But Saul, still breathing threats and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest,

ܘܫܐܠ ܠܗ ܐܓܪܬܐ ܡܢ ܪܒ ܟܗܢܐ ܕܢܬܠ ܠܗ ܠܕܪܡܣܘܩ ܠܟܢܘܫܬܐ ܕܐܢ ܗܘ ܕܢܫܟܚ ܕܪܕܝܢ ܒܗܕܐ ܐܘܪܚܐ ܓܒܪܐ ܐܘ ܢܫܐ ܢܐܣܘܪ ܢܝܬܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܠܐܘܪܫܠܡ

and asked for letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.

ܘܟܕ ܐܙܠ ܗܘܐ ܘܫܪܝ ܡܡܛܐ ܠܕܪܡܣܘܩ ܡܢ ܬܚܝܬ ܫܠܝܐ ܐܙܠܓ ܗܘܐ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܢܘܗܪܐ ܡܢ ܫܡܝܐ

As he traveled, he got close to Damascus, and suddenly a light from the sky shone around him.

ܘܢܦܠ ܥܠ ܐܪܥܐ ܘܫܡܥ ܩܠܐ ܕܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܫܐܘܠ ܫܐܘܠ ܡܢܐ ܪܕܦ ܐܢܬ ܠܝ ܩܫܐ ܗܘ ܠܟ ܠܡܒܥܛܘ ܠܥܘܩܣܐ

He fell on the earth, and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”

ܥܢܐ ܗܘ ܘܐܡܪ ܡܢ ܐܢܬ ܡܪܝ ܘܡܪܢ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܝܫܘܥ ܢܨܪܝܐ ܗܘ ܕܐܢܬ ܪܕܦ ܐܢܬ

He said, “Who are you, Lord?” The Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.

ܐܠܐ ܩܘܡ ܥܘܠ ܠܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܘܬܡܢ ܢܬܡܠܠ ܥܡܟ ܥܠ ܡܐ ܕܘܠܐ ܠܟ ܠܡܥܒܕ
lmebd lk dwl' m' el emk nthmll wthmn lmdynth' ewl qwm 'l'
But rise up, and enter into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”

ܘܓܒܪܐ ܕܐܙܠܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܥܡܗ ܒܐܘܪܚܐ ܩܝܡܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܟܕ ܬܡܝܗܝܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܩܠܐ ܒܠܚܘܕ ܫܡܥܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܐܢܫ ܕܝܢ ܠܐ ܡܬܚܙܐ ܗܘܐ ܠܗܘܢ

The men who traveled with him stood speechless, hearing the sound, but seeing no one.

ܘܩܡ ܫܐܘܠ ܡܢ ܐܪܥܐ ܘܠܐ ܡܬܚܙܐ ܗܘܐ ܠܗ ܡܕܡ ܟܕ ܥܝܢܘܗܝ ܦܬܝܚܢ ܗܘܝ ܘܟܕ ܐܚܝܕܝܢ ܒܐܝܕܘܗܝ ܐܥܠܘܗܝ ܠܕܪܡܣܘܩ

Saul arose from the ground, and when his eyes were opened, he saw no one. They led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.

ܘܠܐ ܡܬܚܙܐ ܗܘܐ ܠܗ ܬܠܬܐ ܝܘܡܝܢ ܘܠܐ ܐܟܠ ܘܠܐ ܐܫܬܝ

He was without sight for three days, and neither ate nor drank.

ܐܝܬ ܗܘܐ ܕܝܢ ܒܗ ܒܕܪܡܣܘܩ ܬܠܡܝܕܐ ܚܕ ܕܫܡܗ ܗܘܐ ܚܢܢܝܐ ܘܡܪܝܐ ܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܒܚܙܘܐ ܚܢܢܝܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܗܐ ܐܢܐ ܡܪܝ

Now there was a certain disciple at Damascus named Ananias. The Lord said to him in a vision, “Ananias!” He said, “Behold, it’s me, Lord.”

ܘܡܪܢ ܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܩܘܡ ܙܠ ܠܫܘܩܐ ܕܡܬܩܪܐ ܬܪܝܨܐ ܘܒܥܝ ܒܒܝܬܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܠܫܐܘܠ ܕܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܡܢ ܛܪܣܘܣ ܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܗܐ ܓܝܪ ܟܕ ܗܘ ܡܨܠܐ

The Lord said to him, “Arise, and go to the street which is called Straight, and inquire in the house of Judah for one named Saul, a man of Tarsus. For behold, he is praying,

ܚܙܐ ܒܚܙܘܐ ܠܓܒܪܐ ܕܫܡܗ ܚܢܢܝܐ ܕܥܠ ܘܣܡ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܐܝܕܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܢܬܦܬܚܢ ܥܝܢܘܗܝ
eynwhy dnthpthkhn 'yk 'yd' elwhy wsm del khnny' dshmh lgbr' bkhzw' khz'
and in a vision he has seen a man named Ananias coming in, and laying his hands on him, that he might receive his sight.”

