ܒܫܢܬ ܬܠܬ ܕܟܘܪܫ ܡ̇ܠܟܐ ܕܦܪܣ ܦܬܓܡܐ ܐܬܓܠܝ ܠܕܢܝܐܝܠ ܕܐܬܩܪܝ ܫܡܗ ܒܠܛܫܨܪ ܘܫܪܝܪ ܦܬܓܡܐ ܘܒܚܝܠܐ ܪܒܐ ܡܬܒܝܢ ܦܬܓܡܐ ܘܐܣܬܟܠ ܒܗ ܒܚܙܘܐ

In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a message was revealed to Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the message was true, even a great warfare. He understood the message, and had understanding of the vision.

ܒܝܘܡ̈ܬܐ ܗܢܘܢ ܐܢܐ ܕܢܝܐܝܠ ܗܘܝܬ ܝܬ̇ܒ ܒܐܒܠܐ ܬܠܬܐ ܫܒܘ̈ܥܝܢ ܕܝܘܡ̈ܝܢ

In those days I, Daniel, was mourning three whole weeks.

ܠܚܡܐ ܕܪܓܬܐ ܠܐ ܐܟܠܬ ܘܒܣܪܐ ܘܚܡܪܐ ܠܐ ܥܠ ܠܦܘܡܝ ܘܡܫܚܐ ܠܐ ܡܫܚܬ ܥܕܡܐ ܕܫܠ̣ܡܘ ܬܠܬܐ ܫܒܘ̈ܥܝܢ ܕܝܘܡ̈ܝܢ
dywmyn shbweyn thlth' dshlmw edm' mshkhth l' wmshkh' lpwmy el l' wkhmr' wbsr' 'klth l' drgth' lkhm'
I ate no pleasant food. No meat or wine came into my mouth. I didn’t anoint myself at all, until three whole weeks were fulfilled.

ܒܝܘܡ ܐܪܒܥܐ ܘܥܣܪܝܢ ܒܝܪܚܐ ܩܕܡܝܐ ܐܢܐ ܗܘܝܬ ܥܠ ܝܕ ܢܗܪܐ ܪܒܐ ܦܪܬ

In the twenty-fourth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, which is Hiddekel,

ܘܐܪܝܡܬ ܥܝ̈ܢܝ ܘܚܙܝܬ ܘܗܐ ܓܒܪܐ ܚܕ ܕܠܒܝܫ ܠܒܘ̈ܫܝܢ ܕܐܝܩܪ ܘܚܨܘ̈ܗܝ ܚܙܝܩܝܢ ܒܐܝܩܪ ܬܫܒܘܚܬܐ

I lifted up my eyes and looked, and behold, there was a man clothed in linen, whose waist was adorned with pure gold of Uphaz.

ܘܚܙܘܗ ܡܫܓܢܝ ܘܠܝܬ ܠܗ ܕܡܘ ܘܐ̈ܦܘܗܝ ܐܝܟ ܚܙܘܐ ܕܒܪܩܐ ܘܥܝܢ̈ܘܗܝ ܐܝܟ ܠܡܦܐܕ̈ܐ ܕܢܘܪܐ ܘܕܪ̈ܥܘܗܝ ܘܟܬ̈ܦܬܗ ܐܝܟ ܥܝܢܐ ܕܢܚܫܐ ܕܡܒܪܩ ܘܩܠܐ ܕܦܬܓ̈ܡܘܗܝ ܐܝܟ ܩܠ ܚܝ̈ܠܝܢ ܣܓܝܐ̈ܝܢ
sgy'yn khylyn ql 'yk dpthgmwhy wql' dmbrq dnkhsh' eyn' 'yk wkthpthh wdrewhy dnwr' lmp'd' 'yk weynwhy dbrq' khzw' 'yk w'pwhy dmw lh wlyth mshgny wkhzwh
His body also was like beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as flaming torches. His arms and his feet were like burnished bronze. The voice of his words was like the voice of a multitude.

ܘܚܙܝܬ ܐܢܐ ܕܢܝܐܝܠ ܒܠܚܘܕܝ ܚܙܘܐ ܗܢܐ ܘܓܒܪ̈ܐ ܕܗܘܘ ܥܡܝ ܠܐ ܚܙܘ ܐܠܐ ܕܚܠܬܐ ܪܒܬܐ ܢܦܠܬ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܘܥ̣ܪܩܘ ܡܢ ܕܚܠܬܐ
dkhlth' mn werqw elyhwn nplth rbth' dkhlth' 'l' khzw l' emy dhww wgbr' hn' khzw' blkhwdy dny'yl 'n' wkhzyth
I, Daniel, alone saw the vision, for the men who were with me didn’t see the vision, but a great quaking fell on them, and they fled to hide themselves.

