ואתפנינא ונטלנא למדברא ארח ימא דסוף כמא די מליל יי עמי ואקפנא ית טורא דשעיר יומין סגיאין:
wathpnyna wnTlna lmdbra arkh yma dswp kma dy mlyl yy emy waqpna yth Twra dsheyr ywmyn sgyayn
Then we turned, and took our journey into the wilderness by the way to the Red Sea, as Yahweh spoke to me; and we encircled Mount Seir many days.

סגי לכון דאקפתון ית טורא הדין אתפניו לכון צפונא:
sgy lkwn daqpthwn yth Twra hdyn athpnyw lkwn tspwna
“You have encircled this mountain long enough. Turn northward.

וית עמא פקד למימר אתון עברין בתחום אחוכון בני עשו דיתבין בשעיר וידחלון מנכון ותסתמרון לחדא:
wyth ema pqd lmymr athwn ebryn bthkhwm akhwkwn bny eshw dythbyn bsheyr wydkhlwn mnkwn wthsthmrwn lkhda
Command the people, saying, ‘You are to pass through the border of your brothers, the children of Esau, who dwell in Seir; and they will be afraid of you. Therefore be careful.

לא תתגרון בהון ארי לא אתן לכון מארעהון עד מדרך פרסת רגלא ארי ירתא לעשו יהבית ית טורא דשעיר:
la ththgrwn bhwn ary la athn lkwn marehwn ed mdrk prsth rgla ary yrtha leshw yhbyth yth Twra dsheyr
Don’t contend with them; for I will not give you any of their land, no, not so much as for the sole of the foot to tread on, because I have given Mount Seir to Esau for a possession.

עבורא תזבנון מנהון בכספא ותיכלון ואף מיא תכרון מנהון בכספא ותשתון:
ebwra thzbnwn mnhwn bkspa wthyklwn wap mya thkrwn mnhwn bkspa wthshthwn
You shall purchase food from them for money, that you may eat. You shall also buy water from them for money, that you may drink.’”

ארי יי אלהך ברכך בכל עבד ידך ספק לך צרכך במהכך למדברא רבא הדין דנן ארבעין שנין מימרא דיי אלהך בסעדך לא מנעתא מדעם:
ary yy alhk brkk bkl ebd ydk spq lk tsrkk bmhkk lmdbra rba hdyn dnn arbeyn shnyn mymra dyy alhk bsedk la mnetha mdem
For Yahweh your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He has known your walking through this great wilderness. These forty years, Yahweh your God has been with you. You have lacked nothing.

ועברנא מקדם אחונא בני עשו דיתבין בשעיר מארח מישרא מאילת ומעציון גבר ואתפנינא ועברנא ארח מדברא דמואב:
webrna mqdm akhwna bny eshw dythbyn bsheyr markh myshra maylth wmetsywn gbr wathpnyna webrna arkh mdbra dmwab
So we passed by from our brothers, the children of Esau, who dwell in Seir, from the way of the Arabah from Elath and from Ezion Geber. We turned and passed by the way of the wilderness of Moab.

ואמר יי לי לא תצור על מואבאי ולא תתגרי למעבד עמהון קרב ארי לא אתן לך מארעיה ירתא ארי לבני לוט יהבית ית לחית ירתא:
wamr yy ly la thtswr el mwabay wla ththgry lmebd emhwn qrb ary la athn lk mareyh yrtha ary lbny lwT yhbyth yth lkhyth yrtha
Yahweh said to me, “Don’t bother Moab, neither contend with them in battle; for I will not give you any of his land for a possession, because I have given Ar to the children of Lot for a possession.”

אימתני מלקדמין יתיבו בה עם רב וסגי ותקיף כגבריא:
aymthny mlqdmyn ythybw bh em rb wsgy wthqyp kgbrya
(The Emim lived there before, a great and numerous people, and tall as the Anakim.

גבראי מתחשבין אף אנון כגבראי ומואבאי יקרן להון אימתני:
gbray mthkhshbyn ap anwn kgbray wmwabay yqrn lhwn aymthny
These also are considered to be Rephaim, as the Anakim; but the Moabites call them Emim.

ובשעיר יתיבו חראי מלקדמין ובני עשו תרכנון ושצינון מקדמיהון ויתיבו באתריהון כמא די עבד ישראל לארעא ירתתיה דיהב יי להון:
wbsheyr ythybw khray mlqdmyn wbny eshw thrknwn wshtsynwn mqdmyhwn wythybw bathryhwn kma dy ebd yshral larea yrththyh dyhb yy lhwn
The Horites also lived in Seir in the past, but the children of Esau succeeded them. They destroyed them from before them, and lived in their place, as Israel did to the land of his possession, which Yahweh gave to them.)

