ܒܥܐ ܐܢܐ ܗܟܝܠ ܡܢܟܘܢ ܐܢܐ ܐܣܝܪܐ ܒܡܪܢ ܕܬܗܠܟܘܢ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܝܐܐ ܠܩܪܝܢܐ ܕܐܬܩܪܝܬܘܢ

I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beg you to walk worthily of the calling with which you were called,

ܒܟܠܗ ܡܟܝܟܘܬ ܪܥܝܢܐ ܘܢܝܚܘܬܐ ܘܢܓܝܪܘܬ ܪܘܚܐ ܘܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܡܣܝܒܪܝܢ ܚܕ ܠܚܕ ܒܚܘܒܐ
bklh mkykwth reyn' wnykhwth' wngyrwth rwkh' whwythwn msybryn khd lkhd bkhwb'
with all lowliness and humility, with patience, bearing with one another in love;

ܘܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܚܦܝܛܝܢ ܠܡܛܪ ܐܘܝܘܬܐ ܕܪܘܚܐ ܒܚܙܩܐ ܕܫܠܡܐ
whwythwn khpyTyn lmTr 'wywth' drwkh' bkhzq' dshlm'
being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

ܕܬܗܘܘܢ ܒܚܕ ܦܓܪܐ ܘܒܚܕܐ ܪܘܚܐ ܐܝܟ ܡܐ ܕܐܬܩܪܝܬܘܢ ܒܚܕ ܣܒܪܐ ܕܩܪܝܢܟܘܢ
dthhwwn bkhd pgr' wbkhd' rwkh' 'yk m' d'thqrythwn bkhd sbr' dqrynkwn
There is one body, and one Spirit, even as you also were called in one hope of your calling;

ܚܕ ܗܘ ܓܝܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܚܕܐ ܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܘܚܕܐ ܡܥܡܘܕܝܬܐ

one Lord, one faith, one baptism,

ܘܚܕ ܐܠܗܐ ܐܒܐ ܕܟܠ ܘܥܠ ܟܠ ܘܒܝܕ ܟܠ ܘܒܟܠܢ

one God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in us all.

ܠܚܕ ܚܕ ܡܢܢ ܕܝܢ ܐܬܝܗܒܬ ܛܝܒܘܬܐ ܐܝܟ ܡܫܘܚܬܐ ܕܡܘܗܒܬܗ ܕܡܫܝܚܐ
lkhd khd mnn dyn 'thyhbth Tybwth' 'yk mshwkhth' dmwhbthh dmshykh'
But to each one of us was the grace given according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܐܡܝܪ ܕܣܠܩ ܠܡܪܘܡܐ ܘܫܒܐ ܫܒܝܬܐ ܘܝܗܒ ܡܘܗܒܬܐ ܠܒܢܝܢܫܐ

Therefore he says, “When he ascended on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men.”

ܕܣܠܩ ܕܝܢ ܡܢܐ ܗܝ ܐܠܐ ܐܢ ܕܐܦ ܢܚܬ ܠܘܩܕܡ ܠܬܚܬܝܬܗ ܕܐܪܥܐ

Now this, “He ascended”, what is it but that he also first descended into the lower parts of the earth?

ܗܘ ܕܢܚܬ ܗܘܝܘ ܗܘ ܕܐܦ ܣܠܩ ܠܥܠ ܡܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܫܡܝܐ ܕܢܫܠܡ ܟܠ
hw dnkhth hwyw hw d'p slq lel mn klhwn shmy' dnshlm kl
He who descended is the one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.

ܘܗܘ ܝܗܒ ܐܝܬ ܕܫܠܝܚܐ ܘܐܝܬ ܕܢܒܝܐ ܘܐܝܬ ܕܡܣܒܪܢܐ ܘܐܝܬ ܕܪܥܘܬܐ ܘܐܝܬ ܕܡܠܦܢܐ
whw yhb 'yth dshlykh' w'yth dnby' w'yth dmsbrn' w'yth drewth' w'yth dmlpn'
He gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, shepherds and teachers;

ܠܓܡܪܐ ܕܩܕܝܫܐ ܠܥܒܕܐ ܕܬܫܡܫܬܐ ܠܒܢܝܢܐ ܕܦܓܪܐ ܕܡܫܝܚܐ
lgmr' dqdysh' lebd' dthshmshth' lbnyn' dpgr' dmshykh'
for the perfecting of the saints, to the work of serving, to the building up of the body of Christ;