ܘܐܢܐ ܒܠܚܘܕܝ ܐܫܬܚܪܬ ܘܚܙܝܬ ܚܙܘܐ ܗܢܐ ܪܒܐ ܘܠܐ ܐܫܬܚܪ ܒܝ ܚܝܠܐ ܘܓܘܝ ܐܬܗܦܟ ܠܡܬܚܒܠܘ ܘܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܒܝ ܚܝܠ
khyl by hw' wl' lmthkhblw 'thhpk wgwy khyl' by 'shthkhr wl' rb' hn' khzw' wkhzyth 'shthkhrth blkhwdy w'n'
So I was left alone and saw this great vision. No strength remained in me; for my face grew deathly pale, and I retained no strength.

ܘܟܕ ܫܡܥܬ ܩܠܐ ܕܡ̈ܠܘܗܝ ܢܦܠܬ ܥܠ ܐ̈ܦܝ ܥܠ ܐܪܥܐ

Yet I heard the voice of his words. When I heard the voice of his words, then I fell into a deep sleep on my face, with my face toward the ground.

ܘܗܐ ܐܝܕܐ ܩܪܒܬ ܠܝ ܘܐܩܝܡܬܢܝ ܥܠ ܒܘܪ̈ܟܝ ܘܥܠ ܦܣܬ ܐܝ̈ܕܝ
'ydy psth wel bwrky el w'qymthny ly qrbth 'yd' wh'
Behold, a hand touched me, which set me on my knees and on the palms of my hands.

ܘܐܡ̣ܪ ܠܝ ܩܘܡ ܕܢܝܐܝܠ ܓܒܪܐ ܕܪܓܬܐ ܘܐܣܬܟܠ ܒܦܬܓܡܐ ܕܡܡܠܠ ܐܢܐ ܥܡܟ ܘܩܘܡ ܥܠ ܩܝܡܟ ܡܛܠ ܕܗܫܐ ܐܫܬܕܪܬ ܥܠܝܟ ܘܟܕ ܡܡܠܠ ܥܡܝ ܡܠܬܐ ܗܕܐ ܩܐ̇ܡ ܗܘܝܬ ܘܪܐ̇ܬ
wr'th hwyth q'm hd' mlth' emy mmll wkd elyk 'shthdrth dhsh' mTl qymk el wqwm emk 'n' dmmll bpthgm' w'sthkl drgth' gbr' dny'yl qwm ly w'mr
He said to me, “Daniel, you greatly beloved man, understand the words that I speak to you, and stand upright, for I have been sent to you, now.” When he had spoken this word to me, I stood trembling.

ܘܐܡ̣ܪ ܠܝ ܠܐ ܬܕܚܠ ܕܢܝܐܝܠ ܡܛܠ ܕܡܢ ܝܘܡܐ ܩܕܡܝܐ ܕܝܗܒܬ ܠܒܟ ܠܝܕܥܬܐ ܠܡܩܡ ܩܕܡ ܐܠܗܟ ܐܫܬܡܥ ܡ̈ܠܝܟ ܘܐܢܐ ܐܬܝܬ ܒܡ̈ܠܝܟ
bmlyk 'thyth w'n' mlyk 'shthme 'lhk qdm lmqm lydeth' lbk dyhbth qdmy' ywm' dmn mTl dny'yl thdkhl l' ly w'mr
Then he said to me, “Don’t be afraid, Daniel; for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard. I have come for your words’ sake.

ܘܫܠܝܛܐ ܕܡܠܟܘܬܐ ܕܦܪܣ ܩܡ ܠܘܩܒܠܝ ܥܣܪܝܢ ܘܚܕ ܝܘܡ ܘܗܐ ܡܝܟܐܝܠ ܚܕ ܡܢ ܪ̈ܘܪܒܢܐ ܩܕܡ̈ܝܐ ܐܬ̣ܐ ܠܡܥܕܪܘܬܢܝ ܘܐܫܬܘܚܪܬ ܬܡܢ ܠܘܩܒܠ ܫܠܝܛܐ ܕܦܪܣ

But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; but, behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me because I remained there with the kings of Persia.

ܘܐܢܐ ܐܬܝܬ ܠܡܚܘܝܘܬܟ ܡܕܡ ܕܓ̇ܕܫ ܠܥܡܟ ܒܚܪܬܐ ܕܝܘܡ̈ܬܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܬܘܒ ܚܙܘܐ ܠܣܘܦ ܝܘܡ̈ܬܐ

Now I have come to make you understand what will happen to your people in the latter days, for the vision is yet for many days.”

