ܠܐ ܬܣܬܪܗܒ ܒܦܘܡܟ ܘܠܒܟ ܠܐ ܢܣܬܪܗܒ ܠܡܦܩܘ ܡܠܬܐ ܩܕܡ ܐܠܗܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܒܫܡܝܐ ܘܐܢܬ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܢܗܘܘܢ ܦܬܓܡ̈ܝܟ ܙܥܘܪ̈ܝܢ
zewryn pthgmyk nhwwn hn' mTl b're' w'nth bshmy' d'lh' mTl 'lh' qdm mlth' lmpqw nsthrhb l' wlbk bpwmk thsthrhb l'
Guard your steps when you go to God’s house; for to draw near to listen is better than to give the sacrifice of fools, for they don’t know that they do evil.

ܡܛܠ ܕܐܬܐ ܚܠܡܐ ܒܣܘܓܐܬ ܥܢܝܢܐ ܘܩܠܗ ܕܣܟܠܐ ܒܣܘܓܐܬ ܦܬ̈ܓܡܐ
pthgm' bswg'th dskl' wqlh enyn' bswg'th khlm' d'th' mTl
Don’t be rash with your mouth, and don’t let your heart be hasty to utter anything before God; for God is in heaven, and you on earth. Therefore let your words be few.

ܐܡܬܝ ܕܢܕܪ ܐܢܬ ܢܕܪܐ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܠܐ ܬܫܬܘܚܪ ܠܡܫܠܡܘܬܗ ܡܛܠ ܕܠܝܬ ܨܒܝܢܐ ܒܣ̈ܟܠܐ ܐܢܬ ܡܕܡ ܕܢܕܪ ܐܢܬ ܦܪܘܥ
prwe 'nth dndr mdm 'nth bskl' tsbyn' dlyth mTl lmshlmwthh thshthwkhr l' l'lh' ndr' 'nth dndr 'mthy
For as a dream comes with a multitude of cares, so a fool’s speech with a multitude of words.

ܛܒ ܕܠܐ ܬܕܘܪ ܡܢ ܕܬܕܘܪ ܘܠܐ ܬܫܠܡ
thshlm wl' dthdwr mn thdwr dl' Tb
When you vow a vow to God, don’t defer to pay it; for he has no pleasure in fools. Pay that which you vow.

ܠܐ ܬܬܠ ܦܘܡܟ ܠܡܚܛܝܘ ܒܣܪܟ ܘܠܐ ܬܐܡܪ ܩܕܡ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܛܘܥܝܝ ܗܝ ܕܠܡܐ ܢܪܓܙ ܐܠܗܐ ܥܠ ܩܠܟ ܘܢܚܒܠ ܥܒܕܐ ܕܐ̈ܝܕܝܟ

It is better that you should not vow, than that you should vow and not pay.

ܡܛܠ ܕܒܣܘܓܐܬ ܚ̈ܠܡܐ ܘܗܒ̈ܠܐ ܘܦܬܓܡ̈ܐ ܣ̈ܓܝܐܐ ܐܢܬ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܕܚܠ
dkhl l'lh' 'nth sgy'' wpthgm' whbl' khlm' dbswg'th mTl
Don’t allow your mouth to lead you into sin. Don’t protest before the messenger that this was a mistake. Why should God be angry at your voice, and destroy the work of your hands?

ܘܐܢ ܥܘܠܒܢܐ ܕܡܣ̈ܟܢܐ ܘܚܛܘܦܝܐ ܘܕܝܢܐ ܬܚܙܐ ܒܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܠܐ ܬܬܡܗ ܒܗ̇ ܒܨܒܘܬܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܪܡܐ ܠܥܠ ܡܢ ܪܡܐ ܢܛܪ ܘܪܡܝܢ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ
elyhwn wrmyn nTr rm' mn lel drm' mTl btsbwth' bh ththmh l' bmdynth' thkhz' wdyn' wkhTwpy' dmskn' ewlbn' w'n
For in the multitude of dreams there are vanities, as well as in many words; but you must fear God.

ܘܝܘܬܪܢܐ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܒܟܠ ܗܘ ܡܠܟܐ ܠܚܩܠܐ ܡܦܠܚ
mplkh lkhql' mlk' hw bkl d're' wywthrn'
If you see the oppression of the poor, and the violent taking away of justice and righteousness in a district, don’t marvel at the matter, for one official is eyed by a higher one, and there are officials over them.

ܕܪܚܡ ܟܣܦܐ ܠܐ ܢܣܒܥ ܟܣܦܐ ܘܕܪܚܡ ܡܡܘܢܐ ܠܐ ܢܩܕܝܘܗܝ ܘܐܦ ܗܢܐ ܗܒܠܐ
hbl' hn' w'p nqdywhy l' mmwn' wdrkhm ksp' nsbe l' ksp' drkhm
Moreover the profit of the earth is for all. The king profits from the field.

ܒܣܘܓܐܐ ܕܛܒܬܐ ܣܓܝܘ ܐ̈ܟܘܠܝܗ̇ ܘܡܢܐ ܝܘܬܪܢܐ ܠܩܢܝܗ̇ ܐܠܐ ܐܢ ܚܙܬܐ ܕܥܝ̈ܢܘܗܝ
deynwhy khzth' 'n 'l' lqnyh ywthrn' wmn' 'kwlyh sgyw dTbth' bswg''
He who loves silver shall not be satisfied with silver, nor he who loves abundance, with increase. This also is vanity.

