ואמר יי למשה ולאהרן בארעא דמצרים למימר:
wamr yy lmshh wlahrn barea dmtsrym lmymr
Yahweh spoke to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying,

ירחא הדין לכון ריש ירחין קדמאי הוא לכון לירחי שתא:
yrkha hdyn lkwn rysh yrkhyn qdmay hwa lkwn lyrkhy shtha
“This month shall be to you the beginning of months. It shall be the first month of the year to you.

מלילו עם כל כנשתא דישראל למימר בעסרא לירחא הדין ויסבון להון גבר אמר לבית אבא אמר לביתא:
mlylw em kl knshtha dyshral lmymr besra lyrkha hdyn wysbwn lhwn gbr amr lbyth aba amr lbytha
Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying, ‘On the tenth day of this month, they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to their fathers’ houses, a lamb for a household;

ואם יזעיר ביתא מלאתמנאה על אמרא ויסב הוא ושיבבה דקריב לביתה במנין נפשתא גבר לפום מיכלה תתמנון על אמרא:
wam yzeyr bytha mlathmnah el amra wysb hwa wshybbh dqryb lbythh bmnyn npshtha gbr lpwm myklh ththmnwn el amra
and if the household is too little for a lamb, then he and his neighbor next to his house shall take one according to the number of the souls. You shall make your count for the lamb according to what everyone can eat.

אמר שלים דכר בר שתה יהי לכון מן אמריא ומן עזיא תסבון:
amr shlym dkr br shthh yhy lkwn mn amrya wmn ezya thsbwn
Your lamb shall be without defect, a male a year old. You shall take it from the sheep or from the goats.

ויהי לכון למטרא עד ארבעא עסרא יומא לירחא הדין ויכסון יתה כל קהלא כנשתא דישראל בין שמשיא:
wyhy lkwn lmTra ed arbea esra ywma lyrkha hdyn wykswn ythh kl qhla knshtha dyshral byn shmshya
You shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month; and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it at evening.

ויסבון מן דמא ויתנון על תרין ספיא ועל שקפא על בתיא דיכלון יתה בהון:
wysbwn mn dma wythnwn el thryn spya wel shqpa el bthya dyklwn ythh bhwn
They shall take some of the blood, and put it on the two door posts and on the lintel, on the houses in which they shall eat it.

ויכלון ית בסרא בלילא ההוא טוי נור ופטיר על מררין יכלנה:
wyklwn yth bsra blyla hhwa Twy nwr wpTyr el mrryn yklnh
They shall eat the meat in that night, roasted with fire, with unleavened bread. They shall eat it with bitter herbs.

לא תיכלון מנה כד חי ואף לא בשלא מבשל במיא אלהן טוי נור רישיה על כרעוהי ועל גוה:
la thyklwn mnh kd khy wap la bshla mbshl bmya alhn Twy nwr ryshyh el krewhy wel gwh
Don’t eat it raw, nor boiled at all with water, but roasted with fire; with its head, its legs and its inner parts.

ולא תשארון מנה עד צפרא ודישתאר מנה עד צפרא בנורא תוקדון:
wla thsharwn mnh ed tspra wdyshthar mnh ed tspra bnwra thwqdwn
You shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; but that which remains of it until the morning you shall burn with fire.

וכדין תיכלון יתה חרציכון יהון אסירין מסניכון ברגליכון וחוטריכון בידיכון ותיכלון יתה בבהילו פסחא הוא קדם יי:
wkdyn thyklwn ythh khrtsykwn yhwn asyryn msnykwn brglykwn wkhwTrykwn bydykwn wthyklwn ythh bbhylw pskha hwa qdm yy
This is how you shall eat it: with your belt on your waist, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and you shall eat it in haste: it is Yahweh’s Passover.

ואתגליתי בארעא דמצרים בליליא הדין ואקטול כל בוכרא בארעא דמצרים מאנשא ועד בעירא ובכל טעות מצרים אעבד דינין אנא יי:
wathglythy barea dmtsrym blylya hdyn waqTwl kl bwkra barea dmtsrym mansha wed beyra wbkl Tewth mtsrym aebd dynyn ana yy
For I will go through the land of Egypt in that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and animal. I will execute judgments against all the gods of Egypt. I am Yahweh.

ויהי דמא לכון לאת על בתיא די אתון תמן ואחזי ית דמא ואיחוס עליכון ולא יהי בכון מותא לחבלא במקטלי בארעא דמצרים:
wyhy dma lkwn lath el bthya dy athwn thmn wakhzy yth dma waykhws elykwn wla yhy bkwn mwtha lkhbla bmqTly barea dmtsrym
The blood shall be to you for a token on the houses where you are. When I see the blood, I will pass over you, and no plague will be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.

