימחי גבר ית עינא דעבדה או ית עינא דאמתה ויחבלנה לבר חורין יפטרנה חלף עינה:
wary ymkhy gbr yth eyna debdh aw yth eyna damthh wykhblnh lbr khwryn ypTrnh khlp eynh
“If a man strikes his servant’s eye, or his maid’s eye, and destroys it, he shall let him go free for his eye’s sake.
27
ואם שנא דעבדה או שנא דאמתה יפל לבר חורין יפטרנה חלף שנה:
wam shna debdh aw shna damthh ypl lbr khwryn ypTrnh khlp shnh
If he strikes out his male servant’s tooth, or his female servant’s tooth, he shall let the servant go free for his tooth’s sake.
28
וארי יגח תורא ית גברא או ית אתתא וימות אתרגמא יתרגם תורא ולא יתאכל ית בסרה ומרה דתורא יהי זכאה:
wary ygkh thwra yth gbra aw yth aththa wymwth athrgma ythrgm thwra wla ythakl yth bsrh wmrh dthwra yhy zkah
“If a bull gores a man or a woman to death, the bull shall surely be stoned, and its meat shall not be eaten; but the owner of the bull shall not be held responsible.
29
ואם תור נגח הוא מאתמלי ומדקמוהי ויתסהד במרה ולא נטרה ויקטול גברא או אתתא תורא יתרגם ואף מרה יתקטל:
wam thwr ngkh hwa mathmly wmdqmwhy wythshd bmrh wla nTrh wyqTwl gbra aw aththa thwra ythrgm wap mrh ythqTl
But if the bull had a habit of goring in the past, and this has been testified to its owner, and he has not kept it in, but it has killed a man or a woman, the bull shall be stoned, and its owner shall also be put to death.
30
אם ממון ישוון עלוהי ויתן פורקן נפשה ככל די ישוון עלוהי:
am mmwn yshwwn elwhy wythn pwrqn npshh kkl dy yshwwn elwhy
If a ransom is imposed on him, then he shall give for the redemption of his life whatever is imposed.
31
או לבר ישראל יגח תורא או לבת ישראל יגח כדינא הדין יתעבד לה:
aw lbr yshral ygkh thwra aw lbth yshral ygkh kdyna hdyn ythebd lh
Whether it has gored a son or has gored a daughter, according to this judgment it shall be done to him.
32
אם לעבדא יגח תורא או לאמתא כסף תלתין סלעין יתן לרבונה ותורא יתרגם:
am lebda ygkh thwra aw lamtha ksp thlthyn sleyn ythn lrbwnh wthwra ythrgm
If the bull gores a male servant or a female servant, thirty shekels of silver shall be given to their master, and the ox shall be stoned.
33
וארי יפתח גבר גוב או ארי יכרה גבר גוב ולא יכסנה ויפל תמן תורא או חמרא:
wary ypthkh gbr gwb aw ary ykrh gbr gwb wla yksnh wypl thmn thwra aw khmra
“If a man opens a pit, or if a man digs a pit and doesn’t cover it, and a bull or a donkey falls into it,

מרי דגבא ישלם כספא יתיב למרוהי ומיתא יהי דילה:
mry dgba yshlm kspa ythyb lmrwhy wmytha yhy dylh
the owner of the pit shall make it good. He shall give money to its owner, and the dead animal shall be his.
35
וארי יגוף תור דגבר ית תורא דחברה וימות ויזבנון ית תורא חיא ויפלגון ית כספה ואף ית דמי מיתא יפלגון:
wary ygwp thwr dgbr yth thwra dkhbrh wymwth wyzbnwn yth thwra khya wyplgwn yth ksph wap yth dmy mytha yplgwn
“If one man’s bull injures another’s, so that it dies, then they shall sell the live bull, and divide its price; and they shall also divide the dead animal.
36
או אתידע ארי תור נגח הוא מאתמלי ומדקמוהי ולא נטרה מרה שלמא ישלם תורא חלף תורא ומיתא יהא דילה:
aw athyde ary thwr ngkh hwa mathmly wmdqmwhy wla nTrh mrh shlma yshlm thwra khlp thwra wmytha yha dylh
Or if it is known that the bull was in the habit of goring in the past, and its owner has not kept it in, he shall surely pay bull for bull, and the dead animal shall be his own.
37
ארי יגנוב גבר תור או אמר ויכסנה או יזבננה חמשא תורין ישלם חלף תורא וארבע ענא חלף אמרא:
