ܨܒܐ ܐܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܕܬܕܥܘܢ ܐܝܢܐ ܐܓܘܢܐ ܐܝܬ ܠܝ ܚܠܦܝܟܘܢ ܘܚܠܦ ܗܢܘܢ ܕܒܠܕܝܩܝܐ ܘܚܠܦ ܫܪܟܐ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܦܪܨܘܦܝ ܠܐ ܚܙܘ ܒܒܣܪ

For I desire to have you know how greatly I struggle for you, and for those at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;

ܕܢܬܒܝܐܘܢ ܠܒܘܬܗܘܢ ܘܢܬܩܪܒܘܢ ܒܚܘܒܐ ܠܟܠܗ ܥܘܬܪܐ ܕܦܝܣܐ ܘܠܣܘܟܠܐ ܕܝܕܥܬܗ ܕܐܪܙܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܐܒܐ ܘܕܡܫܝܚܐ

that their hearts may be comforted, they being knit together in love, and gaining all riches of the full assurance of understanding, that they may know the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ,

ܗܘ ܕܒܗ ܟܣܝܢ ܟܠܗܝܢ ܣܝܡܬܐ ܕܚܟܡܬܐ ܘܕܝܕܥܬܐ
hw dbh ksyn klhyn symth' dkhkmth' wdydeth'
in whom are all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge hidden.

ܗܕܐ ܕܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܕܠܐ ܐܢܫ ܢܗܘܐ ܡܛܥܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܒܦܝܣܐ ܕܡܠܐ

Now this I say that no one may delude you with persuasiveness of speech.

ܐܦܢ ܒܒܣܪ ܓܝܪ ܦܪܝܩ ܐܢܐ ܡܢܟܘܢ ܐܠܐ ܒܪܘܚ ܥܡܟܘܢ ܐܢܐ ܘܚܕܐ ܐܢܐ ܕܚܙܐ ܐܢܐ ܡܛܟܣܘܬܟܘܢ ܘܫܪܝܪܘܬܐ ܕܗܝܡܢܘܬܟܘܢ ܕܒܡܫܝܚܐ
'pn bbsr gyr pryq 'n' mnkwn 'l' brwkh emkwn 'n' wkhd' 'n' dkhz' 'n' mTkswthkwn wshryrwth' dhymnwthkwn dbmshykh'
For though I am absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, rejoicing and seeing your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.

ܐܝܟܢܐ ܗܟܝܠ ܕܩܒܠܬܘܢ ܠܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܡܪܢ ܒܗ ܗܠܟܘ

As therefore you received Christ Jesus, the Lord, walk in him,

ܟܕ ܡܫܪܪܝܢ ܥܩܪܝܟܘܢ ܘܡܬܒܢܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܒܗ ܘܡܬܩܝܡܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܒܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܗܝ ܕܝܠܦܬܘܢ ܕܒܗ ܬܬܝܬܪܘܢ ܒܬܘܕܝܬܐ
kd mshrryn eqrykwn wmthbnyn 'nthwn bh wmthqymyn 'nthwn bhymnwth' hy dylpthwn dbh ththythrwn bthwdyth'
rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, even as you were taught, abounding in it in thanksgiving.

ܐܙܕܗܪܘ ܕܠܡܐ ܐܢܫ ܢܚܠܨܟܘܢ ܒܦܝܠܣܦܘܬܐ ܘܒܛܥܝܘܬܐ ܣܪܝܩܬܐ ܐܝܟ ܝܘܠܦܢܐ ܕܒܢܝܢܫܐ ܘܐܝܟ ܐܣܛܘܟܣܘܗܝ ܕܥܠܡܐ ܘܠܐ ܐܝܟ ܡܫܝܚܐ
'zdhrw dlm' 'nsh nkhltskwn bpylspwth' wbTeywth' sryqth' 'yk ywlpn' dbnynsh' w'yk 'sTwkswhy delm' wl' 'yk mshykh'
Be careful that you don’t let anyone rob you through his philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the elements of the world, and not after Christ.

