1
ית כל פתגמא די אנא מפקד יתכון יתיה תטרון למעבד לא תוספון עלוהי ולא תמנעון מניה:
mnyh thmnewn wla elwhy thwspwn la lmebd thTrwn ythyh ythkwn mpqd ana dy pthgma kl yth
If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you, and he gives you a sign or a wonder,

ארי יקום בינך נביא או חלם חלמא ויתן לך את או מופתא:
mwptha aw ath lk wythn khlma khlm aw nbya bynk yqwm ary
and the sign or the wonder comes to pass, of which he spoke to you, saying, “Let’s go after other gods” (which you have not known) “and let’s serve them,”

וייתי אתא ומופתא די מליל עמך למימר נהך בתר טעות עממיא די לא ידעתנון ונפלחנון:
wnplkhnwn ydethnwn la dy emmya Tewth bthr nhk lmymr emk mlyl dy wmwptha atha wyythy
you shall not listen to the words of that prophet, or to that dreamer of dreams; for Yahweh your God is testing you, to know whether you love Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

לא תקבל לפתגמי נביא ההוא או לחלם חלמא ההוא ארי מנסי יי אלהכון יתכון למדע האיתיכון רחמין ית יי אלהכון בכל לבכון ובכל נפשכון:
npshkwn wbkl lbkwn bkl alhkwn yy yth rkhmyn haythykwn lmde ythkwn alhkwn yy mnsy ary hhwa khlma lkhlm aw hhwa nbya lpthgmy thqbl la
You shall walk after Yahweh your God, fear him, keep his commandments, and obey his voice. You shall serve him, and cling to him.

בתר דחלתא דיי אלהכון תהכון ויתיה תדחלון וית פקודוהי תטרון ולמימריה תקבלון וקדמוהי תפלחון ובדחלתיה תתקרבון:
ththqrbwn wbdkhlthyh thplkhwn wqdmwhy thqblwn wlmymryh thTrwn pqwdwhy wyth thdkhlwn wythyh thhkwn alhkwn dyy dkhltha bthr
That prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death, because he has spoken rebellion against Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to draw you aside out of the way which Yahweh your God commanded you to walk in. So you shall remove the evil from among you.

ונביא ההוא או חלם חלמא ההוא יתקטל ארי מליל סטיא על יי אלהכון די אפיק יתכון מארעא דמצרים ודפרקך מבית עבדותא לאטעיותך מן ארחא די פקדך יי אלהך למהך בה ותפלי עבד דביש מבינך:
mbynk dbysh ebd wthply bh lmhk alhk yy pqdk dy arkha mn laTeywthk ebdwtha mbyth wdprqk dmtsrym marea ythkwn apyq dy alhkwn yy el sTya mlyl ary ythqTl hhwa khlma khlm aw hhwa wnbya
If your brother, the son of your mother, or your son, or your daughter, or the wife of your bosom, or your friend who is as your own soul, entices you secretly, saying, “Let’s go and serve other gods”—which you have not known, you, nor your fathers;

ארי ימלכנך אחוך בר אמך או ברך או ברתך או אתת קימך או חברך די כנפשך בסתרא למימר נהך ונפלח לטעות עממיא די לא ידעת את ואבהתך:
wabhthk ath ydeth la dy emmya lTewth wnplkh nhk lmymr bsthra knpshk dy khbrk aw qymk athth aw brthk aw brk aw amk br akhwk ymlknk ary
of the gods of the peoples who are around you, near to you, or far off from you, from the one end of the earth even to the other end of the earth—

מטעות עממיא די בסחרניכון דקריבין לך או דרחיקין מנך מסיפי ארעא ועד סיפי ארעא:
area sypy wed area msypy mnk drkhyqyn aw lk dqrybyn bskhrnykwn dy emmya mTewth
you shall not consent to him nor listen to him; neither shall your eye pity him, neither shall you spare, neither shall you conceal him;

לא תיבי ליה ולא תקבל מניה ולא תחוס עינך עלוהי ולא תרחם ולא תכסי עלוהי:
elwhy thksy wla thrkhm wla elwhy eynk thkhws wla mnyh thqbl wla lyh thyby la
but you shall surely kill him. Your hand shall be first on him to put him to death, and afterwards the hands of all the people.

