ܒܫܢܬ ܬܠܬ ܕܡܠܟܘܬܗ ܕܒܠܛܫܨܪ ܡ̇ܠܟܐ ܚܙܘܐ ܐܬܚܙܝ ܠܝ ܐܢܐ ܕܢܝܐܝܠ ܡܢ ܒܬܪ ܚܙܘܐ ܩܕܡܝܐ ܕܐܬܚܙܝ ܠܝ

In the third year of the reign of King Belshazzar, a vision appeared to me, even to me, Daniel, after that which appeared to me at the first.

ܚܙܝܬ ܒܚܠܡܝ ܕܒܫܘܫܢ ܗܘܝܬ ܒܝܪܬܐ ܕܒܥܝܠܡ ܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܘܚܙܝܬ ܒܚܠܡܝ ܕܩܐ̇ܡ ܐܢܐ ܥܠ ܐܒܘܠ ܐܘܠܝ
'wly 'bwl el 'n' dq'm bkhlmy wkhzyth mdynth' dbeylm byrth' hwyth dbshwshn bkhlmy khzyth
I saw the vision. Now it was so, that when I saw, I was in the citadel of Susa, which is in the province of Elam. I saw in the vision, and I was by the river Ulai.

ܘܐܪܝܡܬ ܥ̈ܝܢܝ ܘܚܙܝܬ ܘܗܐ ܕܟܪܐ ܚܕ ܩܐ̇ܡ ܩܕܡ ܐܒܘܠ ܘܐܝܬ ܠܗ ܩܪ̈ܢܬܐ ܘܩܪ̈ܢܬܗ ܪ̈ܡܢ ܘܚܕܐ ܪܡܐ ܡܢ ܚܒܪܬܗ̇ ܘܗ̇ܝ ܪܡܬܐ ܐܚܪܝܬ ܝܥܬ
yeth 'khryth rmth' why khbrthh mn rm' wkhd' rmn wqrnthh qrnth' lh w'yth 'bwl qdm q'm khd dkr' wh' wkhzyth eyny w'rymth
Then I lifted up my eyes and saw, and behold, a ram which had two horns stood before the river. The two horns were high, but one was higher than the other, and the higher came up last.

ܘܚܙܝܬ ܕܟܪܐ ܡܕܩܪ ܠܡܥܪܒܐ ܘܠܓܪܒܝܐ ܘܠܬܝܡܢܐ ܘܟܠܗܝܢ ܚܝܘ̈ܬܐ ܠܐ ܩܝ̈ܡܢ ܩܕܡܘܗܝ ܘܠܝܬ ܕܡܫܬܘܙܒ ܡܢ ܐܝܕ̈ܘܗܝ ܘܥܒ̣ܕ ܐܝܟ ܕܨܒܐ ܘܐܬܪܝܡ
w'thrym dtsb' 'yk webd 'ydwhy mn dmshthwzb wlyth qdmwhy qymn l' khywth' wklhyn wlthymn' wlgrby' lmerb' mdqr dkr' wkhzyth
I saw the ram pushing westward, northward, and southward. No animals could stand before him. There wasn’t any who could deliver out of his hand, but he did according to his will, and magnified himself.

ܘܐܢܐ ܡܬܒܝܢ ܗܘܝܬ ܘܨܦܪܝܐ ܕܥ̈ܙܐ ܐܬ̣ܐ ܡܢ ܡܥܪܒܐ ܥܠ ܐ̈ܦܝ ܟܠܗ̇ ܐܪܥܐ ܘܠܐ ܢ̇ܟܐ ܗܘܐ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܘܨܦܪܝܐ ܩܪܢܐ ܡܬܚܙܝܐ ܒܝܬ ܥ̈ܝܢܘܗܝ
eynwhy byth mthkhzy' qrn' wtspry' b're' hw' nk' wl' 're' klh 'py el merb' mn 'th' dez' wtspry' hwyth mthbyn w'n'
As I was considering, behold, a male goat came from the west over the surface of the whole earth, and didn’t touch the ground. The goat had a notable horn between his eyes.

ܘܐܬ̣ܐ ܘܡܛ̣ܐ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܕܟܪܐ ܗ̇ܘ ܕܐܝܬ ܠܗ ܩܪ̈ܢܬܐ ܕܚܙܝܬ ܕܩܐ̇ܡ ܩܕܡ ܐܒܘܠ ܘܪܗ̣ܛ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܒܚܐܦܗ
bkh'ph elwhy wrhT 'bwl qdm dq'm dkhzyth qrnth' lh d'yth hw ldkr' edm' wmT' w'th'
He came to the ram that had the two horns, which I saw standing before the river, and ran on him in the fury of his power.