ויהי יומא הדין לכון לדוכרנא ותחגון יתה חגא קדם יי לדריכון קים עלם תחגנה:
wyhy ywma hdyn lkwn ldwkrna wthkhgwn ythh khga qdm yy ldrykwn qym elm thkhgnh
This day shall be a memorial for you. You shall keep it as a feast to Yahweh. You shall keep it as a feast throughout your generations by an ordinance forever.
15
שבעת יומין פטיר תיכלון ברם ביומא קדמאה תבטלון חמירא מבתיכון ארי כל דיכול חמיע וישתצי אנשא ההוא מישראל מיומא קדמאה עד יומא שביעאה:
shbeth ywmyn pTyr thyklwn brm bywma qdmah thbTlwn khmyra mbthykwn ary kl dykwl khmye wyshthtsy ansha hhwa myshral mywma qdmah ed ywma shbyeah
“‘Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread; even the first day you shall put away yeast out of your houses, for whoever eats leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.

וביומא קדמאה מערע קדיש וביומא שביעאה מערע קדיש יהי לכון כל עיבידא לא יתעבד בהון ברם די מתאכל לכל נפש הוא בלחודוהי יתעבד לכון:
wbywma qdmah mere qdysh wbywma shbyeah mere qdysh yhy lkwn kl eybyda la ythebd bhwn brm dy mthakl lkl npsh hwa blkhwdwhy ythebd lkwn
In the first day there shall be to you a holy convocation, and in the seventh day a holy convocation; no kind of work shall be done in them, except that which every man must eat, only that may be done by you.

ותטרון ית פטירא ארי בכרן יומא הדין אפיקית ית חיליכון מארעא דמצרים ותטרון ית יומא הדין לדריכון קים עלם:
wthTrwn yth pTyra ary bkrn ywma hdyn apyqyth yth khylykwn marea dmtsrym wthTrwn yth ywma hdyn ldrykwn qym elm
You shall observe the feast of unleavened bread; for in this same day I have brought your armies out of the land of Egypt. Therefore you shall observe this day throughout your generations by an ordinance forever.

