אלין פתגמיא די מליל משה עם כל ישראל בעברא דירדנא אוכח יתהון על דחבו במדברא ועל דארגיזו במישרא לקבל ים סוף בפארן דאתפלו על מנא ובחצרות דארגיזו על בשרא ועל דעבדו עגל דדהב:
ddhb egl debdw wel bshra el dargyzw wbkhtsrwth mna el dathplw bparn swp ym lqbl bmyshra dargyzw wel bmdbra dkhbw el ythhwn awkkh dyrdna bebra yshral kl em mshh mlyl dy pthgmya alyn
These are the words which Moses spoke to all Israel beyond the Jordan in the wilderness, in the Arabah opposite Suf, between Paran, Tophel, Laban, Hazeroth, and Dizahab.

מהלך חד עשר יומין מחרב ארח טורא דשעיר עד רקם גיאה:
gyah rqm ed dsheyr Twra arkh mkhrb ywmyn eshr khd mhlk
It is eleven days’ journey from Horeb by the way of Mount Seir to Kadesh Barnea.

והוה בארבעין שנין בחד עשר ירחא בחד לירחא מליל משה עם בני ישראל ככל די פקיד יי יתיה לותהון:
lwthhwn ythyh yy pqyd dy kkl yshral bny em mshh mlyl lyrkha bkhd yrkha eshr bkhd shnyn barbeyn whwh
In the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first day of the month, Moses spoke to the children of Israel according to all that Yahweh had given him in commandment to them,

בתר דמחא ית סיחון מלכא דאמראה דיתב בחשבון וית עוג מלכא דמתנן דיתב בעשתרת באדרעי:
badrey beshthrth dythb dmthnn mlka ewg wyth bkhshbwn dythb damrah mlka sykhwn yth dmkha bthr
after he had struck Sihon the king of the Amorites who lived in Heshbon, and Og the king of Bashan who lived in Ashtaroth, at Edrei.

בעברא דירדנא בארעא דמואב שרי משה פרש ית אולפן אוריתא הדא למימר:
lmymr hda awrytha awlpn yth prsh mshh shry dmwab barea dyrdna bebra
Beyond the Jordan, in the land of Moab, Moses began to declare this law, saying,

יי אלהנא מליל עמנא בחרב למימר סגי לכון דיתבתון בטורא הדין:
hdyn bTwra dythbthwn lkwn sgy lmymr bkhrb emna mlyl alhna yy
“Yahweh our God spoke to us in Horeb, saying, ‘You have lived long enough at this mountain.

אתפנו וטולו לכון ועולו לטורא דאמראה ולכל מגירוהי במישריא בטורא ובשפלתא ובדרומא ובספר ימא ארעא דכנענאה ולבנן עד נהרא רבא נהרא פרת:
prth nhra rba nhra ed wlbnn dknenah area yma wbspr wbdrwma wbshpltha bTwra bmyshrya mgyrwhy wlkl damrah lTwra wewlw lkwn wTwlw athpnw
Turn, and take your journey, and go to the hill country of the Amorites and to all the places near there: in the Arabah, in the hill country, in the lowland, in the South, by the seashore, in the land of the Canaanites, and in Lebanon as far as the great river, the river Euphrates.

חזי דיהבית קדמיכון ית ארעא עולו ואחסינו ית ארעא די קים יי לאבהתכון לאברהם ליצחק וליעקב למתן להון ולבניהון בתריהון:
bthryhwn wlbnyhwn lhwn lmthn wlyeqb lytskhq labrhm labhthkwn yy qym dy area yth wakhsynw ewlw area yth qdmykwn dyhbyth khzy
Behold, I have set the land before you. Go in and possess the land which Yahweh swore to your fathers—to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob—to give to them and to their offspring after them.’”

ואמרית לכון בעדנא ההיא למימר לית אנא יכיל בלחודי לסוברא יתכון:
ythkwn lswbra blkhwdy ykyl ana lyth lmymr hhya bedna lkwn wamryth
I spoke to you at that time, saying, “I am not able to bear you myself alone.

יי אלהכון אסגי יתכון והא איתיכון יומא דין ככוכבי שמיא למסגי:
lmsgy shmya kkwkby dyn ywma aythykwn wha ythkwn asgy alhkwn yy
Yahweh your God has multiplied you, and behold, you are today as the stars of the sky for multitude.

יי אלהא דאבהתכון יוסף עליכון כותכון אלף זמנין ויברך יתכון כמא די מליל לכון:
lkwn mlyl dy kma ythkwn wybrk zmnyn alp kwthkwn elykwn ywsp dabhthkwn alha yy
May Yahweh, the God of your fathers, make you a thousand times as many as you are and bless you, as he has promised you!