ܕܒܗ ܥܡܪ ܟܠܗ ܡܘܠܝܐ ܕܐܠܗܘܬܐ ܓܘܫܡܢܐܝܬ

For in him all the fullness of the Deity dwells bodily,

ܘܒܗ ܐܦ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܡܫܬܡܠܝܬܘܢ ܕܗܘ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܪܫܐ ܕܟܠܗܝܢ ܐܪܟܘܣ ܘܫܘܠܛܢܐ
wbh 'p 'nthwn mshthmlythwn dhw 'ythwhy rsh' dklhyn 'rkws wshwlTn'
and in him you are made full, who is the head of all principality and power;

ܘܒܗ ܐܬܓܙܪܬܘܢ ܓܙܘܪܬܐ ܕܠܐ ܒܐܝܕܝܢ ܒܫܠܚ ܒܣܪܐ ܕܚܛܗܐ ܒܓܙܘܪܬܗ ܕܡܫܝܚܐ

in whom you were also circumcised with a circumcision not made with hands, in the putting off of the body of the sins of the flesh, in the circumcision of Christ;

ܘܐܬܩܒܪܬܘܢ ܥܡܗ ܒܡܥܡܘܕܝܬܐ ܘܒܗ ܩܡܬܘܢ ܥܡܗ ܕܗܝܡܢܬܘܢ ܒܚܝܠܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܩܝܡܗ ܡܢ ܒܝܬ ܡܝܬܐ
w'thqbrthwn emh bmemwdyth' wbh qmthwn emh dhymnthwn bkhyl' d'lh' d'qymh mn byth myth'
having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.

ܘܠܟܘܢ ܕܡܝܬܝܢ ܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܒܚܛܗܝܟܘܢ ܘܒܥܘܪܠܘܬ ܒܣܪܟܘܢ ܐܚܝܟܘܢ ܥܡܗ ܘܫܒܩ ܠܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܚܛܗܝܢ

You were dead through your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh. He made you alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses,

ܘܥܛܐ ܒܦܘܩܕܢܘܗܝ ܫܛܪ ܚܘܒܝܢ ܗܘ ܕܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܗܘܐ ܣܩܘܒܠܢ ܘܫܩܠܗ ܡܢ ܡܨܥܬܐ ܘܩܒܥܗ ܒܙܩܝܦܗ
weT' bpwqdnwhy shTr khwbyn hw d'ythwhy hw' sqwbln wshqlh mn mtseth' wqbeh bzqyph
wiping out the handwriting in ordinances which was against us; and he has taken it out of the way, nailing it to the cross;

ܘܒܫܠܚ ܦܓܪܗ ܦܪܣܝ ܠܐܪܟܘܣ ܘܠܫܠܝܛܢܐ ܘܐܒܗܬ ܐܢܘܢ ܓܠܝܐܝܬ ܒܩܢܘܡܗ
wbshlkh pgrh prsy l'rkws wlshlyTn' w'bhth 'nwn gly'yth bqnwmh
having stripped the principalities and the powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

ܠܐ ܗܟܝܠ ܐܢܫ ܢܕܘܕܟܘܢ ܒܡܐܟܠܐ ܘܒܡܫܬܝܐ ܐܘ ܒܦܘܠܓܐ ܕܥܐܕܐ ܘܕܪܝܫ ܝܪܚܐ ܘܕܫܒܐ
l' hkyl 'nsh ndwdkwn bm'kl' wbmshthy' 'w bpwlg' de'd' wdrysh yrkh' wdshb'
Let no one therefore judge you in eating, or in drinking, or with respect to a feast day or a new moon or a Sabbath day,

ܗܠܝܢ ܕܐܝܬܝܗܝܢ ܛܠܢܝܬܐ ܕܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܥܬܝܕܢ ܦܓܪܐ ܕܝܢ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܗܘ
hlyn d'ythyhyn Tlnyth' d'ylyn dethydn pgr' dyn mshykh' hw
which are a shadow of the things to come; but the body is Christ’s.

