ונטלו כל כנשתא דבני ישראל ממדברא דסין למטלניהון על מימרא דיי ושרו ברפידים ולית מיא למשתי עמא:
wnTlw kl knshtha dbny yshral mmdbra dsyn lmTlnyhwn el mymra dyy wshrw brpydym wlyth mya lmshthy ema
All the congregation of the children of Israel traveled from the wilderness of Sin, starting according to Yahweh’s commandment, and encamped in Rephidim; but there was no water for the people to drink.

ונצא עמא עם משה ואמרו הבו לנא מיא ונשתי ואמר להון משה מה אתון נצן עמי מה מנסון אתון קדם יי:
wntsa ema em mshh wamrw hbw lna mya wnshthy wamr lhwn mshh mh athwn ntsn emy mh mnswn athwn qdm yy
Therefore the people quarreled with Moses, and said, “Give us water to drink.” Moses said to them, “Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you test Yahweh?”

וצחי תמן עמא למיא ואתרעם עמא על משה ואמר למא דנן אסקתנא ממצרים לקטלא יתי וית בני וית בעירי בצחותא:

The people were thirsty for water there; so the people murmured against Moses, and said, “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us, our children, and our livestock with thirst?”

וצלי משה קדם יי למימר מא אעבד לעמא הדין עוד זעיר פון וירגמנני:
wtsly mshh qdm yy lmymr ma aebd lema hdyn ewd zeyr pwn wyrgmnny
Moses cried to Yahweh, saying, “What shall I do with these people? They are almost ready to stone me.”

ואמר יי למשה עבר קדם עמא ודבר עמך מסבי ישראל וחטרך די מחיתא בה ית נהרא סב בידך ותיזל:
wamr yy lmshh ebr qdm ema wdbr emk msby yshral wkhTrk dy mkhytha bh yth nhra sb bydk wthyzl
Yahweh said to Moses, “Walk on before the people, and take the elders of Israel with you, and take the rod in your hand with which you struck the Nile, and go.

הא אנא קאם קדמך תמן על טנרא בחורב ותמחי בטנרא ויפקון מנה מיא וישתי עמא ועבד כן משה לעיני סבי ישראל:
ha ana qam qdmk thmn el Tnra bkhwrb wthmkhy bTnra wypqwn mnh mya wyshthy ema webd kn mshh leyny sby yshral
Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock in Horeb. You shall strike the rock, and water will come out of it, that the people may drink.” Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.

וקרא שמא דאתרא נסיתא ומצותא על דנצו בני ישראל ועל דנסיאו קדם יי למימר האית שכינתא דיי ביננא אם לא:
wqra shma dathra nsytha wmtswtha el dntsw bny yshral wel dnsyaw qdm yy lmymr hayth shkyntha dyy bynna am la
He called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because the children of Israel quarreled, and because they tested Yahweh, saying, “Is Yahweh among us, or not?”

ואתא עמלק ואגח קרבא עם ישראל ברפידם:
watha emlq wagkh qrba em yshral brpydm
Then Amalek came and fought with Israel in Rephidim.

ואמר משה ליהושע בחר לנא גברין ופוק אגח קרבא בעמלק מחר אנא קאם על ריש רמתא וחוטרא דאתעבידו בה נסין מן קדם יי בידי:
wamr mshh lyhwshe bkhr lna gbryn wpwq agkh qrba bemlq mkhr ana qam el rysh rmtha wkhwTra dathebydw bh nsyn mn qdm yy bydy
Moses said to Joshua, “Choose men for us, and go out to fight with Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with God’s rod in my hand.”

ועבד יהושע כמא דאמר לה משה לאגחא קרבא בעמלק ומשה אהרן וחור סליקו לריש רמתא:
webd yhwshe kma damr lh mshh lagkha qrba bemlq wmshh ahrn wkhwr slyqw lrysh rmtha
So Joshua did as Moses had told him, and fought with Amalek; and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill.

והוא כד מרים משה ידוהי ומתגברין דבית ישראל וכד מנח ידוהי ומתגברין דבית עמלק:
whwa kd mrym mshh ydwhy wmthgbryn dbyth yshral wkd mnkh ydwhy wmthgbryn dbyth emlq
When Moses held up his hand, Israel prevailed. When he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.

וידי משה יקרן ונסיבו אבנא ושויאו תחותוהי ויתב עלה ואהרן וחור סעדן בידוהי מכא חד ומכא חד והוה ידוהי פריסן בצלו עד דעל שמשא:

But Moses’ hands were heavy; so they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side. His hands were steady until sunset.

ותבר יהושע ית עמלק וית עמה לפתגם דחרב:
wthbr yhwshe yth emlq wyth emh lpthgm dkhrb
Joshua defeated Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.

ואמר יי למשה כתב דא דוכרנא בספרא ושוי קדם יהושע ארי ממחא אמחי ית דוכרנא דעמלק מתחות שמיא:
wamr yy lmshh kthb da dwkrna bspra wshwy qdm yhwshe ary mmkha amkhy yth dwkrna demlq mthkhwth shmya
Yahweh said to Moses, “Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: that I will utterly blot out the memory of Amalek from under the sky.”

ובנא משה מדבחא ופלח עלוהי קדם יי דעבד לה נסין:
wbna mshh mdbkha wplkh elwhy qdm yy debd lh nsyn
Moses built an altar, and called its name “Yahweh our Banner”.

ואמר בשבועה אמירא דא מן קדם דחילא דשכנתה על כרסה יקרה דעתיד דיתגח קרבא קדם יי בדבית עמלק לשציותהון מדרי עלמא:
wamr bshbweh amyra da mn qdm dkhyla dshknthh el krsh yqrh dethyd dythgkh qrba qdm yy bdbyth emlq lshtsywthhwn mdry elma
He said, “Yah has sworn: ‘Yahweh will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.’”
