ܠܟܠ ܡܕܡ ܙܒܢܐ ܘܙܒܢܐ ܠܟܠ ܨܒܘ ܬܚܝܬ ܫܡܫܐ
shmsh' thkhyth tsbw lkl wzbn' zbn' mdm lkl
For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven:

ܙܒܢܐ ܠܡܐܠܕ ܘܙܒܢܐ ܠܡܡܬ ܙܒܢܐ ܠܡܨܒ ܘܙܒܢܐ ܠܡܥܩܪ ܢܨܝܒܐ
ntsyb' lmeqr wzbn' lmtsb zbn' lmmth wzbn' lm'ld zbn'
a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

ܙܒܢܐ ܠܡܩܛܠ ܘܙܒܢܐ ܠܡܚܝܘ ܙܒܢܐ ܠܡܣܬܪ ܘܙܒܢܐ ܠܡܒܢܐ
lmbn' wzbn' lmsthr zbn' lmkhyw wzbn' lmqTl zbn'
a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

ܙܒܢܐ ܠܡܒܟܐ ܘܙܒܢܐ ܠܡܓܚܟ ܙܒܢܐ ܠܡ̣ܪܩܕܘ ܘܙܒܢܐ ܠܡ̇ܪܩܕܘ
lmrqdw wzbn' lmrqdw zbn' lmgkhk wzbn' lmbk' zbn'
a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

ܙܒܢܐ ܠܡܪܡܝܘ ܟܐ̈ܦܐ ܘܙܒܢܐ ܠܡܟܢܫܘ ܟܐ̈ܦܐ ܙܒܢܐ ܠܡܥܦܩ ܘܙܒܢܐ ܠܡܬܪܚܩܘ ܡܢ ܥܦܘܩܝܐ
epwqy' mn lmthrkhqw wzbn' lmepq zbn' k'p' lmknshw wzbn' k'p' lmrmyw zbn'
a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

ܙܒܢܐ ܠܡܘܒܕܘ ܘܙܒܢܐ ܠܡܒܥܐ ܙܒܢܐ ܠܡܩܛܪ ܘܙܒܢܐ ܠܡܫܪܐ
lmshr' wzbn' lmqTr zbn' lmbe' wzbn' lmwbdw zbn'
a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

ܙܒܢܐ ܠܡܨܪܐ ܘܙܒܢܐ ܠܡܚܛ ܙܒܢܐ ܠܡܫܬܩ ܘܙܒܢܐ ܠܡܡܠܠܘ

a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

ܙܒܢܐ ܠܡܪܚܡ ܘܙܒܢܐ ܠܡܣܢܐ ܙܒܢܐ ܕܩܪܒܐ ܘܙܒܢܐ ܕܫܠܡܐ
dshlm' wzbn' dqrb' zbn' lmsn' wzbn' lmrkhm zbn'
a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace.

ܡܢܐ ܝܘܬܪܢ ܠܒܪ ܐܢܫܐ ܒܥܒܕܐ ܕܗܘ ܥܡܠ ܬܚܝܬ ܫܡܫܐ
shmsh' thkhyth eml dhw bebd' 'nsh' lbr ywthrn mn'
What profit has he who works in that in which he labors?

ܚܙܝܬ ܥܢܝܢܐ ܕܝܗܒ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܢܫܐ ܠܡܬܥܢܝܘ ܒܗ
bh lmthenyw 'nsh' lbny mry' dyhb enyn' khzyth
I have seen the burden which God has given to the sons of men to be afflicted with.

ܟܘܠ ܕܥܒܕ ܕܫܦܝܪ ܒܙܒܢܗ ܘܐܦ ܥܡܠܐ ܝܗܒ ܒܠܒܗܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܕܠܐ ܢܫܟܚ ܐܢܫܐ ܥܒܕܐ ܕܥܒܕ ܡܪܝܐ ܡܢ ܪܫܝܬܐ ܘܥܕܡܐ ܠܐܚܪܝܬܐ
l'khryth' wedm' rshyth' mn mry' debd ebd' 'nsh' nshkkh dl' 'yk blbhwn yhb eml' w'p bzbnh dshpyr debd kwl
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in their hearts, yet so that man can’t find out the work that God has done from the beginning even to the end.

ܘܝܕܥܬ ܕܠܝܬ ܕܛܒ ܒܗܘܢ ܐܠܐ ܠܡܚܕܐ ܘܠܡܥܒܕ ܕܛܒ ܒܚܝ̈ܝܗܘܢ
bkhyyhwn dTb wlmebd lmkhd' 'l' bhwn dTb dlyth wydeth
I know that there is nothing better for them than to rejoice, and to do good as long as they live.

ܘܐܦ ܟܠ ܐܢܫ ܕܢܐܟܘܠ ܘܢܫܬܐ ܘܢܚܙܐ ܛܒܬܐ ܒܟܠ ܥܡܠܗ ܗܕܐ ܡܘܗܒܬܐ ܗܝ ܕܡܪܝܐ
dmry' hy mwhbth' hd' emlh bkl Tbth' wnkhz' wnshth' dn'kwl 'nsh kl w'p
Also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy good in all his labor, is the gift of God.