בניסן בארבעא עסרא יומא לירחא ברמשא תיכלון פטירא עד יומא עסרין וחד לירחא ברמשא:
bnysn barbea esra ywma lyrkha brmsha thyklwn pTyra ed ywma esryn wkhd lyrkha brmsha
In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at evening, you shall eat unleavened bread, until the twenty first day of the month at evening.
19
שבעת יומין חמיר לא ישתכח בבתיכון ארי כל דיכול מחמעא וישתצי אנשא ההוא מכנשתא דישראל בגיורא וביציבא דארעא:
shbeth ywmyn khmyr la yshthkkh bbthykwn ary kl dykwl mkhmea wyshthtsy ansha hhwa mknshtha dyshral bgywra wbytsyba darea
There shall be no yeast found in your houses for seven days, for whoever eats that which is leavened, that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he is a foreigner, or one who is born in the land.
20
כל מחמעא לא תיכלון בכל מותבניכון תיכלון פטירא:
kl mkhmea la thyklwn bkl mwthbnykwn thyklwn pTyra
You shall eat nothing leavened. In all your habitations you shall eat unleavened bread.’”
21
וקרא משה לכל סבי ישראל ואמר להון נגידו וסיבו לכון ענא לזרעיתכון וכוסו פסחא:
wqra mshh lkl sby yshral wamr lhwn ngydw wsybw lkwn ena lzreythkwn wkwsw pskha
Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said to them, “Draw out, and take lambs according to your families, and kill the Passover.
22
ותסבון אסרת אזובא ותטבלון בדמא דבמנא ותדון לשקפא ולתרין ספיא מן דמא דבמנא ואתון לא תפקון אנש מתרע ביתה עד צפרא:
wthsbwn asrth azwba wthTblwn bdma dbmna wthdwn lshqpa wlthryn spya mn dma dbmna wathwn la thpqwn ansh mthre bythh ed tspra
You shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two door posts with the blood that is in the basin. None of you shall go out of the door of his house until the morning.
23
ויתגלי יי לממחי ית מצרים ויחזי ית דמא על שקפא ועל תרין ספיא ויחוס יי על תרעא ולא ישבוק לחבלא למיעל לבתיכון לממחי:
wythgly yy lmmkhy yth mtsrym wykhzy yth dma el shqpa wel thryn spya wykhws yy el threa wla yshbwq lkhbla lmyel lbthykwn lmmkhy
For Yahweh will pass through to strike the Egyptians; and when he sees the blood on the lintel, and on the two door posts, Yahweh will pass over the door, and will not allow the destroyer to come in to your houses to strike you.
24
ותטרון ית פתגמא הדין לקים לך ולבניך עד עלם:
wthTrwn yth pthgma hdyn lqym lk wlbnyk ed elm
You shall observe this thing for an ordinance to you and to your sons forever.
25
ויהי ארי תעלון לארעא דיתן יי לכון כמא די מליל ותטרון ית פלחנא הדין:
wyhy ary thelwn larea dythn yy lkwn kma dy mlyl wthTrwn yth plkhna hdyn
It shall happen when you have come to the land which Yahweh will give you, as he has promised, that you shall keep this service.
26
ויהי ארי יימרון לכון בניכון מא פלחנא הדין לכון:
wyhy ary yymrwn lkwn bnykwn ma plkhna hdyn lkwn
It will happen, when your children ask you, ‘What do you mean by this service?’
27
ותימרון דבח חיס הוא קדם יי די חס על בתי בני ישראל במצרים כד הוה מחי ית מצראי וית בתנא שזיב וכרע עמא וסגידו:
wthymrwn dbkh khys hwa qdm yy dy khs el bthy bny yshral bmtsrym kd hwh mkhy yth mtsray wyth bthna shzyb wkre ema wsgydw
that you shall say, ‘It is the sacrifice of Yahweh’s Passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he struck the Egyptians, and spared our houses.’” The people bowed their heads and worshiped.
28
ואזלו ועבדו בני ישראל כמא דפקיד יי ית משה ואהרן כן עבדו:
wazlw webdw bny yshral kma dpqyd yy yth mshh wahrn kn ebdw
The children of Israel went and did so; as Yahweh had commanded Moses and Aaron, so they did.
29
והוה בפלגות ליליא ויי קטל כל בוכרא בארעא דמצרים מבוכרא דפרעה דעתיד למתב על כרסי מלכותה עד בוכרא דשביא די בבית אסירי וכל בוכרא דבעירא:
whwh bplgwth lylya wyy qTl kl bwkra barea dmtsrym mbwkra dpreh dethyd lmthb el krsy mlkwthh ed bwkra dshbya dy bbyth asyry wkl bwkra dbeyra
At midnight, Yahweh struck all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of livestock.
30
וקם פרעה ליליא הוא וכל עבדוהי וכל מצרים והות צוחתא רבתא במצרים ארי לית ביתא דלא הוה בה תמן מתא:
wqm preh lylya hwa wkl ebdwhy wkl mtsrym whwth tswkhtha rbtha bmtsrym ary lyth bytha dla hwh bh thmn mtha
Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt, for there was not a house where there was not one dead.
31
וקרא למשה ולאהרן ליליא ואמר קומו פוקו מגו עמי אף אתון אף בני ישראל ואזילו פלחו קדם יי כמא דהותון אמרין:
wqra lmshh wlahrn lylya wamr qwmw pwqw mgw emy ap athwn ap bny yshral wazylw plkhw qdm yy kma dhwthwn amryn
He called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, “Rise up, get out from among my people, both you and the children of Israel; and go, serve Yahweh, as you have said!
32
אף ענכון אף תורכון דברו כמא די מללתן ואזילו וצלו אף עלי:
ap enkwn ap thwrkwn dbrw kma dy mllthn wazylw wtslw ap ely
Take both your flocks and your herds, as you have said, and be gone; and bless me also!”
33
ותקיפת מצרים על עמא לאוחאה לשלחותהון מן ארעא ארי אמרו כלנא מיתין:
wthqypth mtsrym el ema lawkhah lshlkhwthhwn mn area ary amrw klna mythyn
The Egyptians were urgent with the people, to send them out of the land in haste, for they said, “We are all dead men.”
34
ונטל עמא ית לישיהון עד לא חמע מותר אצותהון צריר בלבשהון על כתפיהון:
wnTl ema yth lyshyhwn ed la khme mwthr atswthhwn tsryr blbshhwn el kthpyhwn
The people took their dough before it was leavened, their kneading troughs being bound up in their clothes on their shoulders.
35
ובני ישראל עבדו כפתגמא דמשה ושאילו ממצרים מנין דכסף ומנין דדהב ולבושין:
wbny yshral ebdw kpthgma dmshh wshaylw mmtsrym mnyn dksp wmnyn ddhb wlbwshyn
The children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they asked of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and clothing.
36
ויי יהב ית עמא לרחמין בעיני מצרים ואשלינון ורוקינו ית מצרים:
wyy yhb yth ema lrkhmyn beyny mtsrym washlynwn wrwqynw yth mtsrym
Yahweh gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they let them have what they asked. They plundered the Egyptians.
37
ונטלו בני ישראל מרעמסס לסכות כשת מאה אלפין רגלאין גבריא בר מטפלא:
wnTlw bny yshral mremss lskwth kshth mah alpyn rglayn gbrya br mTpla
The children of Israel traveled from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot who were men, in addition to children.
38
ואף נוכראין סגיאין סליקו עמהון וענא ותורין בעירא סגי לחדא:
wap nwkrayn sgyayn slyqw emhwn wena wthwryn beyra sgy lkhda
A mixed multitude went up also with them, with flocks, herds, and even very much livestock.
39
ואפו ית לישא די אפיקו ממצרים גריצן פטירן ארי לא חמע ארי אתרכו ממצרים ולא יכילו לאתעכבא ואף זודין לא עבדו להון:
wapw yth lysha dy apyqw mmtsrym grytsn pTyrn ary la khme ary athrkw mmtsrym wla ykylw lathekba wap zwdyn la ebdw lhwn
They baked unleavened cakes of the dough which they brought out of Egypt; for it wasn’t leavened, because they were thrust out of Egypt, and couldn’t wait, and they had not prepared any food for themselves.
40
ומותב בני ישראל די יתיבו במצרים ארבע מאה ותלתין שנין:
wmwthb bny yshral dy ythybw bmtsrym arbe mah wthlthyn shnyn
Now the time that the children of Israel lived in Egypt was four hundred thirty years.
41
והוה מסוף ארבע מאה ותלתין שנין והוה בכרן יומא הדין נפקו כל חיליא דיי מארעא דמצרים:
whwh mswp arbe mah wthlthyn shnyn whwh bkrn ywma hdyn npqw kl khylya dyy marea dmtsrym
At the end of four hundred thirty years, to the day, all of Yahweh’s armies went out from the land of Egypt.
42
ליל נטיר הוא קדם יי לאפקותהון מארעא דמצרים הוא ליליא הדין קדם יי נטירין לכל בני ישראל לדריהון:
lyl nTyr hwa qdm yy lapqwthhwn marea dmtsrym hwa lylya hdyn qdm yy nTyryn lkl bny yshral ldryhwn
It is a night to be much observed to Yahweh for bringing them out from the land of Egypt. This is that night of Yahweh, to be much observed by all the children of Israel throughout their generations.
43
ואמר יי למשה ולאהרן דא גזירת פסחא כל בר ישראל דישתמד לא יכול בה:
wamr yy lmshh wlahrn da gzyrth pskha kl br yshral dyshthmd la ykwl bh
Yahweh said to Moses and Aaron, “This is the ordinance of the Passover. No foreigner shall eat of it,