ܘܟܕ ܡܡܠܠ ܥܡܝ ܡ̈ܠܐ ܗܠܝܢ ܣܡܬ ܐ̈ܦܝ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܘܫܬܩܬ

When he had spoken these words to me, I set my face toward the ground and was mute.

ܘܗܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܡܘܬܐ ܕܐܢܫܐ ܩ̣ܪܒ ܠܣܦܘ̈ܬܝ ܘܦܬ̣ܚ ܦܘܡܝ ܘܡܠܠܬ ܘܐܡܪܬ ܠܗ̇ܘ ܕܩܐ̇ܡ ܠܘܩܒܠܝ ܡܪܝ ܒܚܙܘܐ ܐܬܗܦܟ ܓܘܝ ܥܠܝ ܘܠܐ ܐܫܟܚܬ ܠܡܩܡ
lmqm 'shkkhth wl' ely gwy 'thhpk bkhzw' mry lwqbly dq'm lhw w'mrth wmllth pwmy wpthkh lspwthy qrb d'nsh' dmwth' 'yk wh'
Behold, one in the likeness of the sons of men touched my lips. Then I opened my mouth, and spoke and said to him who stood before me, “My lord, by reason of the vision my sorrows have overtaken me, and I retain no strength.

ܘܐܝܟܢܐ ܡܫܟܚ ܥ̣ܒܕܗ ܕܡܪܝ ܗܢܐ ܠܡܡܠܠܘ ܥܡ ܡܪܝ ܗܢܐ ܕܗܐ ܠܝܬ ܒܝ ܚܝܠܐ ܘܢܫܡܬܐ ܠܐ ܐܫܬܚܪܬ ܒܝ
by 'shthkhrth l' wnshmth' khyl' by lyth dh' hn' mry em lmmllw hn' dmry ebdh mshkkh w'ykn'
For how can the servant of this my lord talk with this my lord? For as for me, immediately there remained no strength in me. There was no breath left in me.”

ܘܐܘܣܦ ܩ̣ܪܒ ܠܝ ܐܝܟ ܚܙܘܐ ܕܐܢܫܐ ܘܚܝܠܢܝ

Then one like the appearance of a man touched me again, and he strengthened me.

ܘܐܡ̣ܪ ܠܝ ܠܐ ܬܕܚܠ ܓܒܪܐ ܕܪܓܬܐ ܫܠܡ ܠܟ ܐܬܚܝܠ ܘܐܬܥܫܢ ܘܟܕ ܡܡܠܠ ܥܡܝ ܐܬܚܝܠܬ ܘܐܡܪܬ ܢܡܠܠ ܡܪܝ ܡܛܠ ܕܐܬܚ̇ܝܠܬ
d'thkhylth mTl mry nmll w'mrth 'thkhylth emy mmll wkd w'theshn 'thkhyl lk shlm drgth' gbr' thdkhl l' ly w'mr
He said, “Greatly beloved man, don’t be afraid. Peace be to you. Be strong. Yes, be strong.” When he spoke to me, I was strengthened, and said, “Let my lord speak, for you have strengthened me.”

ܘܐܡ̣ܪ ܠܝ ܝ̇ܕܥ ܐܢܬ ܠܡܢܐ ܐܬܝܬ ܠܘܬܟ ܗܫܐ ܐܗܦܘܟ ܠܡܥܒܕ ܩܪܒܐ ܥܡ ܫܠܝܛܐ ܕܦܪܣ ܘܐܢܐ ܢܦܩܬ ܘܗܐ ܫܠܝܛܐ ܕܝܘ̈ܢܝܐ ܐܬ̣ܐ
'th' dywny' shlyT' wh' npqth w'n' dprs shlyT' em qrb' lmebd 'hpwk hsh' lwthk 'thyth lmn' 'nth yde ly w'mr
Then he said, “Do you know why I have come to you? Now I will return to fight with the prince of Persia. When I go out, behold, the prince of Greece will come.

ܒܪܡ ܐܚܘܝܟ ܡܕܡ ܕܪܫܝܡ ܒܟܬܒܐ ܕܩܘܫܬܐ ܘܠܝܬ ܕܡ̇ܥܕܪ ܗܘܐ ܠܝ ܒܗܠܝܢ ܟܠܗܝܢ ܐܠܐ ܐܢ ܡܝܟܐܝܠ ܫܠܝܛܟܘܢ
shlyTkwn myk'yl 'n 'l' klhyn bhlyn ly hw' dmedr wlyth dqwshth' bkthb' drshym mdm 'khwyk brm
But I will tell you that which is inscribed in the writing of truth. There is no one who holds with me against these but Michael your prince.
