ארי ישצי יי אלהך ית עממיא די יי אלהך יהב לך ית ארעהון ותירתנון ותיתב בקרויהון ובבתיהון:
wbbthyhwn bqrwyhwn wthythb wthyrthnwn arehwn yth lk yhb alhk yy dy emmya yth alhk yy yshtsy ary
When Yahweh your God cuts off the nations whose land Yahweh your God gives you, and you succeed them and dwell in their cities and in their houses,

תלת קרוין תפרש לך בגו ארעך די יי אלהך יהב לך למירתה:
lmyrthh lk yhb alhk yy dy arek bgw lk thprsh qrwyn thlth
you shall set apart three cities for yourselves in the middle of your land, which Yahweh your God gives you to possess.

תתקן לך ארחא ותתלת ית תחום ארעך די יחסננך יי אלהך ויהי למעירוק תמן כל קטולא:
qTwla kl thmn lmeyrwq wyhy alhk yy ykhsnnk dy arek thkhwm yth wththlth arkha lk ththqn
You shall prepare the way, and divide the borders of your land which Yahweh your God causes you to inherit into three parts, that every man slayer may flee there.

ודין פתגם קטולא דיערוק תמן ויתקים די יקטול ית חבריה בלא מנדעיה והוא לא סני ליה מאתמלי ומדקמוהי:
wmdqmwhy mathmly lyh sny la whwa mndeyh bla khbryh yth yqTwl dy wythqym thmn dyerwq qTwla pthgm wdyn
This is the case of the man slayer who shall flee there and live: Whoever kills his neighbor unintentionally, and didn’t hate him in time past—

ודי יעול עם חבריה בחרשא למקץ אעין ותתמרג ידיה בפרזלא למקץ אעין וישתלף פרזלא מן אעא וישכח ית חבריה וימות הוא יערוק לחדא מן קרויא האלין ויתקים:
wythqym halyn qrwya mn lkhda yerwq hwa wymwth khbryh yth wyshkkh aea mn przla wyshthlp aeyn lmqts bprzla ydyh wththmrg aeyn lmqts bkhrsha khbryh em yewl wdy
as when a man goes into the forest with his neighbor to chop wood and his hand swings the ax to cut down the tree, and the head slips from the handle and hits his neighbor so that he dies—he shall flee to one of these cities and live.

דילמא ירדוף גאל דמא בתר קטולא ארי יחם לביה וידבקניה ארי תסגי ארחא ויקטלניה נפש וליה לית חובת דין דקטול ארי לא סני הוא ליה מתמלי ומדקמוהי:
wmdqmwhy mthmly lyh hwa sny la ary dqTwl dyn khwbth lyth wlyh npsh wyqTlnyh arkha thsgy ary wydbqnyh lbyh ykhm ary qTwla bthr dma gal yrdwp dylma
Otherwise, the avenger of blood might pursue the man slayer while hot anger is in his heart and overtake him, because the way is long, and strike him mortally, even though he was not worthy of death, because he didn’t hate him in time past.

על כן אנא מפקדך למימר תלת קרוין תפרש לך:
lk thprsh qrwyn thlth lmymr mpqdk ana kn el
Therefore I command you to set apart three cities for yourselves.

ואם יפתי יי אלהך ית תחומך כמא די קיים לאבהתך ויתן לך ית כל ארעא די מליל למתן לאבהתך:
labhthk lmthn mlyl dy area kl yth lk wythn labhthk qyym dy kma thkhwmk yth alhk yy ypthy wam
If Yahweh your God enlarges your border, as he has sworn to your fathers, and gives you all the land which he promised to give to your fathers;

ארי תטר ית כל תפקדתא הדא למעבדה די אנא מפקדך יומא דין למרחם ית יי אלהך ולמהך בארחן דתקנן קדמוהי כל יומיא ותוסף לך עוד תלת קרוין על תלת אלין:
alyn thlth el qrwyn thlth ewd lk wthwsp ywmya kl qdmwhy dthqnn barkhn wlmhk alhk yy yth lmrkhm dyn ywma mpqdk ana dy lmebdh hda thpqdtha kl yth thTr ary
and if you keep all this commandment to do it, which I command you today, to love Yahweh your God, and to walk ever in his ways, then you shall add three cities more for yourselves, in addition to these three.

