ארי תפוק לאגחא קרבא על בעלי דבבך ותחזי סוסון ורתכין עם סגי מנך לא תדחל מנהון ארי יי אלהך מימריה בסעדך דאסקך מארעא דמצרים:
ary thpwq lagkha qrba el bely dbbk wthkhzy swswn wrthkyn em sgy mnk la thdkhl mnhwn ary yy alhk mymryh bsedk dasqk marea dmtsrym
When you go out to battle against your enemies, and see horses, chariots, and a people more numerous than you, you shall not be afraid of them; for Yahweh your God, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt, is with you.

ויהי כמקרבכון לאגחא קרבא ויתקריב כהנא וימלל עם עמא:
wyhy kmqrbkwn lagkha qrba wythqryb khna wymll em ema
It shall be, when you draw near to the battle, that the priest shall approach and speak to the people,

ויימר להון שמע ישראל אתון קריבין יומא דין לאגחא קרבא על בעלי דבביכון לא יזוע לבכון לא תדחלון ולא תתבהתון ולא תתברון מקדמיהון:
wyymr lhwn shme yshral athwn qrybyn ywma dyn lagkha qrba el bely dbbykwn la yzwe lbkwn la thdkhlwn wla ththbhthwn wla ththbrwn mqdmyhwn
and shall tell them, “Hear, Israel, you draw near today to battle against your enemies. Don’t let your heart faint! Don’t be afraid, nor tremble, neither be scared of them;

ארי יי אלהכון דמדבר קדמיכון לאגחא לכון קרב עם בעלי דבביכון למפרק יתכון:
ary yy alhkwn dmdbr qdmykwn lagkha lkwn qrb em bely dbbykwn lmprq ythkwn
for Yahweh your God is he who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.”

וימללון סרכיא קדם עמא למימר מן גברא די בנא ביתא חדתא ולא חנכיה יהך ויתוב לביתיה דילמא ימות באגחא קרבא וגבר אחרן יחנכניה:
wymllwn srkya qdm ema lmymr mn gbra dy bna bytha khdtha wla khnkyh yhk wythwb lbythyh dylma ymwth bagkha qrba wgbr akhrn ykhnknyh
The officers shall speak to the people, saying, “What man is there who has built a new house, and has not dedicated it? Let him go and return to his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man dedicate it.

ומן גברא די נציב כרמא ולא אחליה יהך ויתוב לביתיה דילמא ימות באגחא קרבא וגבר אחרן יחלניה:
wmn gbra dy ntsyb krma wla akhlyh yhk wythwb lbythyh dylma ymwth bagkha qrba wgbr akhrn ykhlnyh
What man is there who has planted a vineyard, and has not used its fruit? Let him go and return to his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man use its fruit.

ומן גברא די ארס אתתא ולא נסבה יהך ויתוב לביתיה דילמא ימות באגחא קרבא וגבר אחרן יסבנה:
wmn gbra dy ars aththa wla nsbh yhk wythwb lbythyh dylma ymwth bagkha qrba wgbr akhrn ysbnh
What man is there who has pledged to be married to a wife, and has not taken her? Let him go and return to his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man take her.”

ויוספון סרכיא למללא עם עמא ויימרון מן גברא דדחל ותביר לבא יהך ויתוב לביתיה ולא יתבר ית לבא דאחוהי כלביה:
wywspwn srkya lmlla em ema wyymrwn mn gbra ddkhl wthbyr lba yhk wythwb lbythyh wla ythbr yth lba dakhwhy klbyh
The officers shall speak further to the people, and they shall say, “What man is there who is fearful and faint-hearted? Let him go and return to his house, lest his brother’s heart melt as his heart.”

ויהי כד ישצון סרכיא למללא עם עמא וימנון רבני חילא בריש עמא:
wyhy kd yshtswn srkya lmlla em ema wymnwn rbny khyla brysh ema
It shall be, when the officers have finished speaking to the people, that they shall appoint captains of armies at the head of the people.

ארי תקרב לקרתא לאגחא עלה ותקרי לה מלין דשלם:
ary thqrb lqrtha lagkha elh wthqry lh mlyn dshlm
When you draw near to a city to fight against it, then proclaim peace to it.

