כדין אחזיני יי אלהים והא ברית גובי באול צמוח לקיש והא צמוח דעדק בתר דאתגזיזת שחתא דמלכא:
dmlka shkhtha dathgzyzth bthr dedq tsmwkh wha lqysh tsmwkh bawl gwby bryth wha alhym yy akhzyny kdyn
Thus the Lord Yahweh showed me: behold, he formed locusts in the beginning of the shooting up of the latter growth; and behold, it was the latter growth after the king’s harvest.

ויהא כד שיצי למיכל ית עסבא דארעא ואמרית קבל בעותי יי אלהים שבוק כען לחובי שארא דיעקב מן יקום ויבעי על חטאיהון ארי מטלטלין אנון:
anwn mTlTlyn ary khTayhwn el wybey yqwm mn dyeqb shara lkhwby ken shbwq alhym yy bewthy qbl wamryth darea esba yth lmykl shytsy kd wyha
When they finished eating the grass of the land, then I said, “Lord Yahweh, forgive, I beg you! How could Jacob stand? For he is small.”

אתיב יי רוגזיה על דא לא תתקיים אמר יי:
yy amr ththqyym la da el rwgzyh yy athyb
Yahweh relented concerning this. “It shall not be,” says Yahweh.

כדנן אחזיני יי אלהים והא עתיד למדן באשתא יי אלהים ואכלת ית תהום רבא ושציאת ית אחסנתא:
akhsntha yth wshtsyath rba thhwm yth waklth alhym yy bashtha lmdn ethyd wha alhym yy akhzyny kdnn
Thus the Lord Yahweh showed me: behold, the Lord Yahweh called for judgment by fire; and it dried up the great deep, and would have devoured the land.

ואמרת קבל בעותי יי אלהים שבוק כען לחובי שארא דבית יעקב מן יקום ויבעי על חטאיהון ארי מטלטלין אנון:
anwn mTlTlyn ary khTayhwn el wybey yqwm mn yeqb dbyth shara lkhwby ken shbwq alhym yy bewthy qbl wamrth
Then I said, “Lord Yahweh, stop, I beg you! How could Jacob stand? For he is small.”

אתיב יי רוגזיה על דא לא תתקים אמר יי אלהים:
alhym yy amr ththqym la da el rwgzyh yy athyb
Yahweh relented concerning this. “This also shall not be,” says the Lord Yahweh.

כדנן אחזיני והא יי קאם על שור דדין וקדמוהי דין:
dyn wqdmwhy ddyn shwr el qam yy wha akhzyny kdnn
Thus he showed me: behold, the Lord stood beside a wall made by a plumb line, with a plumb line in his hand.

ואמר יי לי מא את חזי עמוס ואמרית דין ואמר יי הא אנא עביד דין בגו עמי ישראל לא אוסיף עוד למשבק להון:
lhwn lmshbq ewd awsyp la yshral emy bgw dyn ebyd ana ha yy wamr dyn wamryth emws khzy ath ma ly yy wamr
Yahweh said to me, “Amos, what do you see?” I said, “A plumb line.” Then the Lord said, “Behold, I will set a plumb line in the middle of my people Israel. I will not again pass by them any more.

ויצדון במת ישחק ומקדשי ישראל יחרבון ואקם על בית ירבעם דקטלין בחרבא:
bkhrba dqTlyn yrbem byth el waqm ykhrbwn yshral wmqdshy yshkhq bmth wytsdwn
The high places of Isaac will be desolate, the sanctuaries of Israel will be laid waste; and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.”

ושלח אמציה רבא דבית אל לות ירבעם מלכא דישראל למימר מריד עלך עמוס בגו בית ישראל לא תכול ארעא לסוברא ית כל פתגמוהי:
pthgmwhy kl yth lswbra area thkwl la yshral byth bgw emws elk mryd lmymr dyshral mlka yrbem lwth al dbyth rba amtsyh wshlkh
Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, “Amos has conspired against you in the middle of the house of Israel. The land is not able to bear all his words.

ארי כדנן אמר עמוס בחרבא יתקטל ירבעם וישראל מגלא יגלון מעל ארעהון:
arehwn mel yglwn mgla wyshral yrbem ythqTl bkhrba emws amr kdnn ary
For Amos says, ‘Jeroboam will die by the sword, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of his land.’”

ואמר אמציה לעמוס נביא אתא אזל לך לארעא דבית יהודה ואכול תמן לחמא ותמן תתנבי:
ththnby wthmn lkhma thmn wakwl yhwdh dbyth larea lk azl atha nbya lemws amtsyh wamr
Amaziah also said to Amos, “You seer, go, flee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there,

ובית אל לא תוסיף עוד לאתנבאה ארי מקדש מלכא הוא ובית מלכותא הוא:
hwa mlkwtha wbyth hwa mlka mqdsh ary lathnbah ewd thwsyp la al wbyth
but don’t prophesy again any more at Bethel; for it is the king’s sanctuary, and it is a royal house!”

ואתיב עמוס ואמר לאמציה לא נביא אנא ולא בר נביא אנא ארי מרי גיתי אנא ושקמין אית לי בשפלתא מן קדם חובי עמא ישראל אנא מסגיף נפשי:
npshy msgyp ana yshral ema khwby qdm mn bshpltha ly ayth wshqmyn ana gythy mry ary ana nbya br wla ana nbya la lamtsyh wamr emws wathyb
Then Amos answered Amaziah, “I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet’s son, but I was a herdsman, and a farmer of sycamore figs;

ודברני יי מן דירא מבתר ענא ואמר לי יי אזל אתנבי על עמי ישראל:
yshral emy el athnby azl yy ly wamr ena mbthr dyra mn yy wdbrny
and Yahweh took me from following the flock, and Yahweh said to me, ‘Go, prophesy to my people Israel.’

וכען קבל פתגמא דיי את אמרת לא תתנבי בשמא דיי על ישראל ולא תליף על בית ישחק:
yshkhq byth el thlyp wla yshral el dyy bshma ththnby la amrth ath dyy pthgma qbl wken
Now therefore listen to Yahweh’s word: ‘You say, Don’t prophesy against Israel, and don’t preach against the house of Isaac.’

בכן כדנן אמר יי אתתך בקרתא תטעי ובנך ובנתך בחרבא יתקטלון וארעך בעדבא תתפלג ואת על ארעא מסאבא תמות וישראל מגלא יגלון מעל ארעהון:
arehwn mel yglwn mgla wyshral thmwth msaba area el wath ththplg bedba warek ythqTlwn bkhrba wbnthk wbnk thTey bqrtha aththk yy amr kdnn bkn
Therefore Yahweh says: ‘Your wife shall be a prostitute in the city, and your sons and your daughters shall fall by the sword, and your land shall be divided by line; and you yourself shall die in a land that is unclean, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of his land.’”