ולא ישתפך דם זכי בגו ארעך די יי אלהך יהב לך אחסנא ויהי עלך חובת דין דקטול:
dqTwl dyn khwbth elk wyhy akhsna lk yhb alhk yy dy arek bgw zky dm yshthpk wla
This is so that innocent blood will not be shed in the middle of your land which Yahweh your God gives you for an inheritance, leaving blood guilt on you.

וארי יהי גבר סני לחבריה ויכמן ליה ויקום עלוהי וימחניה נפש וימות ויערוק לחדא מן קרויא האלין:
halyn qrwya mn lkhda wyerwq wymwth npsh wymkhnyh elwhy wyqwm lyh wykmn lkhbryh sny gbr yhy wary
But if any man hates his neighbor, lies in wait for him, rises up against him, strikes him mortally so that he dies, and he flees into one of these cities;

וישלחון סבי קרתיה וידברון יתיה מתמן ויתנון יתיה ביד גאל דמא וימות:
wymwth dma gal byd ythyh wythnwn mthmn ythyh wydbrwn qrthyh sby wyshlkhwn
then the elders of his city shall send and bring him there, and deliver him into the hand of the avenger of blood, that he may die.

לא תחוס עינך עלוהי ותפלי אשדי דם זכי מישראל וייטב לך:
lk wyyTb myshral zky dm ashdy wthply elwhy eynk thkhws la
Your eye shall not pity him, but you shall purge the innocent blood from Israel that it may go well with you.

לא תשני תחומא דחברך די תחימו קדמאי באחסנתך די תחסן בארעא די יי אלהך יהב לך למירתה:
lmyrthh lk yhb alhk yy dy barea thkhsn dy bakhsnthk qdmay thkhymw dy dkhbrk thkhwma thshny la
You shall not remove your neighbor’s landmark, which they of old time have set, in your inheritance which you shall inherit, in the land that Yahweh your God gives you to possess.

לא יקום סהיד חד בגבר לכל עוין ולכל חובין בכל חט די יחטא על מימר תרין סהדין או על מימר תלתא סהדין יתקים פתגמא:
pthgma ythqym shdyn thltha mymr el aw shdyn thryn mymr el ykhTa dy khT bkl khwbyn wlkl ewyn lkl bgbr khd shyd yqwm la
One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin that he sins. At the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall a matter be established.

ארי יקום סהיד שקר בגבר לאסהדא ביה סטיא:
sTya byh lashda bgbr shqr shyd yqwm ary
If an unrighteous witness rises up against any man to testify against him of wrongdoing,
17
ויקומון תרין גברין די להון דינא קדם יי קדם כהניא ודיניא די יהון ביומיא האנון:
hanwn bywmya yhwn dy wdynya khnya qdm yy qdm dyna lhwn dy gbryn thryn wyqwmwn
then both the men, between whom the controversy is, shall stand before Yahweh, before the priests and the judges who shall be in those days;

ויתבעון דיניא יאות והא סהיד שקר סהדא שקרא אסהד באחוהי:
bakhwhy ashd shqra shda shqr shyd wha yawth dynya wythbewn
and the judges shall make diligent inquisition; and behold, if the witness is a false witness, and has testified falsely against his brother,
19
ותעבדון ליה כמא די חשיב למעבד לאחוהי ותפלי עבד דביש מבינך:
mbynk dbysh ebd wthply lakhwhy lmebd khshyb dy kma lyh wthebdwn
then you shall do to him as he had thought to do to his brother. So you shall remove the evil from among you.
20
ודישתארון ישמעון וידחלון ולא יוספון למעבד עוד כפתגמא בישא הדין בינך:
bynk hdyn bysha kpthgma ewd lmebd ywspwn wla wydkhlwn yshmewn wdyshtharwn
Those who remain shall hear, and fear, and will never again commit any such evil among you.