וכל עבד גבר זביני כספא ותגזר יתה בכן יכול בה:
wkl ebd gbr zbyny kspa wthgzr ythh bkn ykwl bh
but every man’s servant who is bought for money, when you have circumcised him, then shall he eat of it.
45
תותבא ואגירא לא יכול בה:
thwthba wagyra la ykwl bh
A foreigner and a hired servant shall not eat of it.
46
בחבורא חדא יתאכל לא תפיק מן ביתא מן בסרא לברא וגרמא לא תתברון בה:
bkhbwra khda ythakl la thpyq mn bytha mn bsra lbra wgrma la ththbrwn bh
It must be eaten in one house. You shall not carry any of the meat outside of the house. Do not break any of its bones.
47
כל כנשתא דישראל יעבדון יתה:
kl knshtha dyshral yebdwn ythh
All the congregation of Israel shall keep it.
48
וארי יתגיר עמך גיורא ויעבד פסחא קדם יי מגזר לה כל דכורא ובכן יקרב למעבדה ויהי כיציבא דארעא וכל ערלא לא יכול בה:
wary ythgyr emk gywra wyebd pskha qdm yy mgzr lh kl dkwra wbkn yqrb lmebdh wyhy kytsyba darea wkl erla la ykwl bh
When a stranger lives as a foreigner with you, and would like to keep the Passover to Yahweh, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it. He shall be as one who is born in the land; but no uncircumcised person shall eat of it.
49
אוריתא חדא יהא ליציבא ולגיורא דיתגירון ביניכון:
awrytha khda yha lytsyba wlgywra dythgyrwn bynykwn
One law shall be to him who is born at home, and to the stranger who lives as a foreigner among you.”
50
ועבדו כל בני ישראל כמא די פקיד יי ית משה וית אהרן כן עבדו:
webdw kl bny yshral kma dy pqyd yy yth mshh wyth ahrn kn ebdw
All the children of Israel did so. As Yahweh commanded Moses and Aaron, so they did.
51
והוה בכרן יומא הדין אפיק יי ית בני ישראל מארעא דמצרים על חיליהון:
whwh bkrn ywma hdyn apyq yy yth bny yshral marea dmtsrym el khylyhwn
That same day, Yahweh brought the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their armies.