כען קומו ועברו לכון ית נחלא דזרד ועברנא ית נחלא דזרד:
ken qwmw webrw lkwn yth nkhla dzrd webrna yth nkhla dzrd
“Now rise up and cross over the brook Zered.” We went over the brook Zered.

ויומיא די הלכנא מרקם גיאה עד די עברנא ית נחלא דזרד תלתין ותמני שנין עד דסף כל דרא גברי מגיחי קרבא מגו משריתא כמא די קיים יי להון:
wywmya dy hlkna mrqm gyah ed dy ebrna yth nkhla dzrd thlthyn wthmny shnyn ed dsp kl dra gbry mgykhy qrba mgw mshrytha kma dy qyym yy lhwn
The days in which we came from Kadesh Barnea until we had come over the brook Zered were thirty-eight years, until all the generation of the men of war were consumed from the middle of the camp, as Yahweh swore to them.

ואף מחא מן קדם יי הות בהון לשציותהון מגו משריתא עד דשלימו:
wap mkha mn qdm yy hwth bhwn lshtsywthhwn mgw mshrytha ed dshlymw
Moreover Yahweh’s hand was against them, to destroy them from the middle of the camp, until they were consumed.

והוה כד שלימו כל גברי מגיחי קרבא לממת מגו עמא:
whwh kd shlymw kl gbry mgykhy qrba lmmth mgw ema
So, when all the men of war were consumed and dead from among the people,

את עבר יומא דין ית תחום מואב ית לחית:
ath ebr ywma dyn yth thkhwm mwab yth lkhyth
“You are to pass over Ar, the border of Moab, today.
19
ותקרב לקבל בני עמון לא תצור עליהון ולא תתגרי למעבד עמהון קרב ארי לא אתן מארעא בני עמון לך ירתא ארי לבני לוט יהבתה ירתא:
wthqrb lqbl bny emwn la thtswr elyhwn wla ththgry lmebd emhwn qrb ary la athn marea bny emwn lk yrtha ary lbny lwT yhbthh yrtha
When you come near the border of the children of Ammon, don’t bother them, nor contend with them; for I will not give you any of the land of the children of Ammon for a possession, because I have given it to the children of Lot for a possession.”

ארעא גבריא מתחשבא אף היא גבראי יתיבו בה מלקדמין ועמונאי קרן להון חשבני:

(That also is considered a land of Rephaim. Rephaim lived there in the past, but the Ammonites call them Zamzummim,

עם רב וסגי ותקיף כגבריא ושצנון יי מקדמיהון ותרכנון ויתיבו באתריהון:
em rb wsgy wthqyp kgbrya wshtsnwn yy mqdmyhwn wthrknwn wythybw bathryhwn
a great people, many, and tall, as the Anakim; but Yahweh destroyed them from before Israel, and they succeeded them, and lived in their place,

כמא די עבד לבני עשו דיתבין בשעיר די שצי ית חוראי מקדמיהון ותרכנון ויתיבו באתריהון עד יומא הדין:
kma dy ebd lbny eshw dythbyn bsheyr dy shtsy yth khwray mqdmyhwn wthrknwn wythybw bathryhwn ed ywma hdyn
as he did for the children of Esau who dwell in Seir, when he destroyed the Horites from before them; and they succeeded them, and lived in their place even to this day.

ועואי דיתבין בדפיח עד עזה קפוטקאי דנפקו מקפוטקיא שצנון ויתיבו באתריהון:
weway dythbyn bdpykh ed ezh qpwTqay dnpqw mqpwTqya shtsnwn wythybw bathryhwn
Then the Avvim, who lived in villages as far as Gaza: the Caphtorim, who came out of Caphtor, destroyed them and lived in their place.)

קומו טולו ועברו ית נחלא דארנן חזי דמסרית בידך ית סיחון מלכא דחשבון אמראה וית ארעיה שרי לתרכותיה ואתגרי למעבד עמיה קרבא:
qwmw Twlw webrw yth nkhla darnn khzy dmsryth bydk yth sykhwn mlka dkhshbwn amrah wyth areyh shry lthrkwthyh wathgry lmebd emyh qrba
“Rise up, take your journey, and pass over the valley of the Arnon. Behold, I have given into your hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land; begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle.

יומא הדין אשרי למתן זעתך ודחלתך על אפי עממיא די תחות כל שמיא די ישמעון שמעך ויזועון וידחלון מן קדמך:
ywma hdyn ashry lmthn zethk wdkhlthk el apy emmya dy thkhwth kl shmya dy yshmewn shmek wyzwewn wydkhlwn mn qdmk
Today I will begin to put the dread of you and the fear of you on the peoples who are under the whole sky, who shall hear the report of you, and shall tremble and be in anguish because of you.”