ܘܐܡܪ ܚܢܢܝܐ ܡܪܝ ܫܡܥܬ ܡܢ ܣܓܝܐܐ ܥܠ ܓܒܪܐ ܗܢܐ ܕܟܡܐ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܐܣܒܠ ܠܩܕܝܫܝܟ ܒܐܘܪܫܠܡ
b'wrshlm lqdyshyk 'sbl byshth' dkm' hn' gbr' el sgy'' mn shmeth mry khnny' w'mr
But Ananias answered, “Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much evil he did to your saints at Jerusalem.

ܘܗܐ ܐܦ ܗܪܟܐ ܐܝܬ ܠܗ ܫܘܠܛܢܐ ܡܢ ܪܒܝ ܟܗܢܐ ܕܢܐܣܘܪ ܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܩܪܝܢ ܫܡܟ

Here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on your name.”

ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܡܪܝܐ ܩܘܡ ܙܠ ܡܛܠ ܕܡܐܢܐ ܗܘ ܠܝ ܓܒܝܐ ܕܢܫܩܘܠ ܫܡܝ ܒܥܡܡܐ ܘܒܡܠܟܐ ܘܒܝܬ ܒܢܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ
'ysryl bny wbyth wbmlk' bemm' shmy dnshqwl gby' ly hw dm'n' mTl zl qwm mry' lh w'mr
But the Lord said to him, “Go your way, for he is my chosen vessel to bear my name before the nations and kings, and the children of Israel.

ܐܢܐ ܓܝܪ ܐܚܘܝܘܗܝ ܟܡܐ ܥܬܝܕ ܠܡܚܫ ܡܛܠ ܫܡܝ
shmy mTl lmkhsh ethyd km' 'khwywhy gyr 'n'
For I will show him how many things he must suffer for my name’s sake.”

ܗܝܕܝܢ ܚܢܢܝܐ ܐܙܠ ܠܒܝܬܐ ܠܘܬܗ ܘܣܡ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܐܝܕܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܫܐܘܠ ܐܚܝ ܡܪܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܫܕܪܢܝ ܗܘ ܕܐܬܚܙܝ ܠܟ ܒܐܘܪܚܐ ܟܕ ܐܬܐ ܐܢܬ ܐܝܟ ܕܢܬܦܬܚܢ ܥܝܢܝܟ ܘܬܬܡܠܐ ܪܘܚܐ ܕܩܘܕܫܐ

Ananias departed, and entered into the house. Laying his hands on him, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord, who appeared to you on the road by which you came, has sent me, that you may receive your sight, and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”

ܘܒܪ ܫܥܬܗ ܢܦܠ ܡܢ ܥܝܢܘܗܝ ܡܕܡ ܕܕܡܐ ܠܩܠܦܐ ܘܐܬܦܬܚ ܥܝܢܘܗܝ ܘܩܡ ܥܡܕ
emd wqm eynwhy w'thpthkh lqlp' ddm' mdm eynwhy mn npl shethh wbr
Immediately something like scales fell from his eyes, and he received his sight. He arose and was baptized.

ܘܩܒܠ ܣܝܒܪܬܐ ܘܐܬܚܝܠ ܘܗܘܐ ܝܘܡܬܐ ܠܘܬ ܬܠܡܝܕܐ ܗܢܘܢ ܕܐܝܬ ܗܘܘ ܒܕܪܡܣܘܩ

He took food and was strengthened. Saul stayed several days with the disciples who were at Damascus.

ܘܒܪ ܫܥܬܗ ܡܟܪܙ ܗܘܐ ܒܟܢܘܫܬܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܝܐ ܥܠ ܝܫܘܥ ܕܗܘܝܘ ܒܪܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ
d'lh' brh dhwyw yshwe el dyhwdy' bknwshth' hw' mkrz shethh wbr
Immediately in the synagogues he proclaimed the Christ, that he is the Son of God.

ܘܬܡܝܗܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܫܡܥܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܗ ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܗܢܐ ܗܘ ܕܪܕܦ ܗܘܐ ܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܩܪܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܫܡܐ ܗܢܐ ܒܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܐܦ ܠܗܪܟܐ ܥܠܝܗ ܥܠ ܗܕܐ ܡܫܕܪ ܗܘܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܢܐܣܘܪ ܢܘܒܠ ܐܢܘܢ ܠܪܒܝ ܟܗܢܐ

All who heard him were amazed, and said, “Isn’t this he who in Jerusalem made havoc of those who called on this name? And he had come here intending to bring them bound before the chief priests!”