ܘܡܛܝܗܝ ܠܕܟܪܐ ܘܐܬܡܪܡܪ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܘܡܚܝܗܝ ܠܕܟܪܐ ܘܬܒܪ ܠܬܪ̈ܬܝܗܝܢ ܩܪ̈ܢܬܗ ܘܠܐ ܗ̣ܘܐ ܒܗ ܚܝܠܐ ܒܕܟܪܐ ܠܡܩܡ ܩܕܡܘܗܝ ܘܐܪܡܝܗ ܥܠ ܐܪܥܐ ܘܕܫܗ ܘܠܐ ܗ̣ܘܐ ܕܡܦܨܐ ܠܗ ܠܕܟܪܐ ܡܢ ܐܝܕ̈ܘܗܝ ܕܨܦܪܝܐ ܕܥ̈ܙܐ
dez' dtspry' 'ydwhy mn ldkr' lh dmpts' hw' wl' wdshh 're' el w'rmyh qdmwhy lmqm bdkr' khyl' bh hw' wl' qrnthh lthrthyhyn wthbr ldkr' wmkhyhy elwhy w'thmrmr ldkr' wmTyhy
I saw him come close to the ram, and he was moved with anger against him, and struck the ram, and broke his two horns. There was no power in the ram to stand before him; but he cast him down to the ground and trampled on him. There was no one who could deliver the ram out of his hand.

ܘܨܦܪܝܐ ܕܥ̈ܙܐ ܪܒ̣ܐ ܣܓܝ ܘܟܕ ܥܫ̣ܢ ܐܬܬܒܪܬ ܩܪܢܗ ܪܒܬܐ ܘܣܠ̣ܩ ܕܡ̈ܬܚܙܝܢ ܐܪܒܥ ܡܢ ܬܚܘܬܝܗ̇ ܠܐܪܒܥ ܪ̈ܘܚܝ ܫܡܝܐ
shmy' rwkhy l'rbe thkhwthyh mn 'rbe dmthkhzyn wslq rbth' qrnh 'ththbrth eshn wkd sgy rb' dez' wtspry'
The male goat magnified himself exceedingly. When he was strong, the great horn was broken; and instead of it there came up four notable horns toward the four winds of the sky.

ܘܡܢ ܚܕܐ ܡܢܗܝܢ ܢܦܩܬ ܩܪܢܐ ܚܕܐ ܙܥܘܪܬܐ ܘܪܒܬ ܝܬܝܪܐܝܬ ܠܬܝܡܢܐ ܘܠܡܕܢܚܐ
wlmdnkh' lthymn' ythyr'yth wrbth zewrth' khd' qrn' npqth mnhyn khd' wmn
Out of one of them came out a little horn which grew exceedingly great—toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the glorious land.

ܘܪܒܬ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܚ̈ܝܠܐ ܕܫܡܝܐ ܘܐܦܠܬ ܥܠ ܐܪܥܐ ܘܡܢ ܚܝ̈ܠܐ ܘܡܢ ܟܘܟܒ̈ܐ ܘܕܫܬ ܐܢܘܢ
'nwn wdshth kwkb' wmn khyl' wmn 're' el w'plth dshmy' lkhyl' edm' wrbth
It grew great, even to the army of the sky; and it cast down some of the army and of the stars to the ground and trampled on them.

ܘܥܕܡܐ ܠܪ̈ܒܝ ܚܝ̈ܠܐ ܡܛܬ ܘܡܢܗ ܐܪܝܡ ܐܡܝܢܘܬܐ ܘܫ̣ܪܐ ܡܬܩܢ ܡܩܕܫܗ
mqdshh mthqn wshr' 'mynwth' 'rym wmnh mTth khyl' lrby wedm'
Yes, it magnified itself, even to the prince of the army; and it took away from him the continual burnt offering, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.

ܘܚܝܠܐ ܐܬܝܗܒ ܥܠ ܐܡܝܢܘܬܐ ܒܚܘܒ̈ܐ ܘܐܫܬܕܝ ܩܘܕܫܐ ܥܠ ܐܪܥܐ ܘܥܒ̣ܪ ܘܐܨܠܚ
w'tslkh webr 're' el qwdsh' w'shthdy bkhwb' 'mynwth' el 'thyhb wkhyl'
The army was given over to it together with the continual burnt offering through disobedience. It cast down truth to the ground, and it did its pleasure and prospered.