אכדין אסובר בלחודי טרחכון ועסקיכון ודינכון:
wdynkwn wesqykwn Trkhkwn blkhwdy aswbr akdyn
How can I myself alone bear your problems, your burdens, and your strife?

הבו לכון גברין חכימין וסוכלתנון ומדען לשבטיכון ואמננון רישין עליכון:
elykwn ryshyn wamnnwn lshbTykwn wmden wswklthnwn khkymyn gbryn lkwn hbw
Take wise men of understanding who are respected among your tribes, and I will make them heads over you.”

ואתבתון יתי ואמרתון תקין פתגמא די מללתא למעבד:
lmebd mlltha dy pthgma thqyn wamrthwn ythy wathbthwn
You answered me, and said, “The thing which you have spoken is good to do.”
15
ודברית ית רישי שבטיכון גברין חכימין ומדען ומנתי יתהון רישין עליכון רבני אלפין ורבני מאותא ורבני חמשין ורבני עשוריתא וסרכין לשבטיכון:
lshbTykwn wsrkyn eshwrytha wrbny khmshyn wrbny mawtha wrbny alpyn rbny elykwn ryshyn ythhwn wmnthy wmden khkymyn gbryn shbTykwn ryshy yth wdbryth
So I took the heads of your tribes, wise and respected men, and made them heads over you, captains of thousands, captains of hundreds, captains of fifties, captains of tens, and officers, according to your tribes.

ופקדית ית דיניכון בעדנא ההיא למימר שמעו בין אחיכון ותדונון קושטא בין גברא ובין אחוהי ובין גיוריה:
gywryh wbyn akhwhy wbyn gbra byn qwshTa wthdwnwn akhykwn byn shmew lmymr hhya bedna dynykwn yth wpqdyth
I commanded your judges at that time, saying, “Hear cases between your brothers and judge righteously between a man and his brother, and the foreigner who is living with him.

לא תשתמודעון אפין בדינא מלי זערא כרבא תשמעון לא תדחלון מן קדם גברא ארי דינא דיי הוא ופתגמא די יקשי מנכון תקרבון לותי ואשמעניה:
washmenyh lwthy thqrbwn mnkwn yqshy dy wpthgma hwa dyy dyna ary gbra qdm mn thdkhlwn la thshmewn krba zera mly bdyna apyn thshthmwdewn la
You shall not show partiality in judgment; you shall hear the small and the great alike. You shall not be afraid of the face of man, for the judgment is God’s. The case that is too hard for you, you shall bring to me, and I will hear it.”

ופקדית יתכון בעדנא ההיא ית כל פתגמיא די תעבדון:
thebdwn dy pthgmya kl yth hhya bedna ythkwn wpqdyth
I commanded you at that time all the things which you should do.
19
ונטלנא מחרב והליכנא ית כל מדברא רבא ודחילא ההוא די חזיתון ארח טורא דאמראה כמא די פקיד יי אלהנא יתנא ואתינא עד רקם גיאה:
gyah rqm ed wathyna ythna alhna yy pqyd dy kma damrah Twra arkh khzythwn dy hhwa wdkhyla rba mdbra kl yth whlykna mkhrb wnTlna
We traveled from Horeb and went through all that great and terrible wilderness which you saw, by the way to the hill country of the Amorites, as Yahweh our God commanded us; and we came to Kadesh Barnea.

ואמרית לכון אתיתון עד טורא דאמראה דיי אלהנא יהב לנא:
lna yhb alhna dyy damrah Twra ed athythwn lkwn wamryth
I said to you, “You have come to the hill country of the Amorites, which Yahweh our God gives to us.
21
חזי יהב יי אלהך קדמך ית ארעא סק אחסן כמא די מליל יי אלהא דאבהתך לך לא תדחל ולא תתבר:
ththbr wla thdkhl la lk dabhthk alha yy mlyl dy kma akhsn sq area yth qdmk alhk yy yhb khzy
Behold, Yahweh your God has set the land before you. Go up, take possession, as Yahweh the God of your fathers has spoken to you. Don’t be afraid, neither be dismayed.”

וקרבתון לותי כלכון ואמרתון נשלח גברין קדמנא ויאללון לנא ית ארעא ויתיבון יתנא פתגמא ית ארחא די נסק בה וית קרויא די נעול להן:
lhn newl dy qrwya wyth bh nsq dy arkha yth pthgma ythna wythybwn area yth lna wyallwn qdmna gbryn nshlkh wamrthwn klkwn lwthy wqrbthwn
You came near to me, everyone of you, and said, “Let’s send men before us, that they may search the land for us, and bring back to us word of the way by which we must go up, and the cities to which we shall come.”