ܝܕܥܬ ܕܟܠ ܕܥܒܕ ܡܪܝܐ ܗܘ ܢܗܘܐ ܠܥܠܡ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܠܝܬ ܠܡܘܣܦܘ ܘܡܢܗ ܠܝܬ ܠܡܒܨܪ ܘܡܪܝܐ ܥܒܕ ܕܢܕܚܠܘܢ ܡܢܗ
mnh dndkhlwn ebd wmry' lmbtsr lyth wmnh lmwspw lyth elwhy lelm nhw' hw mry' debd dkl ydeth
I know that whatever God does, it shall be forever. Nothing can be added to it, nor anything taken from it; and God has done it, that men should fear before him.

ܡܐ ܕܗܘܐ ܡܢ ܟܕܘ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܘܟܠ ܡܐ ܕܢܗܘܐ ܡܢ ܣܓܝ ܗܘܐ ܘܐܠܗܐ ܢܒܥܐ ܠܪܕܝܦܐ ܕܡܬܪܕܦ
dmthrdp lrdyp' nbe' w'lh' hw' sgy mn dnhw' m' wkl 'ythwhy kdw mn dhw' m'
That which is has been long ago, and that which is to be has been long ago. God seeks again that which is passed away.

ܘܬܘܒ ܚܙܝܬ ܬܚܝܬ ܫܡܫܐ ܐܬܪ ܕܕܝܢܐ ܬܡܢ ܪܘܫܥܐ ܘܐܬܪ ܕܙܕܩܐ ܬܡܢ ܥܘܠܐ
ewl' thmn dzdq' w'thr rwshe' thmn ddyn' 'thr shmsh' thkhyth khzyth wthwb
Moreover I saw under the sun, in the place of justice, that wickedness was there; and in the place of righteousness, that wickedness was there.

ܘܐܡܪܬ ܐܢܐ ܒܠܒܝ ܝܬ ܙܕܝܩܐ ܘܝܬ ܪܫܝܥܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܙܒܢܐ ܠܟܠ ܨܒܘ ܘܠܟܠ ܥܒܕ ܬܡܢ
thmn ebd wlkl tsbw lkl dzbn' mTl d'n 'lh' rshye' wyth zdyq' yth blby 'n' w'mrth
I said in my heart, “God will judge the righteous and the wicked; for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.”

ܐܡܪܬ ܐܢܐ ܒܠܒܝ ܥܠ ܡܡܠܠܐ ܕܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܢܫܐ ܕܒܪܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܘܠܡܚܘܝܘ ܕܗܢܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܒܥܝܪܐ ܐܢܘܢ
'nwn beyr' 'yk dhnwn wlmkhwyw 'lh' 'nwn dbr' 'nsh' dbny mmll' el blby 'n' 'mrth
I said in my heart, “As for the sons of men, God tests them, so that they may see that they themselves are like animals.

ܠܗܘܢ ܡܛܐ ܓܕܫܐ ܕܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܢܫܐ ܘܓܕܫܐ ܕܒܥܝܪܐ ܓܕܫܐ ܚܕ ܓܕܫ ܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܡܘܬܗ ܕܗܢܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܡܐܬ ܐܦ ܗܢܐ ܘܚܕܐ ܪܘܚܐ ܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܘܡܝܬܪܘܬܗ ܕܒܪܢܫܐ ܡܢ ܒܥܝܪܐ ܠܝܬ ܡܛܠ ܕܟܠ ܡܕܡ ܗܒܠܐ
hbl' mdm dkl mTl lyth beyr' mn dbrnsh' wmythrwthh lklhwn rwkh' wkhd' hn' 'p m'th hkn' dhn' mwthh 'yk lklhwn gdsh khd gdsh' dbeyr' wgdsh' 'nsh' dbny gdsh' mT' lhwn
For that which happens to the sons of men happens to animals. Even one thing happens to them. As the one dies, so the other dies. Yes, they have all one breath; and man has no advantage over the animals, for all is vanity.

ܟܠ ܐܙܠ ܠܐܬܪܐ ܚܕ ܟܠ ܗܘܐ ܡܢ ܥܦܪܐ ܘܟܠ ܗܦܟ ܠܥܦܪܐ
lepr' hpk wkl epr' mn hw' kl khd l'thr' 'zl kl
All go to one place. All are from the dust, and all turn to dust again.

ܘܡܢܘ ܝܕܥ ܐܢ ܪܘܚ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܢܫܐ ܣܠܩܐ ܠܥܠ ܘܪܘܚ ܒܥܝܪܐ ܢܚܬܐ ܗܝ ܠܬܚܬ ܠܐܪܥܐ
l're' lthkhth hy nkhth' beyr' wrwkh lel slq' 'nsh' bny rwkh 'n yde wmnw
Who knows the spirit of man, whether it goes upward, and the spirit of the animal, whether it goes downward to the earth?”

ܘܚܙܝܬ ܕܠܝܬ ܕܛܒ ܒܗܘܢ ܐܠܐ ܕܢܚܕܐ ܐܢܫ ܒܥܒ̈ܕܘܗܝ ܡܛܠ ܕܗܝ ܗܝ ܡܢܬܗ ܡܛܠ ܕܡܢܘ ܢܝܬܝܘܗܝ ܠܡܚܙܐ ܒܟܠ ܕܢܗܘܐ ܡܢ ܒܬܪܗ
bthrh mn dnhw' bkl lmkhz' nythywhy dmnw mTl mnthh hy dhy mTl bebdwhy 'nsh dnkhd' 'l' bhwn dTb dlyth wkhzyth
Therefore I saw that there is nothing better than that a man should rejoice in his works, for that is his portion; for who can bring him to see what will be after him?