ܘܫܡܥܬ ܚܕ ܩܕܝܫܐ ܕܡܡܠܠ ܘܐܡ̇ܪ ܚܕ ܩܕܝܫܐ ܠܦܠܘܡܢܝ ܕܡܡܠܠ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܐܡܬܝ ܚܙܘܐ ܕܐܡܝܢܘܬܐ ܘܥ̣ܘܠܐ ܘܚܒܠܐ ܢܫܬܠܡ ܘܩܘܕܫܐ ܘܚܝܠܐ ܢܬܕܝܫ
nthdysh wkhyl' wqwdsh' nshthlm wkhbl' wewl' d'mynwth' khzw' l'mthy edm' dmmll lplwmny qdysh' khd w'mr dmmll qdysh' khd wshmeth
Then I heard a holy one speaking; and another holy one said to that certain one who spoke, “How long will the vision about the continual burnt offering, and the disobedience that makes desolate, to give both the sanctuary and the army to be trodden under foot be?”

ܘܐܡ̣ܪ ܠܗ ܥܕ ܪܡܫ ܨܦܪ ܬܪܝܢ ܐ̈ܠܦܝܢ ܘܬܠܬܡܐܐ ܘܢܙ̣ܟܐ ܙܕܩܐ
zdq' wnzk' wthlthm'' 'lpyn thryn tspr rmsh ed lh w'mr
He said to me, “To two thousand and three hundred evenings and mornings. Then the sanctuary will be cleansed.”

ܘܟܕ ܚܙܝܬ ܐܢܐ ܕܢܝܐܝܠ ܚܙܘܐ ܒܥܝܬ ܠܡܣܬܟܠܘ ܘܗܐ ܩܐ̇ܡ ܠܘܩܒܠܝ ܐܝܟ ܚܙܘܐ ܕܓܒܪܐ
dgbr' khzw' 'yk lwqbly q'm wh' lmsthklw beyth khzw' dny'yl 'n' khzyth wkd
When I, even I Daniel, had seen the vision, I sought to understand it. Then behold, there stood before me someone with the appearance of a man.

ܘܫܡܥܬ ܩܠܐ ܕܐܢܫܐ ܡܢ ܒܝܢܬ ܐܘܠܝ ܕܩܪܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܓܒܪܝܐܝܠ ܣ̇ܟܠ ܠܗܢܐ ܚܙܘܐ ܗܢܐ
hn' khzw' lhn' skl gbry'yl w'mr dqr' 'wly bynth mn d'nsh' ql' wshmeth
I heard a man’s voice between the banks of the Ulai, which called and said, “Gabriel, make this man understand the vision.”

ܘܐ̣ܬܐ ܠܘܬܝ ܐܬܪ ܕܩܐ̇ܡ ܐܢܐ ܘܟܕ ܐܬ̣ܐ ܕܚܠܬ ܘܢܦܠܬ ܥܠ ܐ̈ܦܝ ܘܐܡ̣ܪ ܠܝ ܐܣܬܟܠ ܒܪܢܫܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܠܥܕܢ ܣܘܦܐ ܚܙܘܐ ܗܢܐ
hn' khzw' swp' dledn mTl brnsh' 'sthkl ly w'mr 'py el wnplth dkhlth 'th' wkd 'n' dq'm 'thr lwthy w'th'
So he came near where I stood; and when he came, I was frightened, and fell on my face; but he said to me, “Understand, son of man, for the vision belongs to the time of the end.”

ܘܟܕ ܡܡܠܠ ܥܡܝ ܐܬܓ̇ܪܓܚܬ ܥܠ ܐ̈ܦܝ ܥܠ ܐܪܥܐ ܘܩ̣ܪܒ ܠܝ ܘܐܩܝܡܢܝ ܥܠ ܩܝܡܝ
qymy el w'qymny ly wqrb 're' el 'py el 'thgrgkhth emy mmll wkd
Now as he was speaking with me, I fell into a deep sleep with my face toward the ground; but he touched me and set me upright.

ܘܐܡ̣ܪ ܠܝ ܗܐ ܐܢܐ ܡܚܘܐ ܐܢܐ ܠܟ ܡܐ ܕܢܗܘܐ ܒܣܘܦ ܪܘܓܙܐ ܒܙܒܢ ܣܘܦܐ
swp' bzbn rwgz' bswp dnhw' m' lk 'n' mkhw' 'n' h' ly w'mr
He said, “Behold, I will make you know what will be in the latter time of the indignation, for it belongs to the appointed time of the end.

ܕܟܪܐ ܕܚܙܝܬ ܕܐܝܬ ܠܗ ܩܪ̈ܢܬܐ ܡ̇ܠܟ ܡܕܝ ܘܦܪܣ
wprs mdy mlk qrnth' lh d'yth dkhzyth dkr'
The ram which you saw, that had the two horns, they are the kings of Media and Persia.