ארי מקטל תקטלניה ידך תהי ביה בקדמיתא למקטליה וידא דכל עמא בבתריתא:
bbthrytha ema dkl wyda lmqTlyh bqdmytha byh thhy ydk thqTlnyh mqTl ary
You shall stone him to death with stones, because he has sought to draw you away from Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

ותרגמניה באבניא וימות ארי בעא לאטעיותך מדחלתא דיי אלהך די אפקך מארעא דמצרים מבית עבדותא:
ebdwtha mbyth dmtsrym marea apqk dy alhk dyy mdkhltha laTeywthk bea ary wymwth babnya wthrgmnyh
All Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall not do any more wickedness like this among you.

וכל ישראל ישמעון וידחלון ולא יוספון למעבד כפתגמא בישא הדין בינך:
bynk hdyn bysha kpthgma lmebd ywspwn wla wydkhlwn yshmewn yshral wkl
If you hear about one of your cities, which Yahweh your God gives you to dwell there, that

ארי תשמע בחד מקרויך די יי אלהך יהב לך למתב תמן למימר:
lmymr thmn lmthb lk yhb alhk yy dy mqrwyk bkhd thshme ary
certain wicked fellows have gone out from among you and have drawn away the inhabitants of their city, saying, “Let’s go and serve other gods,” which you have not known,

נפקו גברין בני רשעא מבינך ואטעיו ית יתבי קרתהון למימר נהך ונפלח לטעות עממיא די לא ידעתון:
ydethwn la dy emmya lTewth wnplkh nhk lmymr qrthhwn ythby yth waTeyw mbynk rshea bny gbryn npqw
then you shall inquire, investigate, and ask diligently. Behold, if it is true, and the thing certain, that such abomination was done among you,

ותתבע ותבדוק ותשאל יאות והא קשטא כון פתגמא אתעבידא תועבתא הדא בינך:
bynk hda thwebtha athebyda pthgma kwn qshTa wha yawth wthshal wthbdwq wththbe
you shall surely strike the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, with all that is therein and its livestock, with the edge of the sword.

ממחא תמחי ית יתבי קרתא ההיא לפתגם דחרב גמר יתה וית כל די בה וית בעירה לפתגם דחרב:
dkhrb lpthgm beyrh wyth bh dy kl wyth ythh gmr dkhrb lpthgm hhya qrtha ythby yth thmkhy mmkha
You shall gather all its plunder into the middle of its street, and shall burn with fire the city, with all of its plunder, to Yahweh your God. It shall be a heap forever. It shall not be built again.

וית כל עדאה תכנוש לגו פתיה ותוקד בנורא ית קרתא וית כל עדאה גמיר קדם יי אלהך ותהי תל חריב לעלם לא תתבני עוד:
ewd ththbny la lelm khryb thl wthhy alhk yy qdm gmyr edah kl wyth qrtha yth bnwra wthwqd pthyh lgw thknwsh edah kl wyth
Nothing of the devoted thing shall cling to your hand, that Yahweh may turn from the fierceness of his anger and show you mercy, and have compassion on you and multiply you, as he has sworn to your fathers,

ולא ידבק בידך מדעם מן חרמא בדיל דיתוב יי מתקוף רוגזיה ויהב לך רחמין וירחם עלך ויסגנך כמא די קיים לאבהתך:
labhthk qyym dy kma wysgnk elk wyrkhm rkhmyn lk wyhb rwgzyh mthqwp yy dythwb bdyl khrma mn mdem bydk ydbq wla
when you listen to Yahweh your God’s voice, to keep all his commandments which I command you today, to do that which is right in Yahweh your God’s eyes.
