ארי ישצי יי אלהך ית עממיא די יי אלהך יהב לך ית ארעהון ותירתנון ותיתב בקרויהון ובבתיהון:
ary yshtsy yy alhk yth emmya dy yy alhk yhb lk yth arehwn wthyrthnwn wthythb bqrwyhwn wbbthyhwn
When Yahweh your God cuts off the nations whose land Yahweh your God gives you, and you succeed them and dwell in their cities and in their houses,

תלת קרוין תפרש לך בגו ארעך די יי אלהך יהב לך למירתה:
thlth qrwyn thprsh lk bgw arek dy yy alhk yhb lk lmyrthh
you shall set apart three cities for yourselves in the middle of your land, which Yahweh your God gives you to possess.

תתקן לך ארחא ותתלת ית תחום ארעך די יחסננך יי אלהך ויהי למעירוק תמן כל קטולא:
ththqn lk arkha wththlth yth thkhwm arek dy ykhsnnk yy alhk wyhy lmeyrwq thmn kl qTwla
You shall prepare the way, and divide the borders of your land which Yahweh your God causes you to inherit into three parts, that every man slayer may flee there.

ודין פתגם קטולא דיערוק תמן ויתקים די יקטול ית חבריה בלא מנדעיה והוא לא סני ליה מאתמלי ומדקמוהי:
wdyn pthgm qTwla dyerwq thmn wythqym dy yqTwl yth khbryh bla mndeyh whwa la sny lyh mathmly wmdqmwhy
This is the case of the man slayer who shall flee there and live: Whoever kills his neighbor unintentionally, and didn’t hate him in time past—

ודי יעול עם חבריה בחרשא למקץ אעין ותתמרג ידיה בפרזלא למקץ אעין וישתלף פרזלא מן אעא וישכח ית חבריה וימות הוא יערוק לחדא מן קרויא האלין ויתקים:
wdy yewl em khbryh bkhrsha lmqts aeyn wththmrg ydyh bprzla lmqts aeyn wyshthlp przla mn aea wyshkkh yth khbryh wymwth hwa yerwq lkhda mn qrwya halyn wythqym
as when a man goes into the forest with his neighbor to chop wood and his hand swings the ax to cut down the tree, and the head slips from the handle and hits his neighbor so that he dies—he shall flee to one of these cities and live.

דילמא ירדוף גאל דמא בתר קטולא ארי יחם לביה וידבקניה ארי תסגי ארחא ויקטלניה נפש וליה לית חובת דין דקטול ארי לא סני הוא ליה מתמלי ומדקמוהי:
dylma yrdwp gal dma bthr qTwla ary ykhm lbyh wydbqnyh ary thsgy arkha wyqTlnyh npsh wlyh lyth khwbth dyn dqTwl ary la sny hwa lyh mthmly wmdqmwhy
Otherwise, the avenger of blood might pursue the man slayer while hot anger is in his heart and overtake him, because the way is long, and strike him mortally, even though he was not worthy of death, because he didn’t hate him in time past.

על כן אנא מפקדך למימר תלת קרוין תפרש לך:
el kn ana mpqdk lmymr thlth qrwyn thprsh lk
Therefore I command you to set apart three cities for yourselves.

ואם יפתי יי אלהך ית תחומך כמא די קיים לאבהתך ויתן לך ית כל ארעא די מליל למתן לאבהתך:
wam ypthy yy alhk yth thkhwmk kma dy qyym labhthk wythn lk yth kl area dy mlyl lmthn labhthk
If Yahweh your God enlarges your border, as he has sworn to your fathers, and gives you all the land which he promised to give to your fathers;

ארי תטר ית כל תפקדתא הדא למעבדה די אנא מפקדך יומא דין למרחם ית יי אלהך ולמהך בארחן דתקנן קדמוהי כל יומיא ותוסף לך עוד תלת קרוין על תלת אלין:
ary thTr yth kl thpqdtha hda lmebdh dy ana mpqdk ywma dyn lmrkhm yth yy alhk wlmhk barkhn dthqnn qdmwhy kl ywmya wthwsp lk ewd thlth qrwyn el thlth alyn
and if you keep all this commandment to do it, which I command you today, to love Yahweh your God, and to walk ever in his ways, then you shall add three cities more for yourselves, in addition to these three.

