Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was sixty cubits and its width six cubits. He set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon.

Then Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the local governors, the deputies, and the governors, the judges, the treasurers, the counselors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.

באדין מתכנשין אחשדרפניא סגניא ופחותא אדרגזריא גדבריא דתבריא תפתיא וכל שלטני מדינתא לחנכת צלמא די הקים נבוכדנצר מלכא וקימין לקבל צלמא די הקים נבכדנצר

Then the local governors, the deputies, and the governors, the judges, the treasurers, the counselors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces were gathered together to the dedication of the image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up; and they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up.

וכרוזא קרא בחיל לכון אמרין עממיא אמיא ולשניא

Then the herald cried aloud, “To you it is commanded, peoples, nations, and languages,

בעדנא די תשמעון קל קרנא משרוקיתא קתרוס שבכא פסנתרין סומפניא וכל זני זמרא תפלון ותסגדון לצלם דהבא די הקים נבוכדנצר מלכא
bedna dy thshmewn ql qrna mshrwqytha qthrws shbka psnthryn swmpnya wkl zny zmra thplwn wthsgdwn ltslm dhba dy hqym nbwkdntsr mlka
that whenever you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe, and all kinds of music, you fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king has set up.

ומן די לא יפל ויסגד בה שעתא יתרמא לגוא אתון נורא יקדתא
wmn dy la ypl wysgd bh shetha ythrma lgwa athwn nwra yqdtha
Whoever doesn’t fall down and worship shall be cast into the middle of a burning fiery furnace the same hour.”

כל קבל דנה בה זמנא כדי שמעין כל עממיא קל קרנא משרוקיתא קתרוס שבכא פסנטרין וכל זני זמרא נפלין כל עממיא אמיא ולשניא סגדין לצלם דהבא די הקים נבוכדנצר מלכא

Therefore at that time, when all the peoples heard the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe, and all kinds of music, all the peoples, the nations, and the languages fell down and worshiped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.

כל קבל דנה בה זמנא קרבו גברין כשדאין ואכלו קרציהון די יהודיא

Therefore at that time certain Chaldeans came near and brought accusation against the Jews.

ענו ואמרין לנבוכדנצר מלכא מלכא לעלמין חיי

They answered Nebuchadnezzar the king, “O king, live for ever!

אנת מלכא שמת טעם די כל אנש די ישמע קל קרנא משרקיתא קתרוס שבכא פסנתרין וסופניה וכל זני זמרא יפל ויסגד לצלם דהבא
anth mlka shmth Tem dy kl ansh dy yshme ql qrna mshrqytha qthrws shbka psnthryn wswpnyh wkl zny zmra ypl wysgd ltslm dhba
You, O king, have made a decree that every man who hears the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe, and all kinds of music shall fall down and worship the golden image;

ומן די לא יפל ויסגד יתרמא לגוא אתון נורא יקדתא
wmn dy la ypl wysgd ythrma lgwa athwn nwra yqdtha
and whoever doesn’t fall down and worship shall be cast into the middle of a burning fiery furnace.

איתי גברין יהודאין די מנית יתהון על עבידת מדינת בבל שדרך מישך ועבד נגו גבריא אלך לא שמו עלך מלכא טעם לאלהך לא פלחין ולצלם דהבא די הקימת לא סגדין
aythy gbryn yhwdayn dy mnyth ythhwn el ebydth mdynth bbl shdrk myshk webd ngw gbrya alk la shmw elk mlka Tem lalhk la plkhyn wltslm dhba dy hqymth la sgdyn
There are certain Jews whom you have appointed over the affairs of the province of Babylon: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. These men, O king, have not respected you. They don’t serve your gods, and don’t worship the golden image which you have set up.”

באדין נבוכדנצר ברגז וחמא אמר להיתיה לשדרך מישך ועבד נגו באדין גבריא אלך היתיו קדם מלכא

Then Nebuchadnezzar in rage and fury commanded that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego be brought. Then these men were brought before the king.

ענה נבוכדנצר ואמר להון הצדא שדרך מישך ועבד נגו לאלהי לא איתיכון פלחין ולצלם דהבא די הקימת לא סגדין

Nebuchadnezzar answered them, “Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, that you don’t serve my gods and you don’t worship the golden image which I have set up?

כען הן איתיכון עתידין די בעדנא די תשמעון קל קרנא משרוקיתא קתרוס שבכא פסנתרין וסומפניה וכל ׀ זני זמרא תפלון ותסגדון לצלמא די עבדת והן לא תסגדון בה שעתא תתרמון לגוא אתון נורא יקדתא ומן הוא אלה די ישיזבנכון מן ידי
ken hn aythykwn ethydyn dy bedna dy thshmewn ql qrna mshrwqytha qthrws shbka psnthryn wswmpnyh wkl zny zmra thplwn wthsgdwn ltslma dy ebdth whn la thsgdwn bh shetha ththrmwn lgwa athwn nwra yqdtha wmn hwa alh dy yshyzbnkwn mn ydy
Now if you are ready whenever you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe, and all kinds of music to fall down and worship the image which I have made, good; but if you don’t worship, you shall be cast the same hour into the middle of a burning fiery furnace. Who is that god who will deliver you out of my hands?”

ענו שדרך מישך ועבד נגו ואמרין למלכא נבוכדנצר לא חשחין אנחנא על דנה פתגם להתבותך

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered the king, “Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter.