ܥܕܡܐ ܕܟܠܢ ܢܗܘܐ ܚܕ ܡܕܡ ܒܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܘܒܝܕܥܬܐ ܕܒܪܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܘܚܕ ܓܒܪܐ ܓܡܝܪܐ ܒܡܫܘܚܬܐ ܕܩܘܡܬܐ ܕܫܘܡܠܝܗ ܕܡܫܝܚܐ
edm' dkln nhw' khd mdm bhymnwth' wbydeth' dbrh d'lh' wkhd gbr' gmyr' bmshwkhth' dqwmth' dshwmlyh dmshykh'
until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a full grown man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;

ܘܠܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܝܠܘܕܐ ܕܡܙܕܥܙܥܝܢ ܘܡܫܬܢܝܢ ܠܟܠ ܪܘܚ ܕܝܘܠܦܢܐ ܢܟܝܠܐ ܕܒܢܝܢܫܐ ܗܢܘܢ ܕܒܚܪܥܘܬܗܘܢ ܡܨܛܢܥܝܢ ܕܢܛܥܘܢ
wl' nhw' ylwd' dmzdezeyn wmshthnyn lkl rwkh dywlpn' nkyl' dbnynsh' hnwn dbkhrewthhwn mtsTneyn dnTewn
that we may no longer be children, tossed back and forth and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in craftiness, after the wiles of error;

ܐܠܐ ܗܘܝܢ ܫܪܝܪܝܢ ܒܚܘܒܢ ܕܟܘܠ ܡܕܡ ܕܝܠܢ ܢܪܒܐ ܒܡܫܝܚܐ ܕܗܘܝܘ ܪܫܐ
'l' hwyn shryryn bkhwbn dkwl mdm dyln nrb' bmshykh' dhwyw rsh'
but speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him, who is the head, Christ;

ܘܡܢܗ ܟܠܗ ܦܓܪܐ ܡܬܪܟܒ ܘܡܬܩܛܪ ܒܟܠ ܫܪܝܢ ܐܝܟ ܡܘܗܒܬܐ ܕܡܬܝܗܒܐ ܒܡܫܘܚܬܐ ܠܟܠ ܗܕܡ ܠܬܪܒܝܬܐ ܕܝܠܗ ܕܦܓܪܐ ܕܒܚܘܒܐ ܢܫܬܠܡ ܒܢܝܢܗ
wmnh klh pgr' mthrkb wmthqTr bkl shryn 'yk mwhbth' dmthyhb' bmshwkhth' lkl hdm lthrbyth' dylh dpgr' dbkhwb' nshthlm bnynh
from whom all the body, being fitted and knit together through that which every joint supplies, according to the working in measure of each individual part, makes the body increase to the building up of itself in love.

ܗܕܐ ܕܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܘܡܣܗܕ ܐܢܐ ܒܡܪܝܐ ܕܡܢ ܗܫܐ ܠܐ ܬܗܘܘܢ ܡܗܠܟܝܢ ܐܝܟ ܫܪܟܐ ܕܥܡܡܐ ܕܡܗܠܟܝܢ ܒܣܪܝܩܘܬ ܪܥܝܢܗܘܢ
hd' dyn 'mr 'n' wmshd 'n' bmry' dmn hsh' l' thhwwn mhlkyn 'yk shrk' demm' dmhlkyn bsryqwth reynhwn
This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind,

ܘܚܫܘܟܝܢ ܒܡܕܥܝܗܘܢ ܘܢܘܟܪܝܝܢ ܐܢܘܢ ܡܢ ܚܝܘܗܝ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܠܝܬ ܒܗܘܢ ܝܕܥܬܐ ܘܡܛܠ ܥܘܝܪܘܬ ܠܒܗܘܢ
wkhshwkyn bmdeyhwn wnwkryyn 'nwn mn khywhy d'lh' mTl dlyth bhwn ydeth' wmTl ewyrwth lbhwn
being darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardening of their hearts;

ܗܢܘܢ ܕܦܣܩܘ ܣܒܪܗܘܢ ܘܐܫܠܡܘ ܢܦܫܗܘܢ ܠܦܚܙܘܬܐ ܘܠܦܘܠܚܢܐ ܕܟܠܗ ܛܢܦܘܬܐ ܒܝܥܢܘܬܗܘܢ
hnwn dpsqw sbrhwn w'shlmw npshhwn lpkhzwth' wlpwlkhn' dklh Tnpwth' byenwthhwn
who having become callous gave themselves up to lust, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܝܠܦܬܘܢܝܗܝ ܠܡܫܝܚܐ
'nthwn dyn l' hw' hkn' ylpthwnyhy lmshykh'
But you did not learn Christ that way;

ܐܢ ܫܪܝܪܐܝܬ ܫܡܥܬܘܢܝܗܝ ܘܒܗ ܝܠܦܬܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܡܐ ܕܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܩܘܫܬܐ ܒܝܫܘܥ
'n shryr'yth shmethwnyhy wbh ylpthwn 'yk m' d'ythwhy qwshth' byshwe
if indeed you heard him, and were taught in him, even as truth is in Jesus:

