לא תחזי ית תורא דאחוך או ית אמריה דטען ותתכבש מנהון אתבא תתבנון לאחוך:
la thkhzy yth thwra dakhwk aw yth amryh dTen wththkbsh mnhwn athba ththbnwn lakhwk
You shall not see your brother’s ox or his sheep go astray and hide yourself from them. You shall surely bring them again to your brother.

ואם לא קרב אחוך לותך ולא ידעת ליה ותכנשניה לגו ביתך ויהי עמך עד דיתבע אחוך יתיה ותתיבניה ליה:
wam la qrb akhwk lwthk wla ydeth lyh wthknshnyh lgw bythk wyhy emk ed dythbe akhwk ythyh wththybnyh lyh
If your brother isn’t near to you, or if you don’t know him, then you shall bring it home to your house, and it shall be with you until your brother comes looking for it, and you shall restore it to him.

וכן תעבד לחמריה וכן תעבד לכסותיה וכן תעבד לכל אבדת אחוך די תיבד מניה ותשכחנה לית לך רשו לאתכסאה:
wkn thebd lkhmryh wkn thebd lkswthyh wkn thebd lkl abdth akhwk dy thybd mnyh wthshkkhnh lyth lk rshw lathksah
So you shall do with his donkey. So you shall do with his garment. So you shall do with every lost thing of your brother’s, which he has lost and you have found. You may not hide yourself.

לא תחזי ית חמרא דאחוך או תוריה רמן בארחא ותתכבש מנהון אקמא תקים עמיה:
la thkhzy yth khmra dakhwk aw thwryh rmn barkha wththkbsh mnhwn aqma thqym emyh
You shall not see your brother’s donkey or his ox fallen down by the way, and hide yourself from them. You shall surely help him to lift them up again.

לא יהי תקון זין דגבר על אתתא ולא יתקן גבר בתקוני אתתא ארי מרחק קדם יי אלהך כל עבד אלין:
la yhy thqwn zyn dgbr el aththa wla ythqn gbr bthqwny aththa ary mrkhq qdm yy alhk kl ebd alyn
A woman shall not wear men’s clothing, neither shall a man put on women’s clothing; for whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh your God.

ארי יערע קנא דצפרא קדמך בארחא בכל אילן או על ארעא אפרחין או ביעין ואמא רבעא על אפרחין או על ביעין לא תסב אמא על בניא:
ary yere qna dtspra qdmk barkha bkl ayln aw el area aprkhyn aw byeyn wama rbea el aprkhyn aw el byeyn la thsb ama el bnya
If you come across a bird’s nest on the way, in any tree or on the ground, with young ones or eggs, and the hen sitting on the young, or on the eggs, you shall not take the hen with the young.

שלחא תשלח ית אמא וית בניא תסב לך בדיל דייטב לך ותוריך יומין:
shlkha thshlkh yth ama wyth bnya thsb lk bdyl dyyTb lk wthwryk ywmyn
You shall surely let the hen go, but the young you may take for yourself, that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days.

ארי תבני ביתא חדתא ותעבד תיקא לאגרך ולא תשוי חובת דין דקטול בביתך ארי יפל דנפל מניה:
ary thbny bytha khdtha wthebd thyqa lagrk wla thshwy khwbth dyn dqTwl bbythk ary ypl dnpl mnyh
When you build a new house, then you shall make a railing around your roof, so that you don’t bring blood on your house if anyone falls from there.

לא תזרע כרמך ערובין דילמא תסתאב דמעת זרעא די תזרע ועללת כרמא:
la thzre krmk erwbyn dylma thsthab dmeth zrea dy thzre wellth krma
You shall not sow your vineyard with two kinds of seed, lest all the fruit be defiled, the seed which you have sown, and the increase of the vineyard.

לא תרדי בתורא ובחמרא כחדא:
la thrdy bthwra wbkhmra kkhda
You shall not plow with an ox and a donkey together.

