בכן שבח משה ובני ישראל ית תשבחתא הדא קדם יי ואמרו למימר נשבח ונודי קדם יי ארי אתגאי על גותניא וגאותא דילה היא סוסיא ורכבה רמא בימא:
bkn shbkh mshh wbny yshral yth thshbkhtha hda qdm yy wamrw lmymr nshbkh wnwdy qdm yy ary athgay el gwthnya wgawtha dylh hya swsya wrkbh rma byma
Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to Yahweh, and said, “I will sing to Yahweh, for he has triumphed gloriously. He has thrown the horse and his rider into the sea.

תקפי ותשבחתי דחילא יי ואמר במימרה והוה לי לפרק דין אלהי ואבני לה מקדשא אלהא דאבהתי ואפלח קדמוהי:
thqpy wthshbkhthy dkhyla yy wamr bmymrh whwh ly lprq dyn alhy wabny lh mqdsha alha dabhthy waplkh qdmwhy
Yah is my strength and song. He has become my salvation. This is my God, and I will praise him; my father’s God, and I will exalt him.

יי מרי נצחן קרביא יי שמה:
yy mry ntskhn qrbya yy shmh
Yahweh is a man of war. Yahweh is his name.

רתכי פרעה ומשריתה שדי בימא ושפר גברוהי אטבעו בימא דסוף:
rthky preh wmshrythh shdy byma wshpr gbrwhy aTbew byma dswp
He has cast Pharaoh’s chariots and his army into the sea. His chosen captains are sunk in the Red Sea.

תהומיא חפו עליהון נחתו לעומקיא כאבנא:
thhwmya khpw elyhwn nkhthw lewmqya kabna
The deeps cover them. They went down into the depths like a stone.

ימינך יי אדירא בחילא ימינך יי תברת סנאה:
ymynk yy adyra bkhyla ymynk yy thbrth snah
Your right hand, Yahweh, is glorious in power. Your right hand, Yahweh, dashes the enemy in pieces.

ובסגי תקפך תברתנון לדקמו על עמך שלחת רוגזך שיציתינון כנורא לקשא:
wbsgy thqpk thbrthnwn ldqmw el emk shlkhth rwgzk shytsythynwn knwra lqsha
In the greatness of your excellency, you overthrow those who rise up against you. You send out your wrath. It consumes them as stubble.

ובמימר פומך חכימו מיא קמו כשור אזליא קפו תהומין בלבא דימא:
wbmymr pwmk khkymw mya qmw kshwr azlya qpw thhwmyn blba dyma
With the blast of your nostrils, the waters were piled up. The floods stood upright as a heap. The deeps were congealed in the heart of the sea.

דהוה אמר סנאה ארדוף אדבק אפלג בזתא תשבע מנהון נפשי אשלוף חרבי תשיצינון ידי:
dhwh amr snah ardwp adbq aplg bztha thshbe mnhwn npshy ashlwp khrby thshytsynwn ydy
The enemy said, ‘I will pursue. I will overtake. I will divide the plunder. My desire will be satisfied on them. I will draw my sword. My hand will destroy them.’

אמרת במימרך חפא עליהון ימא אשתקעו כאברא במין תקיפין:
amrth bmymrk khpa elyhwn yma ashthqew kabra bmyn thqypyn
You blew with your wind. The sea covered them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters.

לית בר מנך דאת הוא אלהא יי לית בר מנך אלהא את אדיר בקודשא דחל תשבחן עבד פרישן:
lyth br mnk dath hwa alha yy lyth br mnk alha ath adyr bqwdsha dkhl thshbkhn ebd pryshn
Who is like you, Yahweh, among the gods? Who is like you, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?

ארמת ימינך בלעתנון ארעא:
armth ymynk blethnwn area
You stretched out your right hand. The earth swallowed them.
13
דברהי בטבותך עמא דנן דפרקת סוברהי בתקפך לדירא דקדשך:
dbrhy bTbwthk ema dnn dprqth swbrhy bthqpk ldyra dqdshk
“You, in your loving kindness, have led the people that you have redeemed. You have guided them in your strength to your holy habitation.

שמעו עממיא וזעו דחלא אחדתנון לדהוו יתבין בפלשת:
shmew emmya wzew dkhla akhdthnwn ldhww ythbyn bplshth
The peoples have heard. They tremble. Pangs have taken hold of the inhabitants of Philistia.

בכן אתבהילו רברבי אדום תקיפי מואב אחדתנון רתיתא אתברו כל דהוו יתבין בכנען:
bkn athbhylw rbrby adwm thqypy mwab akhdthnwn rthytha athbrw kl dhww ythbyn bknen
Then the chiefs of Edom were dismayed. Trembling takes hold of the mighty men of Moab. All the inhabitants of Canaan have melted away.