ܐܠܐ ܕܬܢܝܚܘܢ ܡܢܟܘܢ ܗܘܦܟܝܟܘܢ ܩܕܡܝܐ ܠܒܪܢܫܐ ܗܘ ܥܬܝܩܐ ܕܡܬܚܒܠ ܒܪܓܝܓܬܐ ܕܛܘܥܝܝ
'l' dthnykhwn mnkwn hwpkykwn qdmy' lbrnsh' hw ethyq' dmthkhbl brgygth' dTweyy
that you put away, as concerning your former way of life, the old man, that grows corrupt after the lusts of deceit;

ܘܬܬܚܕܬܘܢ ܒܪܘܚܐ ܕܡܕܥܝܟܘܢ
wththkhdthwn brwkh' dmdeykwn
and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind,

ܘܬܠܒܫܘܢ ܠܒܪܢܫܐ ܚܕܬܐ ܗܘ ܕܒܐܠܗܐ ܐܬܒܪܝ ܒܙܕܝܩܘܬܐ ܘܒܚܣܝܘܬܐ ܕܩܘܫܬܐ
wthlbshwn lbrnsh' khdth' hw db'lh' 'thbry bzdyqwth' wbkhsywth' dqwshth'
and put on the new man, who in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of truth.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܐܢܝܚܘ ܡܢܟܘܢ ܟܕܒܘܬܐ ܘܡܠܠܘ ܩܘܫܬܐ ܐܢܫ ܥܡ ܩܪܝܒܗ ܗܕܡܐ ܚܢܢ ܓܝܪ ܚܕ ܕܚܕ
mTl hn' 'nykhw mnkwn kdbwth' wmllw qwshth' 'nsh em qrybh hdm' khnn gyr khd dkhd
Therefore putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor. For we are members of one another.

ܪܓܙܘ ܘܠܐ ܬܚܛܘܢ ܘܫܡܫܐ ܥܠ ܪܘܓܙܟܘܢ ܠܐ ܢܥܪܒ

“Be angry, and don’t sin.” Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath,

ܘܠܐ ܬܬܠܘܢ ܐܬܪܐ ܠܐܟܠ-ܩܪܨܐ
wl' ththlwn 'thr' l'kl-qrts'
and don’t give place to the devil.

ܘܐܝܢܐ ܕܓܢܒ ܗܘܐ ܡܟܝܠ ܠܐ ܢܓܢܘܒ ܐܠܐ ܢܠܐܐ ܒܐܝܕܘܗܝ ܘܢܦܠܘܚ ܛܒܬܐ ܕܢܗܘܐ ܠܗ ܠܡܬܠ ܠܡܢ ܕܣܢܝܩ

Let him who stole steal no more; but rather let him labor, producing with his hands something that is good, that he may have something to give to him who has need.

ܟܠ ܡܠܐ ܣܢܝܐ ܡܢ ܦܘܡܟܘܢ ܠܐ ܬܦܘܩ ܐܠܐ ܐܝܕܐ ܕܫܦܝܪܐ ܘܚܫܚܐ ܠܒܢܝܢܐ ܕܬܬܠ ܛܝܒܘܬܐ ܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܫܡܥܝܢ
kl ml' sny' mn pwmkwn l' thpwq 'l' 'yd' dshpyr' wkhshkh' lbnyn' dththl Tybwth' l'ylyn dshmeyn
Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear.

ܘܠܐ ܬܗܘܘܢ ܡܥܝܩܝܢ ܠܪܘܚܐ ܩܕܝܫܬܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܬܚܬܡܬܘܢ ܒܗ ܠܝܘܡܐ ܕܦܘܪܩܢܐ
wl' thhwwn meyqyn lrwkh' qdyshth' d'lh' d'thkhthmthwn bh lywm' dpwrqn'
Don’t grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

ܟܠܗ ܡܪܝܪܘܬܐ ܘܚܡܬܐ ܘܪܘܓܙܐ ܘܪܘܒܐ ܘܓܘܕܦܐ ܢܫܬܩܠܢ ܡܢܟܘܢ ܥܡ ܟܠܗ ܒܝܫܘܬܐ

Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice.

ܘܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܒܣܝܡܝܢ ܚܕ ܠܘܬ ܚܕ ܘܡܪܚܡܢܝܢ ܘܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܫܒܩܝܢ ܚܕ ܠܚܕ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܒܡܫܝܚܐ ܫܒܩ ܠܢ
whwythwn bsymyn khd lwth khd wmrkhmnyn whwythwn shbqyn khd lkhd 'ykn' d'lh' bmshykh' shbq ln
And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you.
