ܫܡܥܘ ܡܠܬܐ ܗܕܐ ܕܐܢܐ ܫܩܠ ܥܠܝܟܘܢ ܐܘܠܝܬܐ ܒܝܬ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ
'ysryl byth 'wlyth' elykwn shql d'n' hd' mlth' shmew
Listen to this word which I take up for a lamentation over you, O house of Israel:

ܢܦܠܬ ܘܠܐ ܬܘܣܦ ܠܡܩܡ ܒܬܘܠܬܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܐܫܬܒܩܬ ܥܠ ܐܪܥܐ ܘܠܝܬ ܕܡܩܝܡ ܠܗ̇
lh dmqym wlyth 're' el 'shthbqth d'ysryl bthwlth' lmqm thwsp wl' nplth
“The virgin of Israel has fallen; She shall rise no more. She is cast down on her land; there is no one to raise her up.”

ܡܛܠ ܕܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܕܢܦܩܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܡܢܗ̇ ܐܠܦ ܢܫܬܚܪܘܢ ܒܗ̇ ܡܐܐ ܘܕܢܦܩܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܡܢܗ̇ ܡܐܐ ܢܫܬܚܪܘܢ ܒܗ̇ ܥܣܪܐ ܠܕܒܝܬ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ
'ysryl ldbyth esr' bh nshthkhrwn m'' mnh hww wdnpqyn m'' bh nshthkhrwn 'lp mnh hww dnpqyn mdynth' mrwth' mr' 'mr dhkn' mTl
For the Lord Yahweh says: “The city that went out a thousand shall have a hundred left, and that which went out one hundred shall have ten left to the house of Israel.”

ܡܛܠ ܕܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܕܒܝܬ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܒܥܐܘܢܝ ܠܝ ܘܚܝܘ
wkhyw ly be'wny 'ysryl ldbyth mry' 'mr dhkn' mTl
For Yahweh says to the house of Israel: “Seek me, and you will live;

ܘܠܐ ܬܒܥܘܢ ܠܒܝܬ ܐܝܠ ܘܠܓܠܓܠܐ ܠܐ ܬܥܠܘܢ ܘܠܒܪܫܒܥ ܠܐ ܬܥܒܪܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܓܠܓܠܐ ܡܫܬܒܝܘ ܬܫܬܒܐ ܘܒܝܬ ܐܝܠ ܢܗܘܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܠܐ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ
'ythwhy dl' 'yk nhw' 'yl wbyth thshthb' mshthbyw dglgl' mTl thebrwn l' wlbrshbe thelwn l' wlglgl' 'yl lbyth thbewn wl'
but don’t seek Bethel, nor enter into Gilgal, and don’t pass to Beersheba; for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Bethel shall come to nothing.

ܒܥܘ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܘܚܝܘ ܕܠܐ ܢܐܩܕ ܐܝܟ ܢܘܪܐ ܒܝܬ ܝܘܣܦ ܘܢܐܟܘܠ ܠܒܝܬ ܐܝܠ ܘܠܝܬ ܕܡܕܥܟ
dmdek wlyth 'yl lbyth wn'kwl ywsp byth nwr' 'yk n'qd dl' wkhyw lmry' bew
Seek Yahweh, and you will live, lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and it devour, and there be no one to quench it in Bethel.

ܕܗܦܟܝܢ ܕܝܢܐ ܠܡܪܪ̈ܐ ܘܙܕܝܩܘܬܐ ܠܐܪܥܐ ܫܒܩܘ
shbqw l're' wzdyqwth' lmrr' dyn' dhpkyn
You who turn justice to wormwood, and cast down righteousness to the earth!

ܠܡ̇ܢ ܕܥܒܕ ܟܝܡܐ ܘܥܝܘܬܐ ܘܗܦܟ ܠܨܦܪܐ ܛ̈ܠܠܝ ܡܘܬܐ ܘܐܝܡܡܐ ܠܠܠܝܐ ܐܚܫܟ ܕܩܪܐ ܠܡ̈ܝܐ ܕܝܡܐ ܘܐܫܕ ܐܢܘܢ ܥܠ ܐ̈ܦܝܗ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܫܡܗ
shmh mry' d're' 'pyh el 'nwn w'shd dym' lmy' dqr' 'khshk llly' w'ymm' mwth' Tlly ltspr' whpk weywth' kym' debd lmn
Seek him who made the Pleiades and Orion, and turns the shadow of death into the morning, and makes the day dark with night; who calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out on the surface of the earth, Yahweh is his name,

ܕܡܫܠܛ ܚܠܫܐ ܥܠ ܥܫܝܢܐ ܘܡܟܝܟܐ ܥܠ ܪܡܐ ܡܥܠܐ
mel' rm' el wmkyk' eshyn' el khlsh' dmshlT
who brings sudden destruction on the strong, so that destruction comes on the fortress.