ܘܠܡܐ ܐܢܫ ܢܨܒܐ ܒܡܟܝܟܘܬ ܪܥܝܢܐ ܠܡܚܝܒܘܬܟܘܢ ܕܬܫܬܥܒܕܘܢ ܠܦܘܠܚܢܐ ܕܡܠܐܟܐ ܒܕܣܥܐ ܥܠ ܡܕܡ ܕܠܐ ܚܙܐ ܘܣܪܝܩܐܝܬ ܡܬܚܬܪ ܒܪܥܝܢܐ ܕܒܣܪܗ
wlm' 'nsh ntsb' bmkykwth reyn' lmkhybwthkwn dthshthebdwn lpwlkhn' dml'k' bdse' el mdm dl' khz' wsryq'yth mthkhthr breyn' dbsrh
Let no one rob you of your prize by a voluntary humility and worshiping of the angels, dwelling in the things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

ܘܠܐ ܐܚܕ ܪܫܐ ܕܡܢܗ ܟܠܗ ܦܓܪܐ ܡܬܪܟܒ ܘܡܬܩܝܡ ܒܫܪܝܢܐ ܘܒܗܕܡܐ ܘܪܒܐ ܬܪܒܝܬܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ
wl' 'khd rsh' dmnh klh pgr' mthrkb wmthqym bshryn' wbhdm' wrb' thrbyth' d'lh'
and not holding firmly to the Head, from whom all the body, being supplied and knit together through the joints and ligaments, grows with God’s growth.

ܐܢ ܓܝܪ ܡܝܬܬܘܢ ܥܡ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܡܢ ܐܣܛܘܟܣܘܗܝ ܕܥܠܡܐ ܠܡܢܐ ܐܝܟ ܗܘ ܕܚܝܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܒܥܠܡܐ ܡܬܕܝܢܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ
'n gyr myththwn em mshykh' mn 'sTwkswhy delm' lmn' 'yk hw dkhyyn 'nthwn belm' mthdynyn 'nthwn
If you died with Christ from the elements of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to ordinances,

ܠܐ ܠܡ ܬܩܪܘܒ ܘܠܐ ܬܛܥܡ ܘܠܐ ܬܩܦ

“Don’t handle, nor taste, nor touch”

ܕܐܝܬܝܗܝܢ ܗܠܝܢ ܚܫܚܬܐ ܕܡܬܚܒܠܐ ܘܦܘܩܕܐ ܐܢܝܢ ܘܝܘܠܦܢܐ ܕܒܢܝܢܫܐ
d'ythyhyn hlyn khshkhth' dmthkhbl' wpwqd' 'nyn wywlpn' dbnynsh'
(all of which perish with use), according to the precepts and doctrines of men?

ܘܡܬܚܙܝܢ ܕܐܝܬ ܒܗܝܢ ܡܠܬܐ ܕܚܟܡܬܐ ܒܦܪܨܘܦ ܡܟܝܟܘܬܐ ܘܕܚܠܬ ܐܠܗܐ ܘܕܠܐ ܚܝܣܝܢ ܥܠ ܦܓܪܐ ܠܘ ܒܡܕܡ ܕܡܝܩܪ ܐܠܐ ܒܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܚܫܚܬܐ ܐܢܝܢ ܕܒܣܪܐ
wmthkhzyn d'yth bhyn mlth' dkhkmth' bprtswp mkykwth' wdkhlth 'lh' wdl' khysyn el pgr' lw bmdm dmyqr 'l' b'ylyn dkhshkhth' 'nyn dbsr'
Which things indeed appear like wisdom in self-imposed worship, and humility, and severity to the body; but aren’t of any value against the indulgence of the flesh.