ܘܨܦܪܝܐ ܕܥ̈ܙܐ ܡ̇ܠܟܐ ܕܝܘܢ̈ܝܐ ܘܩܪܢܐ ܪܒܬܐ ܕܐܝܬ ܒܝܬ ܥܝܢܘ̈ܗܝ ܗܘܝܘ ܡ̇ܠܟܐ ܩܕܡܝܐ
qdmy' mlk' hwyw eynwhy byth d'yth rbth' wqrn' dywny' mlk' dez' wtspry'
The rough male goat is the king of Greece. The great horn that is between his eyes is the first king.

ܘܕܐܬܬܒܪܬ ܘܩܡ ܐܪܒܥ ܬܚܘܬܝܗ̇ ܐܪܒܥܐ ܡ̈ܠܟܝܢ ܡܢ ܥܡܐ ܢܩܘܡܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܒܚܝܠܗܘܢ
bkhylhwn wl' nqwmwn em' mn mlkyn 'rbe' thkhwthyh 'rbe wqm wd'ththbrth
As for that which was broken, in the place where four stood up, four kingdoms will stand up out of the nation, but not with his power.

ܘܒܣܘܦ ܡܠܟܘܬܗܘܢ ܡܐ ܕܫܠܡ̣ܘ ܚܘ̈ܒܐ ܢܩܘܡ ܡ̇ܠܟܐ ܬܩܝܦ ܐ̈ܦܐ ܘܡܣ̇ܬܟܠ ܐܘܚ̈ܕܢ
'wkhdn wmsthkl 'p' thqyp mlk' nqwm khwb' dshlmw m' mlkwthhwn wbswp
“In the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors have come to the full, a king of fierce face, and understanding riddles, will stand up.

ܘܬܩܝܦ ܚܝܠܗ ܘܠܐ ܒܚܝܠܐ ܕܢܦܫܗ ܘܬܕܡܪ̈ܬܐ ܢܚ̇ܒܠ ܘܢܨܠܚ ܘܢܥܒܪ ܘܢܚ̇ܒܠ ܥܫܝ̈ܢܐ ܘܥܡܐ ܕܩܕܝܫ̈ܐ
dqdysh' wem' eshyn' wnkhbl wnebr wntslkh nkhbl wthdmrth' dnpshh bkhyl' wl' khylh wthqyp
His power will be mighty, but not by his own power. He will destroy awesomely, and will prosper in what he does. He will destroy the mighty ones and the holy people.

ܘܒܐܘܚܕܢܗ ܢܨܠܚ ܢܟܠܐ ܒܐܝܕܗ ܘܠܒܗ ܢܬܬܪܝܡ ܘܒܫܠܝܐ ܢܚ̇ܒܠ ܣܓܝܐ̈ܐ ܘܥܠ ܫܠܝܛ ܫܠܝ̈ܛܢܐ ܢܩܘܡ ܘܒܡܐܚܕ ܐܝܕܐ ܢܬܬܒܪ
nththbr 'yd' wbm'khd nqwm shlyTn' shlyT wel sgy'' nkhbl wbshly' nththrym wlbh b'ydh nkl' ntslkh wb'wkhdnh
Through his policy he will cause deceit to prosper in his hand. He will magnify himself in his heart, and he will destroy many in their security. He will also stand up against the prince of princes, but he will be broken without human hands.

ܘܚܙܘܐ ܕܨܦܪܐ ܘܕܪܡܫܐ ܕܐܬܐܡܪ ܩܘܫܬܐ ܗܘ ܘܐܢܬ ܕܝܢ ܕܢܝܐܝܠ ܟܣܝܘܗܝ ܠܚܙܘܐ ܗܢܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܠܝܘܡ̈ܬܐ ܗܘ ܣܓܝܐ̈ܐ
sgy'' hw dlywmth' mTl hn' lkhzw' ksywhy dny'yl dyn w'nth hw qwshth' d'th'mr wdrmsh' dtspr' wkhzw'
“The vision of the evenings and mornings which has been told is true; but seal up the vision, for it belongs to many days to come.”

ܘܐܢܐ ܕܢܝܐܝܠ ܙܥܬ ܘܐܬܕܠܚܬ ܝܘܡ̈ܬܐ ܘܩܡܬ ܘܣܥܪܬ ܥܒ̈ܝܕܬܐ ܕܡ̇ܠܟܐ ܘܐܬܕܡܪܬ ܒܚܙܘܐ ܘܠܝܬ ܕܡܬܒܝܢ
dmthbyn wlyth bkhzw' w'thdmrth dmlk' ebydth' wserth wqmth ywmth' w'thdlkhth zeth dny'yl w'n'
I, Daniel, fainted, and was sick for some days. Then I rose up and did the king’s business. I wondered at the vision, but no one understood it.