ܣܢܝܢ ܒܬܪܥܐ ܠܡܣܟܢܐ ܘܠܡ̇ܢ ܕܡܡܠܠ ܬܪ̈ܝܨܬܐ ܡܣܠܝܢ
mslyn thrytsth' dmmll wlmn lmskn' bthre' snyn
They hate him who reproves in the gate, and they abhor him who speaks blamelessly.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܚܠܦ ܕܩܦܚܬܘܢ ܠܡܣܟܢܐ ܘܩܘܪ̈ܒܢܐ ܓܒܝ̈ܐ ܢܣܒܬܘܢ ܡܢܗ ܒܬ̈ܐ ܕܦܣܝܠܬܐ ܕܒܢܝܬܘܢ ܠܐ ܬܬܒܘܢ ܒܗܘܢ ܘܟܪ̈ܡܐ ܕܪܓܬܐ ܕܢܨܒܬܘܢ ܠܐ ܬܫܬܘܢ ܚܡܪܗܘܢ
khmrhwn thshthwn l' dntsbthwn drgth' wkrm' bhwn ththbwn l' dbnythwn dpsylth' bth' mnh nsbthwn gby' wqwrbn' lmskn' dqpkhthwn khlp hn' mTl
Therefore, because you trample on the poor and take taxes from him of wheat, you have built houses of cut stone, but you will not dwell in them. You have planted pleasant vineyards, but you shall not drink their wine.

ܡܛܠ ܕܝܕܥ ܐܢܐ ܕܣ̈ܓܝܐܝܢ ܚ̈ܘܒܝܟܘܢ ܘܥܫܝ̈ܢܝܢ ܚ̈ܛܗܝܟܘܢ ܐ̈ܠܘܨܘܗܝ ܕܙܕܝܩܐ ܢܣܒܘ ܫܘܚܕܐ ܘܠܡܣܟܢܐ ܒܬܪܥܐ ܨܠܘ
tslw bthre' wlmskn' shwkhd' nsbw dzdyq' 'lwtswhy khThykwn weshynyn khwbykwn dsgy'yn 'n' dyde mTl
For I know how many are your offenses, and how great are your sins— you who afflict the just, who take a bribe, and who turn away the needy in the courts.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܡ̇ܢ ܕܡܣܬܟܠ ܒܙܒܢܐ ܗ̇ܘ ܢܫܬܘܩ ܠܗ ܡܛܠ ܕܙܒܢܐ ܗ̇ܘ ܕܒܝܫܬܐ
dbyshth' hw dzbn' mTl lh nshthwq hw bzbn' dmsthkl mn hn' mTl
Therefore a prudent person keeps silent in such a time, for it is an evil time.

ܒܥܘ ܛܒܬ̈ܐ ܘܠܐ ܒܝܫ̈ܬܐ ܕܬܚܘܢ ܘܢܗܘܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܥܡܟܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܕܐܡܪܬܘܢ
d'mrthwn 'yk emkwn khylthn' mry' hkn' wnhw' dthkhwn byshth' wl' Tbth' bew
Seek good, and not evil, that you may live; and so Yahweh, the God of Armies, will be with you, as you say.

ܣܢܘ ܒܝܫ̈ܬܐ ܘܪܚܡܘ ܛܒܬ̈ܐ ܘܐܩܝܡܘ ܒܬܪܥܐ ܕܝܢ̣ܐ ܟܒܪ ܢܪܚܡ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܥܠ ܫܪܟܗ ܕܝܘܣܦ
dywsp shrkh el khylthn' 'lh' mry' nrkhm kbr dyn' bthre' w'qymw Tbth' wrkhmw byshth' snw
Hate evil, love good, and establish justice in the courts. It may be that Yahweh, the God of Armies, will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.”

ܡܛܠ ܕܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ. ܒܟܠܗܘܢ ܫ̈ܘܩܐ ܡܪ̈ܩܕܬܐ. ܘܒܟܠܗܝܢ ܒܪ̈ܝܬܐ ܢܐܡܪܘܢ. ܗܘܝ ܗܘܝ. ܘܢܩܪܘܢ ܠܐܟܪ̈ܐ ܠܐܒܠܐ ܘܠܡܪ̈ܩܕܬܐ ܘܠܝܕ̈ܥܝ ܐܘ̈ܠܝܬܐ.
'wlyth' wlydey wlmrqdth' l'bl' l'kr' wnqrwn hwy hwy n'mrwn bryth' wbklhyn mrqdth' shwq' bklhwn khylthn' 'lh' mry' 'mr dhkn' mTl
Therefore Yahweh, the God of Armies, the Lord, says: “Wailing will be in all the wide ways. They will say in all the streets, ‘Alas! Alas!’ They will call the farmer to mourning, and those who are skillful in lamentation to wailing.