ויהי אם שלם תעננך ותפתח לך ויהי כל עמא דישתכח בה יהון לך מסקי מסין ויפלחנך:
wyhy am shlm thennk wthpthkh lk wyhy kl ema dyshthkkh bh yhwn lk msqy msyn wyplkhnk
It shall be, if it gives you answer of peace and opens to you, then it shall be that all the people who are found therein shall become forced laborers to you, and shall serve you.

ואם לא תשלם עמך ותעבד עמך קרב ותצור עלה:
wam la thshlm emk wthebd emk qrb wthtswr elh
If it will make no peace with you, but will make war against you, then you shall besiege it.

וימסרנה יי אלהך בידך ותמחי ית כל דכורה לפתגם דחרב:
wymsrnh yy alhk bydk wthmkhy yth kl dkwrh lpthgm dkhrb
When Yahweh your God delivers it into your hand, you shall strike every male of it with the edge of the sword;

לחוד נשיא וטפלא ובעירא וכל די יהי בקרתא כל עדאה תבוז לך ותיכול ית עדאה דסנאך די יהב יי אלהך לך:
lkhwd nshya wTpla wbeyra wkl dy yhy bqrtha kl edah thbwz lk wthykwl yth edah dsnak dy yhb yy alhk lk
but the women, the little ones, the livestock, and all that is in the city, even all its plunder, you shall take for plunder for yourself. You may use the plunder of your enemies, which Yahweh your God has given you.

כן תעבד לכל קרויא די רחיקין מנך לחדא די לא מקרוי עממיא האלין אנון:
kn thebd lkl qrwya dy rkhyqyn mnk lkhda dy la mqrwy emmya halyn anwn
Thus you shall do to all the cities which are very far off from you, which are not of the cities of these nations.

לחוד מקרוי עממיא האלין די יי אלהך יהב לך אחסנא לא תקים כל נשמתא:
lkhwd mqrwy emmya halyn dy yy alhk yhb lk akhsna la thqym kl nshmtha
But of the cities of these peoples that Yahweh your God gives you for an inheritance, you shall save alive nothing that breathes;

ארי גמרא תגמרנון חתאי ואמראי כנענאי ופרזאי חואי ויבוסאי כמא די פקדך יי אלהך:
ary gmra thgmrnwn khthay wamray knenay wprzay khway wybwsay kma dy pqdk yy alhk
but you shall utterly destroy them: the Hittite, the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, as Yahweh your God has commanded you;

בדיל די לא ילפון יתכון למעבד ככל תועבתהון די עבדו לטעותהון ותחובון קדם יי אלהכון:
bdyl dy la ylpwn ythkwn lmebd kkl thwebthhwn dy ebdw lTewthhwn wthkhwbwn qdm yy alhkwn
that they not teach you to follow all their abominations, which they have done for their gods; so would you sin against Yahweh your God.

ארי תצור לקרתא יומין סגיאין לאגחא עלה למכבשה לא תחבל ית אילנה לארמא עלוהי גרזנא ארי מניה תיכול ויתיה לא תקוץ ארי לא כאנשא אילן חקלא למיעל מקדמך בצירא:
ary thtswr lqrtha ywmyn sgyayn lagkha elh lmkbshh la thkhbl yth aylnh larma elwhy grzna ary mnyh thykwl wythyh la thqwts ary la kansha ayln khqla lmyel mqdmk btsyra
When you shall besiege a city a long time, in making war against it to take it, you shall not destroy its trees by wielding an ax against them; for you may eat of them. You shall not cut them down, for is the tree of the field man, that it should be besieged by you?

לחוד אילן דתדע ארי לא אילן דמאכל הוא יתיה תחבל ותקוץ ותבני כרקומין על קרתא די היא עבדא עמך קרבא עד דתכבשה:
lkhwd ayln dthde ary la ayln dmakl hwa ythyh thkhbl wthqwts wthbny krqwmyn el qrtha dy hya ebda emk qrba ed dthkbshh
Only the trees that you know are not trees for food, you shall destroy and cut them down. You shall build bulwarks against the city that makes war with you, until it falls.