ושלחית אזגדין ממדברא דקדמות לות סיחון מלכא דחשבון פתגמי שלמא למימר:
wshlkhyth azgdyn mmdbra dqdmwth lwth sykhwn mlka dkhshbwn pthgmy shlma lmymr
I sent messengers out of the wilderness of Kedemoth to Sihon king of Heshbon with words of peace, saying,

אעבר בארעך בארחא בארחא אזל לא אסטי ימינא ושמאלא:
aebr barek barkha barkha azl la asTy ymyna wshmala
“Let me pass through your land. I will go along by the highway. I will turn neither to the right hand nor to the left.

עבורא בכספא תזבן לי ואיכול ומיא בכספא תתן לי ואשתי לחוד אעבר ברגלי:
ebwra bkspa thzbn ly waykwl wmya bkspa ththn ly washthy lkhwd aebr brgly
You shall sell me food for money, that I may eat; and give me water for money, that I may drink. Just let me pass through on my feet,

כמא די עבדו לי בני עשו דיתבין בשעיר ומואבאי דיתבין בלחית עד דאעבר ית ירדנא לארעא דיי אלהנא יהב לנא:
kma dy ebdw ly bny eshw dythbyn bsheyr wmwabay dythbyn blkhyth ed daebr yth yrdna larea dyy alhna yhb lna
as the children of Esau who dwell in Seir, and the Moabites who dwell in Ar, did to me, until I pass over the Jordan into the land which Yahweh our God gives us.”

ולא אבי סיחן מלכא דחשבון למשבקנא למעבר בתחומיה ארי אקשי יי אלהך ית רוחיה ותקיף ית לביה בדיל לממסריה בידך כיומא הדין:
wla aby sykhn mlka dkhshbwn lmshbqna lmebr bthkhwmyh ary aqshy yy alhk yth rwkhyh wthqyp yth lbyh bdyl lmmsryh bydk kywma hdyn
But Sihon king of Heshbon would not let us pass by him, for Yahweh your God hardened his spirit and made his heart obstinate, that he might deliver him into your hand, as it is today.

ואמר יי לי חזי שריתי לממסר קדמך ית סיחן וית ארעיה שרי לתרכותיה למירת ית ארעיה:
wamr yy ly khzy shrythy lmmsr qdmk yth sykhn wyth areyh shry lthrkwthyh lmyrth yth areyh
Yahweh said to me, “Behold, I have begun to deliver up Sihon and his land before you. Begin to possess, that you may inherit his land.”

ונפק סיחן לקדמותנא הוא וכל עמיה לאגחא קרבא ליהץ:
wnpq sykhn lqdmwthna hwa wkl emyh lagkha qrba lyhts
Then Sihon came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Jahaz.
33
ומסריה יי אלהנא קדמנא ומחנא יתיה וית בנוהי וית כל עמיה:
wmsryh yy alhna qdmna wmkhna ythyh wyth bnwhy wyth kl emyh
Yahweh our God delivered him up before us; and we struck him, his sons, and all his people.

וכבשנא ית כל קרווהי בעדנא ההיא וגמרנא ית כל קרוי גבריא ונשיא וטפלא לא אשארנא משזב:
wkbshna yth kl qrwwhy bedna hhya wgmrna yth kl qrwy gbrya wnshya wTpla la asharna mshzb
We took all his cities at that time, and utterly destroyed every inhabited city, with the women and the little ones. We left no one remaining.

לחוד בעירא בזנא לנא ועדי קרויא די כבשנא:
lkhwd beyra bzna lna wedy qrwya dy kbshna
Only the livestock we took for plunder for ourselves, with the plunder of the cities which we had taken.
36
מערער די על כיף נחלא דארנן וקרתא די בנחלא ועד גלעד לא הות קרתא די תקפת מננא ית כלא מסר יי אלהנא קדמנא:
merer dy el kyp nkhla darnn wqrtha dy bnkhla wed gled la hwth qrtha dy thqpth mnna yth kla msr yy alhna qdmna
From Aroer, which is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, and the city that is in the valley, even to Gilead, there was not a city too high for us. Yahweh our God delivered up all before us.
37
לחוד לארעא בני עמון לא קרבתא כל כיף נחלא יובקא וקרוי טורא וכל די פקיד יי אלהנא:
lkhwd larea bny emwn la qrbtha kl kyp nkhla ywbqa wqrwy Twra wkl dy pqyd yy alhna
Only to the land of the children of Ammon you didn’t come near: all the banks of the river Jabbok, and the cities of the hill country, and wherever Yahweh our God forbade us.
