ܫܕܪ ܠܚܡܟ ܥܠ ܐ̈ܦܝ ܡ̈ܝܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܠܣܘܓܐܬ ܝܘܡ̈ܬܐ ܬܫܟܚܝܘܗܝ
thshkkhywhy ywmth' dlswg'th mTl my' 'py el lkhmk shdr
Cast your bread on the waters; for you shall find it after many days.

ܗܒ ܡܢܬܐ ܠܫܒܥܐ ܐܦ ܠܬܡܢܝܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܠܐ ܬܕܥ ܡܢܐ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܬܗܘܐ ܥܠ ܐܪܥܐ
're' el thhw' byshth' mn' thde dl' mTl lthmny' 'p lshbe' mnth' hb
Give a portion to seven, yes, even to eight; for you don’t know what evil will be on the earth.

ܐܢ ܢܡ̈ܠܝܢ ܥܢܢ̈ܝ ܡܛܪܐ ܥܠ ܐܪܥܐ ܢܐ̈ܫܕܢ ܘܐܢ ܢܦܠ ܩܝܣܐ ܒܬܝܡܢܐ ܐܘ ܒܐܬܪܐ ܕܓܪܒܝܐ ܐܬܪ ܕܢܦܠ ܩܝܣܐ ܬܡܢ ܢܗܘܐ
nhw' thmn qys' dnpl 'thr dgrby' b'thr' 'w bthymn' qys' npl w'n n'shdn 're' el mTr' enny nmlyn 'n
If the clouds are full of rain, they empty themselves on the earth; and if a tree falls toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falls, there shall it be.

ܕܢܛܪ ܠܪܘܚܐ ܠܐ ܙܪܥ ܘܕܚܐܪ ܠܥܢ̈ܢܐ ܠܐ ܚܨܕ
khtsd l' lenn' wdkh'r zre l' lrwkh' dnTr
He who observes the wind won’t sow; and he who regards the clouds won’t reap.

ܡܛܠ ܕܠܐ ܝܕܥ ܐܢܬ ܡܢܐ ܗܝ ܐܘܪܚܐ ܕܪܘܚܐ ܐܝܟ ܙܢܐ ܕܒܛܢܬܐ ܕܒܛܢܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܠܐ ܬܕܥ ܥܒ̈ܕܘܗܝ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܟܠ ܕܢܥܒܕ

As you don’t know what is the way of the wind, nor how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child; even so you don’t know the work of God who does all.

ܟܠ ܒܨܦܪܐ ܙܪܘܥ ܙܪܥܟ ܘܒܪܡܫܐ ܠܐ ܬܫܒܘܩ ܐܝܕܟ ܡܛܠ ܕܠܐ ܝܕܥ ܐܢܬ ܐܝܢܐ ܢܟܫܪ ܐܘ ܗܢܐ ܐܘ ܗܢܐ ܘܐܢ ܬܪ̈ܝܗܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܚܕ ܛܒ̈ܝܢ
Tbyn khd 'yk thryhwn w'n hn' 'w hn' 'w nkshr 'yn' 'nth yde dl' mTl 'ydk thshbwq l' wbrmsh' zrek zrwe btspr' kl
In the morning sow your seed, and in the evening don’t withhold your hand; for you don’t know which will prosper, whether this or that, or whether they both will be equally good.

ܚܠܐ ܢܘܗܪܐ ܘܛܒ ܠܥܝܢ̈ܐ ܠܡܚܙܐ ܫܡܫܐ
shmsh' lmkhz' leyn' wTb nwhr' khl'
Truly the light is sweet, and it is a pleasant thing for the eyes to see the sun.

ܡܛܠ ܕܐܢ ܫ̈ܢܝܢ ܣ̈ܓܝܐܢ ܢܚܐ ܒܪ ܐܢܫܐ ܒܟܠܗܝܢ ܢܚܕܐ ܘܢܬܕܟܪ ܝܘܡ̈ܝ ܚܫܘܟܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܣ̈ܓܝܐܐ ܢܗܘܘܢ ܟܠ ܕܐܬܐ ܗܒܠܐ
hbl' d'th' kl nhwwn dsgy'' mTl khshwk' ywmy wnthdkr nkhd' bklhyn 'nsh' br nkh' sgy'n shnyn d'n mTl
Yes, if a man lives many years, let him rejoice in them all; but let him remember the days of darkness, for they shall be many. All that comes is vanity.

ܒܝ̈ܘܡܝ ܥܠܝܡܘܬܟ ܚܕܝ ܥܠܝܡܐ ܘܢܛܐܒ ܠܟ ܘܗܠܟ ܒܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܐ ܕܠܒܟ ܘܒܚܙܘܐ ܕܥܝܢ̈ܝܟ ܘܕܥ ܕܒܗܠܝܢ ܟܠܗܝܢ ܡܥܠ ܠܟ ܡܪܝܐ ܒܕܝܢܐ
bdyn' mry' lk mel klhyn dbhlyn wde deynyk wbkhzw' dlbk b'wrkhth' whlk lk wnT'b elym' khdy elymwthk bywmy
Rejoice, young man, in your youth, and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth, and walk in the ways of your heart, and in the sight of your eyes; but know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment.