הן איתי אלהנא די אנחנא פלחין יכל לשיזבותנא מן אתון נורא יקדתא ומן ידך מלכא ישיזב
hn aythy alhna dy ankhna plkhyn ykl lshyzbwthna mn athwn nwra yqdtha wmn ydk mlka yshyzb
If it happens, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace; and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king.

והן לא ידיע להוא לך מלכא די לאלהך לא איתנא פלחין ולצלם דהבא די הקימת לא נסגד {פ}

But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image which you have set up.”

באדין נבוכדנצר התמלי חמא וצלם אנפוהי אשתני על שדרך מישך ועבד נגו ענה ואמר למזא לאתונא חד שבעה על די חזה למזיה
badyn nbwkdntsr hthmly khma wtslm anpwhy ashthny el shdrk myshk webd ngw enh wamr lmza lathwna khd shbeh el dy khzh lmzyh
Then Nebuchadnezzar was full of fury, and the form of his appearance was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. He spoke, and commanded that they should heat the furnace seven times more than it was usually heated.

ולגברין גברי חיל די בחילה אמר לכפתה לשדרך מישך ועבד נגו למרמא לאתון נורא יקדתא
wlgbryn gbry khyl dy bkhylh amr lkpthh lshdrk myshk webd ngw lmrma lathwn nwra yqdtha
He commanded certain mighty men who were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.

באדין גבריא אלך כפתו בסרבליהון פטשיהון וכרבלתהון ולבשיהון ורמיו לגוא אתון נורא יקדתא
badyn gbrya alk kpthw bsrblyhwn pTshyhwn wkrblthhwn wlbshyhwn wrmyw lgwa athwn nwra yqdtha
Then these men were bound in their pants, their tunics, and their mantles, and their other clothes, and were cast into the middle of the burning fiery furnace.

כל קבל דנה מן די מלת מלכא מחצפה ואתונא אזה יתירה גבריא אלך די הסקו לשדרך מישך ועבד נגו קטל המון שביבא די נורא
kl qbl dnh mn dy mlth mlka mkhtsph wathwna azh ythyrh gbrya alk dy hsqw lshdrk myshk webd ngw qTl hmwn shbyba dy nwra
Therefore because the king’s commandment was urgent and the furnace exceedingly hot, the flame of the fire killed those men who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.

וגבריא אלך תלתהון שדרך מישך ועבד נגו נפלו לגוא אתון נורא יקדתא מכפתין {פ}

These three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the middle of the burning fiery furnace.

אדין נבוכדנצר מלכא תוה וקם בהתבהלה ענה ואמר להדברוהי הלא גברין תלתה רמינא לגוא נורא מכפתין ענין ואמרין למלכא יציבא מלכא
adyn nbwkdntsr mlka thwh wqm bhthbhlh enh wamr lhdbrwhy hla gbryn thlthh rmyna lgwa nwra mkpthyn enyn wamryn lmlka ytsyba mlka
Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished and rose up in haste. He spoke and said to his counselors, “Didn’t we cast three men bound into the middle of the fire?” They answered the king, “True, O king.”

ענה ואמר הא אנה חזה גברין ארבעה שרין מהלכין בגוא נורא וחבל לא איתי בהון ורוה די רביעאה דמה לבר אלהין
enh wamr ha anh khzh gbryn arbeh shryn mhlkyn bgwa nwra wkhbl la aythy bhwn wrwh dy rbyeah dmh lbr alhyn
He answered, “Look, I see four men loose, walking in the middle of the fire, and they are unharmed. The appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods. ”

באדין קרב נבוכדנצר לתרע אתון נורא יקדתא ענה ואמר שדרך מישך ועבד נגו עבדוהי די אלהא עלאה פקו ואתו באדין נפקין שדרך מישך ועבד נגו מן גוא נורא
badyn qrb nbwkdntsr lthre athwn nwra yqdtha enh wamr shdrk myshk webd ngw ebdwhy dy alha elah pqw wathw badyn npqyn shdrk myshk webd ngw mn gwa nwra
Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace. He spoke and said, “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, you servants of the Most High God, come out, and come here!” Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego came out of the middle of the fire.

ומתכנשין אחשדרפניא סגניא ופחותא והדברי מלכא חזין לגבריא אלך די לא שלט נורא בגשמהון ושער ראשהון לא התחרך וסרבליהון לא שנו וריח נור לא עדת בהון

The local governors, the deputies, and the governors, and the king’s counselors, being gathered together, saw these men, that the fire had no power on their bodies. The hair of their head wasn’t singed. Their pants weren’t changed. The smell of fire wasn’t even on them.

ענה נבוכדנצר ואמר בריך אלההון די שדרך מישך ועבד נגו די שלח מלאכה ושיזב לעבדוהי די התרחצו עלוהי ומלת מלכא שניו ויהבו גשמהון די לא יפלחון ולא יסגדון לכל אלה להן לאלההון

Nebuchadnezzar spoke and said, “Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who has sent his angel and delivered his servants who trusted in him, and have changed the king’s word, and have yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god except their own God.

ומני שים טעם די כל עם אמה ולשן די יאמר שלו על אלההון די שדרך מישך ועבד נגוא הדמין יתעבד וביתה נולי ישתוה כל קבל די לא איתי אלה אחרן די יכל להצלה כדנה

Therefore I make a decree that every people, nation, and language which speak anything evil against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill, because there is no other god who is able to deliver like this.”

Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the province of Babylon.