ܫܐܘܠ ܕܝܢ ܝܬܝܪ ܡܬܚܝܠ ܗܘܐ ܘܡܙܝܥ ܗܘܐ ܠܗܘܢ ܠܝܗܘܕܝܐ ܗܢܘܢ ܕܥܡܪܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܒܕܪܡܣܘܩ ܟܕ ܡܚܘܐ ܗܘܐ ܕܗܢܘ ܡܫܝܚܐ
mshykh' dhnw hw' mkhw' kd bdrmswq hww demryn hnwn lyhwdy' lhwn hw' wmzye hw' mthkhyl ythyr dyn sh'wl
But Saul increased more in strength, and confounded the Jews who lived at Damascus, proving that this is the Christ.

ܘܟܕ ܣܓܝܘ ܠܗ ܬܡܢ ܝܘܡܬܐ ܥܒܕܘ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܢܟܠܐ ܝܗܘܕܝܐ ܕܢܩܛܠܘܢܝܗܝ

When many days were fulfilled, the Jews conspired together to kill him,

ܐܬܒܕܩ ܠܗ ܕܝܢ ܠܫܐܘܠ ܐܦܪܣܢܐ ܕܒܥܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܡܥܒܕ ܠܗ ܘܢܛܪܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܬܪܥܐ ܕܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܐܝܡܡܐ ܘܠܠܝܐ ܕܢܩܛܠܘܢܝܗܝ

but their plot became known to Saul. They watched the gates both day and night that they might kill him,

ܗܝܕܝܢ ܣܡܘܗܝ ܬܠܡܝܕܐ ܒܐܣܦܪܝܕܐ ܘܫܒܘܗܝ ܡܢ ܫܘܪܐ ܒܠܠܝܐ

but his disciples took him by night, and let him down through the wall, lowering him in a basket.

ܘܐܙܠ ܠܗ ܠܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܘܨܒܐ ܗܘܐ ܠܡܬܢܩܦܘ ܠܬܠܡܝܕܐ ܘܟܠܗܘܢ ܕܚܠܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܡܢܗ ܘܠܐ ܡܗܝܡܢܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܕܬܠܡܝܕܐ ܗܘ
hw dthlmyd' hww mhymnyn wl' mnh hww dkhlyn wklhwn lthlmyd' lmthnqpw hw' wtsb' l'wrshlm lh w'zl
When Saul had come to Jerusalem, he tried to join himself to the disciples; but they were all afraid of him, not believing that he was a disciple.

ܒܪܢܒܐ ܕܝܢ ܐܚܕܗ ܘܐܝܬܝܗ ܠܘܬ ܫܠܝܚܐ ܘܐܫܬܥܝ ܠܗܘܢ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܒܐܘܪܚܐ ܚܙܐ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܘܕܐܝܟܢܐ ܡܠܠ ܥܡܗ ܘܐܝܟܢܐ ܒܕܪܡܣܘܩ ܥܝܢ ܒܓܠܐ ܡܠܠ ܒܫܡܗ ܕܝܫܘܥ

But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared to them how he had seen the Lord on the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how at Damascus he had preached boldly in the name of Jesus.

ܘܥܐܠ ܗܘܐ ܥܡܗܘܢ ܘܢܦܩ ܒܐܘܪܫܠܡ

He was with them entering into Jerusalem,

ܘܡܡܠܠ ܗܘܐ ܒܫܡܗ ܕܝܫܘܥ ܥܝܢ ܒܓܠܐ ܘܕܪܫ ܗܘܐ ܥܡ ܝܗܘܕܝܐ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܝܕܥܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܝܘܢܐܝܬ ܗܢܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܨܒܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܡܩܛܠܗ
lmqTlh hww tsbyn dyn hnwn ywn'yth hww dydeyn 'ylyn yhwdy' em hw' wdrsh bgl' eyn dyshwe bshmh hw' wmmll
preaching boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus. He spoke and disputed against the Hellenists, but they were seeking to kill him.

ܘܟܕ ܝܕܥܘ ܐܚܐ ܐܝܬܝܘܗܝ ܒܠܠܝܐ ܠܩܣܪܝܐ ܘܡܢ ܬܡܢ ܫܕܪܘܗܝ ܠܛܪܣܘܣ

When the brothers knew it, they brought him down to Caesarea, and sent him off to Tarsus.