ושפר בעיני פתגמא ודברית מנכון תרין עשר גברין גברא חד לשבטא:
lshbTa khd gbra gbryn eshr thryn mnkwn wdbryth pthgma beyny wshpr
The thing pleased me well. I took twelve of your men, one man for every tribe.
24
ואתפניו וסליקו לטורא ואתו עד נחלא דאתכלא ואלילו יתה:
ythh walylw dathkla nkhla ed wathw lTwra wslyqw wathpnyw
They turned and went up into the hill country, and came to the valley of Eshcol, and spied it out.
25
ונסיבו בידיהון מאבא דארעא ואחיתו לנא ואתיבו יתנא פתגמא ואמרו טבא ארעא דיי אלהנא יהב לנא:
lna yhb alhna dyy area Tba wamrw pthgma ythna wathybw lna wakhythw darea maba bydyhwn wnsybw
They took some of the fruit of the land in their hands and brought it down to us, and brought us word again, and said, “It is a good land which Yahweh our God gives to us.”

ולא אביתון למסק וסרבתון על מימרא דיי אלהכון:
alhkwn dyy mymra el wsrbthwn lmsq abythwn wla
Yet you wouldn’t go up, but rebelled against the commandment of Yahweh your God.
27
ואתרעמתון במשכניכון ואמרתון בדסני יי יתנא אפקנא מארעא דמצרים לממסר יתנא בידא דאמראה לשציותנא:
lshtsywthna damrah byda ythna lmmsr dmtsrym marea apqna ythna yy bdsny wamrthwn bmshknykwn wathremthwn
You murmured in your tents, and said, “Because Yahweh hated us, he has brought us out of the land of Egypt, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites to destroy us.

לאן אנחנא סלקין אחנא תברו ית לבנא למימר עם סגי ותקיף מננא קרוין רברבן וכריכן עד צית שמיא ואף בני גבראי חזינא תמן:
thmn khzyna gbray bny wap shmya tsyth ed wkrykn rbrbn qrwyn mnna wthqyp sgy em lmymr lbna yth thbrw akhna slqyn ankhna lan
Where are we going up? Our brothers have made our heart melt, saying, ‘The people are greater and taller than we. The cities are great and fortified up to the sky. Moreover we have seen the sons of the Anakim there!’”

ואמרית לכון לא תתברון ולא תדחלון מנהון:
mnhwn thdkhlwn wla ththbrwn la lkwn wamryth
Then I said to you, “Don’t be terrified. Don’t be afraid of them.
30
יי אלהכון דמדבר קדמיכון הוא יגיח לכון ככל די עבד עמכון במצרים לעיניכון:
leynykwn bmtsrym emkwn ebd dy kkl lkwn ygykh hwa qdmykwn dmdbr alhkwn yy
Yahweh your God, who goes before you, he will fight for you, according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes,

ובמדברא די חזיתא די סוברך יי אלהך כמא די מסובר גבר ית בריה בכל ארחא די הלכתון עד מיתיכון עד אתרא הדין:
hdyn athra ed mythykwn ed hlkthwn dy arkha bkl bryh yth gbr mswbr dy kma alhk yy swbrk dy khzytha dy wbmdbra
and in the wilderness where you have seen how that Yahweh your God carried you, as a man carries his son, in all the way that you went, until you came to this place.”

ובפתגמא הדין ליתיכון מהימנין במימרא דיי אלהכון:
alhkwn dyy bmymra mhymnyn lythykwn hdyn wbpthgma
Yet in this thing you didn’t believe Yahweh your God,
33
די מדבר קדמיכון בארחא לאתקנאה לכון אתר בית מישרי לאשריותכון בעמודא דאשתא בליליא לאחזיותכון בארחא די תהכון בה ובעמודא דעננא ביממא:
bymma denna wbemwda bh thhkwn dy barkha lakhzywthkwn blylya dashtha bemwda lashrywthkwn myshry byth athr lkwn lathqnah barkha qdmykwn mdbr dy
who went before you on the way, to seek out a place for you to pitch your tents in: in fire by night, to show you by what way you should go, and in the cloud by day.