ולא ישתפך דם זכי בגו ארעך די יי אלהך יהב לך אחסנא ויהי עלך חובת דין דקטול:
wla yshthpk dm zky bgw arek dy yy alhk yhb lk akhsna wyhy elk khwbth dyn dqTwl
This is so that innocent blood will not be shed in the middle of your land which Yahweh your God gives you for an inheritance, leaving blood guilt on you.

וארי יהי גבר סני לחבריה ויכמן ליה ויקום עלוהי וימחניה נפש וימות ויערוק לחדא מן קרויא האלין:
wary yhy gbr sny lkhbryh wykmn lyh wyqwm elwhy wymkhnyh npsh wymwth wyerwq lkhda mn qrwya halyn
But if any man hates his neighbor, lies in wait for him, rises up against him, strikes him mortally so that he dies, and he flees into one of these cities;

וישלחון סבי קרתיה וידברון יתיה מתמן ויתנון יתיה ביד גאל דמא וימות:
wyshlkhwn sby qrthyh wydbrwn ythyh mthmn wythnwn ythyh byd gal dma wymwth
then the elders of his city shall send and bring him there, and deliver him into the hand of the avenger of blood, that he may die.

לא תחוס עינך עלוהי ותפלי אשדי דם זכי מישראל וייטב לך:
la thkhws eynk elwhy wthply ashdy dm zky myshral wyyTb lk
Your eye shall not pity him, but you shall purge the innocent blood from Israel that it may go well with you.
14
לא תשני תחומא דחברך די תחימו קדמאי באחסנתך די תחסן בארעא די יי אלהך יהב לך למירתה:
la thshny thkhwma dkhbrk dy thkhymw qdmay bakhsnthk dy thkhsn barea dy yy alhk yhb lk lmyrthh
You shall not remove your neighbor’s landmark, which they of old time have set, in your inheritance which you shall inherit, in the land that Yahweh your God gives you to possess.

לא יקום סהיד חד בגבר לכל עוין ולכל חובין בכל חט די יחטא על מימר תרין סהדין או על מימר תלתא סהדין יתקים פתגמא:
la yqwm shyd khd bgbr lkl ewyn wlkl khwbyn bkl khT dy ykhTa el mymr thryn shdyn aw el mymr thltha shdyn ythqym pthgma
One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin that he sins. At the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall a matter be established.

ארי יקום סהיד שקר בגבר לאסהדא ביה סטיא:
ary yqwm shyd shqr bgbr lashda byh sTya
If an unrighteous witness rises up against any man to testify against him of wrongdoing,
17
ויקומון תרין גברין די להון דינא קדם יי קדם כהניא ודיניא די יהון ביומיא האנון:
wyqwmwn thryn gbryn dy lhwn dyna qdm yy qdm khnya wdynya dy yhwn bywmya hanwn
then both the men, between whom the controversy is, shall stand before Yahweh, before the priests and the judges who shall be in those days;
18
ויתבעון דיניא יאות והא סהיד שקר סהדא שקרא אסהד באחוהי:
wythbewn dynya yawth wha shyd shqr shda shqra ashd bakhwhy
and the judges shall make diligent inquisition; and behold, if the witness is a false witness, and has testified falsely against his brother,
19
ותעבדון ליה כמא די חשיב למעבד לאחוהי ותפלי עבד דביש מבינך:
wthebdwn lyh kma dy khshyb lmebd lakhwhy wthply ebd dbysh mbynk
then you shall do to him as he had thought to do to his brother. So you shall remove the evil from among you.
20
ודישתארון ישמעון וידחלון ולא יוספון למעבד עוד כפתגמא בישא הדין בינך:
wdyshtharwn yshmewn wydkhlwn wla ywspwn lmebd ewd kpthgma bysha hdyn bynk
Those who remain shall hear, and fear, and will never again commit any such evil among you.

ולא תחוס עינך נפשא חלף נפשא עינא חלף עינא שנא חלף שנא ידא חלף ידא רגלא חלף רגלא:
wla thkhws eynk npsha khlp npsha eyna khlp eyna shna khlp shna yda khlp yda rgla khlp rgla
Your eyes shall not pity: life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.