ܘܒܟܠܗܘܢ ܟܪ̈ܡܐ ܡܪ̈ܩܕܬܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܥܒܪ ܐܢܐ ܒܓܘܟܝ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ
mry' 'mr bgwky 'n' debr mTl mrqdth' krm' wbklhwn
In all vineyards there will be wailing, for I will pass through the middle of you,” says Yahweh.

ܘܝ ܠܕܪܓܝܢ ܠܝܘܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܠܡܢܐ ܗܘܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܝܘܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܕܚܫܘܟ ܗܘ ܘܠܐ ܢܗܝܪ
nhyr wl' hw dkhshwk dmry' ywmh lkwn hw' lmn' dmry' lywmh ldrgyn wy
“Woe to you who desire the day of Yahweh! Why do you long for the day of Yahweh? It is darkness, and not light.

ܐܝܟ ܕܥܪܩ ܓܒܪܐ ܡܢ ܩܕܡ ܐܪܝܐ ܘܦܓܥܐ ܒܗ ܕܒܐ ܘܥܐܠ ܠܒܝܬܐ ܘܣܡܟ ܐܝܕܗ ܥܠ ܐܣܬܐ ܘܢܟܬ ܠܗ ܚܘܝܐ
khwy' lh wnkth 'sth' el 'ydh wsmk lbyth' we'l db' bh wpge' 'ry' qdm mn gbr' derq 'yk
As if a man fled from a lion, and a bear met him; or he went into the house and leaned his hand on the wall, and a snake bit him.

ܗܟܢܐ ܗܘ ܝܘܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܚܫܘܟ ܗܘ ܘܠܐ ܢܗܝܪ ܥܡܘܛ ܗܘ ܘܠܝܬ ܒܗ ܙܗܪܐ
zhr' bh wlyth hw emwT nhyr wl' hw khshwk dmry' ywmh hw hkn'
Won’t the day of Yahweh be darkness, and not light? Even very dark, and no brightness in it?

ܣܢܝܬ ܘܐܣܠܝܬ ܥܕܥ̈ܐܕܝܟܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܐܪܝܚ ܒܥܨܪ̈ܬܟܘܢ
betsrthkwn 'rykh wl' ede'dykwn w'slyth snyth
I hate, I despise your feasts, and I can’t stand your solemn assemblies.

ܐܦܢ ܬܣܩܘܢ ܠܝ ܝܩ̈ܕܐ ܫ̈ܠܡܐ ܒܩܘܪ̈ܒܢܝܟܘܢ ܠܐ ܐܨܛܒܐ ܘܒܫܘܦܪܐ ܕܡ̈ܦܛܡܝܟܘܢ ܠܐ ܐܚܘܪ
'khwr l' dmpTmykwn wbshwpr' 'tsTb' l' bqwrbnykwn shlm' yqd' ly thsqwn 'pn
Yes, though you offer me your burnt offerings and meal offerings, I will not accept them; neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat animals.

ܐܥܒܪ ܡܢܝ ܩܠܐ ܕܙܡܪܟ ܘܙܡܝܪܬܐ ܕܟܢܪܟ ܬܘܒ ܠܐ ܐܫܡܥ
'shme l' thwb dknrk wzmyrth' dzmrk ql' mny 'ebr
Take away from me the noise of your songs! I will not listen to the music of your harps.

ܘܢܬܓܠܐ ܕܝܢ̣ܐ ܐܝܟ ܡ̈ܝܐ ܘܙܕܝܩܘܬܐ ܐܝܟ ܪܓܠܬܐ ܥܫܝܢܬܐ
eshynth' rglth' 'yk wzdyqwth' my' 'yk dyn' wnthgl'
But let justice roll on like rivers, and righteousness like a mighty stream.

ܕܠܡܐ ܕܒܚ̈ܐ ܘܩܘܪ̈ܒܢܐ ܩܪܒܬܘܢ ܠܝ ܐܪ̈ܒܥܝܢ ܫ̈ܢܝܢ ܒܡܕܒܪܐ ܒܝܬ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ
'ysryl byth bmdbr' shnyn 'rbeyn ly qrbthwn wqwrbn' dbkh' dlm'
“Did you bring to me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, house of Israel?

ܐܠܐ ܫܩܠܬܘܢ ܡܫܟܢܗ ܕܡܠܟܘܡ ܘܟܘܢ ܨܠܡܟܘܢ ܟܘܟܒܐ ܕܥܒܕܬܘܢ ܠܟܘܢ ܐܠܗܐ
'lh' lkwn debdthwn kwkb' tslmkwn wkwn dmlkwm mshknh shqlthwn 'l'
You also carried the tent of your king and the shrine of your images, the star of your god, which you made for yourselves.