לא תלבש שעטנזא עמר וכתן מחבר כחדא:
la thlbsh sheTnza emr wkthn mkhbr kkhda
You shall not wear clothes of wool and linen woven together.

כרספדין תעבד לך על ארבע כנפי כסותך די תכסי בה:
krspdyn thebd lk el arbe knpy kswthk dy thksy bh
You shall make yourselves fringes on the four corners of your cloak with which you cover yourself.

ארי יסב גבר אתתא ויעול לותה ויסננה:
ary ysb gbr aththa wyewl lwthh wysnnh
If any man takes a wife, and goes in to her, hates her,

וישוי לה תסקופי מלין ויפק עלה שום ביש ויימר ית אתתא הדא נסבית ועלית לותה ולא אשכחית לה בתולין:
wyshwy lh thsqwpy mlyn wypq elh shwm bysh wyymr yth aththa hda nsbyth welyth lwthh wla ashkkhyth lh bthwlyn
accuses her of shameful things, gives her a bad name, and says, “I took this woman, and when I came near to her, I didn’t find in her the tokens of virginity;”

ויסב אבוהא דעולמתא ואמה ויפקון ית בתולי עולמתא לקדם סבי קרתא לתרע בית דין אתרא:
wysb abwha dewlmtha wamh wypqwn yth bthwly ewlmtha lqdm sby qrtha lthre byth dyn athra
then the young lady’s father and mother shall take and bring the tokens of the young lady’s virginity to the elders of the city in the gate.

ויימר אבוהא דעולמתא לסביא ית ברתי יהבית לגברא הדין לאנתו וסננה:
wyymr abwha dewlmtha lsbya yth brthy yhbyth lgbra hdyn lanthw wsnnh
The young lady’s father shall tell the elders, “I gave my daughter to this man as his wife, and he hates her.

והא הוא שוי תסקופי מלין למימר לא אשכחית לברתך בתולין ואלין בתולי ברתי ויפרסון שושיפא קדם סבי קרתא:
wha hwa shwy thsqwpy mlyn lmymr la ashkkhyth lbrthk bthwlyn walyn bthwly brthy wyprswn shwshypa qdm sby qrtha
Behold, he has accused her of shameful things, saying, ‘I didn’t find in your daughter the tokens of virginity;’ and yet these are the tokens of my daughter’s virginity.” They shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city.

וידברון סבי קרתא ההיא ית גברא וילקון יתיה:
wydbrwn sby qrtha hhya yth gbra wylqwn ythyh
The elders of that city shall take the man and chastise him.

ויגבון מניה מאה סלעין דכסף ויתנון לאבוהא דעולמתא ארי אפק שום ביש על בתולתא דישראל וליה תהי לאנתו לית ליה רשו למפטרה כל יומוהי:
wygbwn mnyh mah sleyn dksp wythnwn labwha dewlmtha ary apq shwm bysh el bthwltha dyshral wlyh thhy lanthw lyth lyh rshw lmpTrh kl ywmwhy
They shall fine him one hundred shekels of silver, and give them to the father of the young lady, because he has given a bad name to a virgin of Israel. She shall be his wife. He may not put her away all his days.

ואם קשטא הוה פתגמא הדין לא אשתכחו בתולין לעולמתא:
wam qshTa hwh pthgma hdyn la ashthkkhw bthwlyn lewlmtha
But if this thing is true, that the tokens of virginity were not found in the young lady,
21
ויפקון ית עולמתא לתרע בית אבוהא וירגמנה אנשי קרתה באבניא ותמות ארי עבדת קלנא בישראל לזנאה בית אבוהא ותפלי עבד דביש מבינך:
wypqwn yth ewlmtha lthre byth abwha wyrgmnh anshy qrthh babnya wthmwth ary ebdth qlna byshral lznah byth abwha wthply ebd dbysh mbynk
then they shall bring out the young lady to the door of her father’s house, and the men of her city shall stone her to death with stones, because she has done folly in Israel, to play the prostitute in her father’s house. So you shall remove the evil from among you.

