ܕܢܩܫܝܢ ܥܠ ܦܘܡܐ ܕܟܢܪ̈ܐ ܘܐܝܟ ܕܘܝܕ ܚܫܝܒܝܢ ܠܗܘܢ ܡܐ̈ܢܝ ܙܡܪܐ

who strum on the strings of a harp, who invent for themselves instruments of music, like David;

ܕܫܬܝܢ ܚܡܪܐ ܡܨܠܠܐ ܘܡܫܚ̈ܢܐ ܪ̈ܝܫܝܐ ܡܫܚܝܢ ܘܠܐ ܒܛܝܠ ܠܗܘܢ ܥܠ ܬܒܪܗ ܕܝܘܣܦ

who drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the best oils, but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܢܫܬܒܘܢ ܒܪܝܫ ܫܒܝܬܐ ܘܢܫܬܩܠ ܪܘܙܐ ܡܢ ܫ̈ܠܝܛܢ̈ܝܗܘܢ

ܕܚܕܝܢ ܥܠ ܠܐ ܡܕܡ ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܕܠܡܐ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܒܚܝܠܢ ܢܣܒܢ ܠܢ ܩܪܝܬܐ
dkhdyn el l' mdm w'mryn dlm' l' hw' bkhyln nsbn ln qryth'
you who rejoice in a thing of nothing, who say, ‘Haven’t we taken for ourselves horns by our own strength?’

ܡܛܠ ܕܗܐ ܐܢܐ ܡܩܝܡ ܐܢܐ ܥܠܝܟܘܢ ܒܝܬ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܥܡܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܘܢܕܚܩܘܢܟܘܢ ܡܢ ܡܥܠܢܐ ܕܚܡܬ ܘܥܕܡܐ ܠܢܚܠܐ ܕܥܪܒܐ