ושמיע קדם יי ית קל פתגמיכון ורגז וקים למימר:
lmymr wqym wrgz pthgmykwn ql yth yy qdm wshmye
Yahweh heard the voice of your words and was angry, and swore, saying,
35
אם יחזי גבר בגבריא האלין דרא בישא הדין ית ארעא טבתא די קימית למתן לאבהתכון:
labhthkwn lmthn qymyth dy Tbtha area yth hdyn bysha dra halyn bgbrya gbr ykhzy am
“Surely not one of these men of this evil generation shall see the good land which I swore to give to your fathers,

אלהן כלב בר יפנה הוא יחזנה וליה אתן ית ארעא די דרך בה ולבנוהי חלף די אשלים בתר דחלתא דיי:
dyy dkhltha bthr ashlym dy khlp wlbnwhy bh drk dy area yth athn wlyh ykhznh hwa ypnh br klb alhn
except Caleb the son of Jephunneh. He shall see it. I will give the land that he has trodden on to him and to his children, because he has wholly followed Yahweh.”
37
אף עלי הוה רגז מן קדם יי בדילכון למימר אף את לא תעול תמן:
thmn thewl la ath ap lmymr bdylkwn yy qdm mn rgz hwh ely ap
Also Yahweh was angry with me for your sakes, saying, “You also shall not go in there.
38
יהושע בר נון דקאם קדמך הוא יעול תמן יתיה תקף ארי הוא יחסננה לישראל:
lyshral ykhsnnh hwa ary thqp ythyh thmn yewl hwa qdmk dqam nwn br yhwshe
Joshua the son of Nun, who stands before you, shall go in there. Encourage him, for he shall cause Israel to inherit it.
39
וטפלכון די אמרתון לבזא יהון ובניכון די לא ידעו יומא דין טב וביש אנון יעלון לתמן ולהון אתננה ואנון יירתנה:
yyrthnh wanwn athnnh wlhwn lthmn yelwn anwn wbysh Tb dyn ywma ydew la dy wbnykwn yhwn lbza amrthwn dy wTplkwn
Moreover your little ones, whom you said would be captured or killed, your children, who today have no knowledge of good or evil, shall go in there. I will give it to them, and they shall possess it.
40
ואתון אתפניו לכון וטולו למדברא ארח ימא דסוף:
dswp yma arkh lmdbra wTwlw lkwn athpnyw wathwn
But as for you, turn, and take your journey into the wilderness by the way to the Red Sea.”
41
ואתבתון ואמרתון לי חבנא קדם יי אנחנא נסק ונגיח ביה קרב ככל די פקדנא יי אלהנא וזרזתון גבר ית מני קרביה ושריתון למסק לטורא:
lTwra lmsq wshrythwn qrbyh mny yth gbr wzrzthwn alhna yy pqdna dy kkl qrb byh wngykh nsq ankhna yy qdm khbna ly wamrthwn wathbthwn
Then you answered and said to me, “We have sinned against Yahweh. We will go up and fight, according to all that Yahweh our God commanded us.” Every man of you put on his weapons of war, and presumed to go up into the hill country.
42
ואמר יי לי אמר להון לא תסקון ולא תגיחון קרב ארי לית שכנתי שריא ביניכון ולא תתברון קדם בעלי דבביכון:
dbbykwn bely qdm ththbrwn wla bynykwn shrya shknthy lyth ary qrb thgykhwn wla thsqwn la lhwn amr ly yy wamr
Yahweh said to me, “Tell them, ‘Don’t go up and don’t fight; for I am not among you, lest you be struck before your enemies.’”
43
ומללית עמכון ולא קבלתון וסרבתון על גזרת מימרא דיי וארשעתון וסלקתון לטורא:
lTwra wslqthwn warshethwn dyy mymra gzrth el wsrbthwn qblthwn wla emkwn wmllyth
So I spoke to you, and you didn’t listen; but you rebelled against the commandment of Yahweh, and were presumptuous, and went up into the hill country.
44
ונפק אמראה דיתב בטורא ההוא לקדמותכון ורדפו יתכון כמא די נתזן דבריתא וטרדו יתכון בשעיר עד חרמה:
khrmh ed bsheyr ythkwn wTrdw dbrytha nthzn dy kma ythkwn wrdpw lqdmwthkwn hhwa bTwra dythb amrah wnpq
The Amorites, who lived in that hill country, came out against you and chased you as bees do, and beat you down in Seir, even to Hormah.
45
ותבתון ובכיתון קדם יי ולא קביל יי צלותכון ולא אצית למליכון:
lmlykwn atsyth wla tslwthkwn yy qbyl wla yy qdm wbkythwn wthbthwn
You returned and wept before Yahweh, but Yahweh didn’t listen to your voice, nor turn his ear to you.