ܚܠܝܐ ܫܢܬܐ ܠܦܠܚܐ ܐܢ ܙܥܘܪ ܘܐܢ ܣܓܝ ܐܟܠ ܘܣܒܥܐ ܠܥܬܝܪܐ ܠܐ ܫܒܩ ܠܗ ܠܡܕܡܟ
lmdmk lh shbq l' lethyr' wsbe' 'kl sgy w'n zewr 'n lplkh' shnth' khly'
When goods increase, those who eat them are increased; and what advantage is there to its owner, except to feast on them with his eyes?

ܐܝܬ ܟܘܪܗܢܐ ܕܒܝܫܬܐ ܕܚܙܝܬ ܬܚܝܬ ܫܡܫܐ ܥܘܬܪܐ ܕܡܬܢܛܪ ܠܡܪܗ ܠܒܝܫܬܗ
lbyshthh lmrh dmthnTr ewthr' shmsh' thkhyth dkhzyth dbyshth' kwrhn' 'yth
The sleep of a laboring man is sweet, whether he eats little or much; but the abundance of the rich will not allow him to sleep.

ܘܐܒܕ ܥܘܬܪܐ ܗ̇ܘ ܒܥܢܝܢܐ ܒܝܫܐ ܕܐܘܠܕ ܒܪܐ ܘܠܐ ܐܝܬ ܒܐܝܕܗ ܡܕܡ
mdm b'ydh 'yth wl' br' d'wld bysh' benyn' hw ewthr' w'bd
There is a grievous evil which I have seen under the sun: wealth kept by its owner to his harm.

ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܢܦܩ ܡܢ ܟܪܣܐ ܕܐܡܗ ܥܪܛܠ ܢܗܦܘܟ ܠܡܐܙܠ ܐܝܟ ܕܐܬܐ ܘܡܕܡ ܠܐ ܢܣܒ ܒܥܡܠܗ ܕܢܐܙܠ ܒܐܝܕܗ
b'ydh dn'zl bemlh nsb l' wmdm d'th' 'yk lm'zl nhpwk erTl d'mh krs' mn dnpq 'ykn'
Those riches perish by misfortune, and if he has fathered a son, there is nothing in his hand.

ܘܐܦ ܗܢܐ ܟܘܪܗܢܐ ܒܝܫܐ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܓܝܪ ܕܐܬܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܙܠ ܘܡܢܐ ܝܘܬܪܢܐ ܒܟܠ ܕܥܡܠ ܠܪܘܚܐ
lrwkh' deml bkl ywthrn' wmn' 'zl hkn' d'th' gyr 'ykn' bysh' kwrhn' hn' w'p
As he came out of his mother’s womb, naked shall he go again as he came, and shall take nothing for his labor, which he may carry away in his hand.

ܘܐܦ ܟܠ ܝܘܡ̈ܘܗܝ ܒܚܫܘܟܐ ܐܟܠ ܘܒܪܘܓܙܐ ܣܓܝܐܐ ܘܒܚܡܬܐ ܘܒܐܒܠܐ ܘܒܟܘܪܗܢܐ ܘܒܚܡܬܐ
wbkhmth' wbkwrhn' wb'bl' wbkhmth' sgy'' wbrwgz' 'kl bkhshwk' ywmwhy kl w'p
This also is a grievous evil, that in all points as he came, so shall he go. And what profit does he have who labors for the wind?

ܗܢܐ ܡܕܡ ܕܚܙܝܬ ܐܢܐ ܩܘܗܠܬ ܛܒ ܗܘ ܘܫܦܝܪ ܠܡܐܟܠ ܘܠܡܫܬܐ ܘܠܡܚܙܐ ܛܒܬܐ ܒܟܠ ܥܡܠܗ ܕܥܡܠ ܬܚܝܬ ܫܡܫܐ ܡ̈ܢܝܢ ܝܘܡ̈ܬܐ ܕܚ̈ܝܘܗܝ ܕܝܗܒ ܠܗ ܡܪܝܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܗܘܝܘ ܡܢܬܗ
mnthh dhwyw mTl mry' lh dyhb dkhywhy ywmth' mnyn shmsh' thkhyth deml emlh bkl Tbth' wlmkhz' wlmshth' lm'kl wshpyr hw Tb qwhlth 'n' dkhzyth mdm hn'
All his days he also eats in darkness, he is frustrated, and has sickness and wrath.

ܘܐܦ ܟܠ ܐܢܫ ܕܝܗܒ ܠܗ ܡܪܝܐ ܥܘܬܪܐ ܘܢܟܣ̈ܐ ܘܐܫܠܛܗ ܠܡܐܟܠ ܡܢܗ ܘܠܡܣܒ ܡܢܬܗ ܘܠܡܚܕܐ ܒܥܡܠܗ ܐܦ ܗܕܐ ܡܘܗܒܬܐ ܗܝ ܕܐܠܗܐ
d'lh' hy mwhbth' hd' 'p bemlh wlmkhd' mnthh wlmsb mnh lm'kl w'shlTh wnks' ewthr' mry' lh dyhb 'nsh kl w'p
Behold, that which I have seen to be good and proper is for one to eat and to drink, and to enjoy good in all his labor, in which he labors under the sun, all the days of his life which God has given him; for this is his portion.

ܡܛܠ ܕܠܘ ܣܓܝ ܢܥܗܕ ܝܘܡ̈ܬܐ ܕܚܝ̈ܘܗܝ ܡܛܠ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܡܥܢܐ ܠܗ ܒܚܕܘܬܐ ܕܠܒܗ
dlbh bkhdwth' lh men' d'lh' mTl dkhywhy ywmth' nehd sgy dlw mTl
Every man also to whom God has given riches and wealth, and has given him power to eat of it, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labor—this is the gift of God.