ܒܪܡ ܕܝܢ ܥܕܬܐ ܕܒܟܠܗ ܝܗܘܕ ܘܒܓܠܝܠܐ ܘܒܫܡܪܝܢ ܐܝܬ ܗܘܐ ܒܗ ܫܠܡܐ ܟܕ ܡܬܒܢܝܐ ܗܘܬ ܘܪܕܝܐ ܒܕܚܠܬ ܐܠܗܐ ܘܒܒܘܝܐܐ ܕܪܘܚܐ ܕܩܘܕܫܐ ܣܓܝܐ ܗܘܬ
hwth sgy' dqwdsh' drwkh' wbbwy'' 'lh' bdkhlth wrdy' hwth mthbny' kd shlm' bh hw' 'yth wbshmryn wbglyl' yhwd dbklh edth' dyn brm
So the assemblies throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace, and were built up. They were multiplied, walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit.

ܘܗܘܐ ܕܟܕ ܡܬܟܪܟ ܗܘܐ ܫܡܥܘܢ ܒܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܢܚܬ ܐܦ ܠܘܬ ܩܕܝܫܐ ܕܥܡܪܝܢ ܒܠܘܕ ܡܕܝܢܬܐ

As Peter went throughout all those parts, he came down also to the saints who lived at Lydda.

ܘܐܫܟܚ ܓܒܪܐ ܚܕ ܕܫܡܗ ܐܢܝܣ ܕܪܡܐ ܗܘܐ ܒܥܪܣܐ ܘܡܫܪܝ ܫܢܝܢ ܬܡܢܐ
thmn' shnyn wmshry bers' hw' drm' 'nys dshmh khd gbr' w'shkkh
There he found a certain man named Aeneas, who had been bedridden for eight years, because he was paralyzed.

ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܫܡܥܘܢ ܐܢܝܐ ܡܐܣܐ ܠܟ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܩܘܡ ܘܫܘܐ ܥܪܣܟ ܘܒܪ ܫܥܬܗ ܩܡ

Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you. Get up and make your bed!” Immediately he arose.

ܘܚܙܐܘܗܝ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܕܥܡܪܝܢ ܒܠܘܕ ܘܒܣܪܘܢܐ ܘܐܬܦܢܝܘ ܠܘܬ ܐܠܗܐ

All who lived at Lydda and in Sharon saw him, and they turned to the Lord.

ܐܝܬ ܗܘܐ ܕܝܢ ܬܠܡܝܕܬܐ ܚܕܐ ܒܝܘܦܐ ܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܕܫܡܗ ܗܘܐ ܛܒܝܬܐ ܗܕܐ ܥܬܝܪܐ ܗܘܬ ܒܥܒܕܐ ܛܒܐ ܘܒܙܕܩܬܐ ܕܥܒܕܐ ܗܘܬ
hwth debd' wbzdqth' Tb' bebd' hwth ethyr' hd' Tbyth' hw' dshmh mdynth' bywp' khd' thlmydth' dyn hw' 'yth
Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which when translated, means Dorcas. This woman was full of good works and acts of mercy which she did.

ܐܬܟܪܗܬ ܕܝܢ ܒܗܘܢ ܒܗܢܘܢ ܝܘܡܬܐ ܘܡܝܬܬ ܘܐܣܚܝܘܗ ܘܣܡܘܗ ܒܥܠܝܬܐ

In those days, she became sick, and died. When they had washed her, they laid her in an upper room.

ܘܫܡܥܘ ܗܘܘ ܬܠܡܝܕܐ ܕܫܡܥܘܢ ܒܠܘܕ ܗܘ ܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܗܝ ܕܐܝܬܝܗ ܥܠ ܓܢܒ ܝܘܦܐ ܘܫܕܪܘ ܗܘܘ ܠܘܬܗ ܓܒܪܐ ܬܪܝܢ ܕܢܒܥܘܢ ܡܢܗ ܕܠܐ ܬܡܐܢ ܠܗ ܕܢܐܬܐ ܨܐܕܝܗܘܢ

As Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, hearing that Peter was there, sent two men to him, imploring him not to delay in coming to them.

Peter sent them all out, and knelt down and prayed. Turning to the body, he said, “Tabitha, get up!” She opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

ܘܐܘܫܛ ܠܗ ܐܝܕܗ ܘܐܩܝܡܗ ܘܩܪܐ ܠܩܕܝܫܐ ܘܠܐܪܡܠܬܐ ܘܝܗܒܗ ܠܗܘܢ ܟܕ ܚܝܐ
khy' kd lhwn wyhbh wl'rmlth' lqdysh' wqr' w'qymh 'ydh lh w'wshT
He gave her his hand, and raised her up. Calling the saints and widows, he presented her alive.

ܘܐܬܝܕܥܬ ܗܕܐ ܒܟܠܗ ܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܘܣܓܝܐܐ ܗܝܡܢܘ ܒܡܪܢ
bmrn hymnw wsgy'' mdynth' bklh hd' w'thydeth
And it became known throughout all Joppa, and many believed in the Lord.

He stayed many days in Joppa with a tanner named Simon.