תפיל עליהון אימתא ודחלתא בסגי תקפך ישתקון כאבנא עד דיעבר עמך יי ית ארנונא עד דיעבר עמא דנן די פרקתא ית ירדנא:
thpyl elyhwn aymtha wdkhltha bsgy thqpk yshthqwn kabna ed dyebr emk yy yth arnwna ed dyebr ema dnn dy prqtha yth yrdna
Terror and dread falls on them. By the greatness of your arm they are as still as a stone, until your people pass over, Yahweh, until the people you have purchased pass over.

תעלנון ותשרינון בטורא דאחסנתך אתר מתקן לבית שכנתך אתקנתא יי מקדשא יי אתקנוהי ידיך:
thelnwn wthshrynwn bTwra dakhsnthk athr mthqn lbyth shknthk athqntha yy mqdsha yy athqnwhy ydyk
You will bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of your inheritance, the place, Yahweh, which you have made for yourself to dwell in: the sanctuary, Lord, which your hands have established.

יי מלכותה קאם לעלם ולעלמי עלמיא:
yy mlkwthh qam lelm wlelmy elmya
Yahweh will reign forever and ever.”

ארי על סוסות פרעה ברתכוהי ובפרשוהי בימא ואתיב יי עליהון ית מי ימא ובני ישראל הליכו ביבשתא בגו ימא:
ary el swswth preh brthkwhy wbprshwhy byma wathyb yy elyhwn yth my yma wbny yshral hlykw bybshtha bgw yma
For the horses of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, and Yahweh brought back the waters of the sea on them; but the children of Israel walked on dry land in the middle of the sea.

ונסיבת מרים נביאתא אחתה דאהרן ית תפא בידה ונפקו כל נשיא בתרהא בתפין ובחנגין:
wnsybth mrym nbyatha akhthh dahrn yth thpa bydh wnpqw kl nshya bthrha bthpyn wbkhngyn
Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a tambourine in her hand; and all the women went out after her with tambourines and with dances.

ומעניא להן מרים שבחו ואודו קדם יי ארי אתגאי על גותניא וגאותא דילה היא סוסיא ורכבה רמא בימא:
wmenya lhn mrym shbkhw wawdw qdm yy ary athgay el gwthnya wgawtha dylh hya swsya wrkbh rma byma
Miriam answered them, “Sing to Yahweh, for he has triumphed gloriously. He has thrown the horse and his rider into the sea.”

ואטל משה ית ישראל מימא דסוף ונפקו למדברא דחגרא ואזלו תלתא יומין במדברא ולא אשכחו מיא:
waTl mshh yth yshral myma dswp wnpqw lmdbra dkhgra wazlw thltha ywmyn bmdbra wla ashkkhw mya
Moses led Israel onward from the Red Sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water.

ואתו למרה ולא יכילו למשתי מיא ממרה ארי מרירין אנון על כן קרא שמה מרה:
wathw lmrh wla ykylw lmshthy mya mmrh ary mryryn anwn el kn qra shmh mrh
When they came to Marah, they couldn’t drink from the waters of Marah, for they were bitter. Therefore its name was called Marah.

ואתרעמו עמא על משה למימר מה נשתי:
wathremw ema el mshh lmymr mh nshthy
The people murmured against Moses, saying, “What shall we drink?”
25
וצלי קדם יי ואלפה יי אעא ורמא למיא ובסימו מיא תמן גזר לה קים ודין ותמן נסיה:
wtsly qdm yy walph yy aea wrma lmya wbsymw mya thmn gzr lh qym wdyn wthmn nsyh
Then he cried to Yahweh. Yahweh showed him a tree, and he threw it into the waters, and the waters were made sweet. There he made a statute and an ordinance for them, and there he tested them.

ואמר אם קבלא תקבל למימרא דיי אלהך ודכשר קדמוהי תעבד ותצית לפקודוהי ותטר כל קימוהי כל מרעין די שויתי במצרים לא אשוי עלך ארי אנא יי אסך:
wamr am qbla thqbl lmymra dyy alhk wdkshr qdmwhy thebd wthtsyth lpqwdwhy wthTr kl qymwhy kl mreyn dy shwythy bmtsrym la ashwy elk ary ana yy ask
He said, “If you will diligently listen to Yahweh your God’s voice, and will do that which is right in his eyes, and will pay attention to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have put on the Egyptians; for I am Yahweh who heals you.”

ואתו לאילם ותמן תרי עסר מבועין דמין ושבעין דקלין ושרו תמן על מיא:
wathw laylm wthmn thry esr mbweyn dmyn wshbeyn dqlyn wshrw thmn el mya
They came to Elim, where there were twelve springs of water and seventy palm trees. They encamped there by the waters.