ארי ישתכח גבר דשכב עם אתתא אתת גבר ויתקטלון אף תרויהון גברא דשכב עם אתתא ואתתא ותפלי עבד דביש מישראל:
ary yshthkkh gbr dshkb em aththa athth gbr wythqTlwn ap thrwyhwn gbra dshkb em aththa waththa wthply ebd dbysh myshral
If a man is found lying with a woman married to a husband, then they shall both die, the man who lay with the woman and the woman. So you shall remove the evil from Israel.

ארי תהי עולמתא בתלתא דמארסא לגבר וישכחנה גבר בקרתא וישכוב עמה:
ary thhy ewlmtha bthltha dmarsa lgbr wyshkkhnh gbr bqrtha wyshkwb emh
If there is a young lady who is a virgin pledged to be married to a husband, and a man finds her in the city, and lies with her,

ותפקון ית תרויהון לתרע קרתא ההיא ותרגמון יתהון באבניא וימותון ית עולמתא על עסק די לא צוחת בקרתא וית גברא על עסק דעני ית אתת חבריה ותפלי עבד דביש מבינך:
wthpqwn yth thrwyhwn lthre qrtha hhya wthrgmwn ythhwn babnya wymwthwn yth ewlmtha el esq dy la tswkhth bqrtha wyth gbra el esq deny yth athth khbryh wthply ebd dbysh mbynk
then you shall bring them both out to the gate of that city, and you shall stone them to death with stones; the lady, because she didn’t cry, being in the city; and the man, because he has humbled his neighbor’s wife. So you shall remove the evil from among you.

ואם בחקלא ישכח גבר ית עולמתא דמארסא ויתקף בה גברא וישכוב עמה ויתקטל גברא דשכב עמה בלחודוהי:
wam bkhqla yshkkh gbr yth ewlmtha dmarsa wythqp bh gbra wyshkwb emh wythqTl gbra dshkb emh blkhwdwhy
But if the man finds the lady who is pledged to be married in the field, and the man forces her and lies with her, then only the man who lay with her shall die;

ולעולמתא לא תעבד מדעם לית לעולמתא חובת דין דקטול ארי כמא דיקום גברא על חבריה ויקטלניה נפש כן פתגמא הדין:
wlewlmtha la thebd mdem lyth lewlmtha khwbth dyn dqTwl ary kma dyqwm gbra el khbryh wyqTlnyh npsh kn pthgma hdyn
but to the lady you shall do nothing. There is in the lady no sin worthy of death; for as when a man rises against his neighbor and kills him, even so is this matter;

ארי בחקלא אשכחה צוחת עולמתא דמארסא ולית דפריק לה:
ary bkhqla ashkkhh tswkhth ewlmtha dmarsa wlyth dpryq lh
for he found her in the field, the pledged to be married lady cried, and there was no one to save her.

ארי ישכח גבר עולמתא בתלתא די לא מארסא ויחדנה וישכוב עמה וישתכחון:
ary yshkkh gbr ewlmtha bthltha dy la marsa wykhdnh wyshkwb emh wyshthkkhwn
If a man finds a lady who is a virgin, who is not pledged to be married, grabs her and lies with her, and they are found,

ויתן גברא דישכב עמה לאבוהא דעולמתא חמשין סלעין דכסף וליה תהי לאנתו חלף די עניה לית ליה רשו למפטרה כל יומוהי:
wythn gbra dyshkb emh labwha dewlmtha khmshyn sleyn dksp wlyh thhy lanthw khlp dy enyh lyth lyh rshw lmpTrh kl ywmwhy
then the man who lay with her shall give to the lady’s father fifty shekels of silver. She shall be his wife, because he has humbled her. He may not put her away all his days.
