ܘܐܫܬܡܥܬ ܗܘܬ ܠܫܠܝܚܐ ܘܠܐܚܐ ܕܒܝܗܘܕ ܕܐܦ ܥܡܡܐ ܩܒܠܘ ܡܠܬܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ

Now the apostles and the brothers who were in Judea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.

ܘܟܕ ܣܠܩ ܫܡܥܘܢ ܠܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܕܝܢܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܥܡܗ ܗܢܘܢ ܕܡܢ ܓܙܘܪܬܐ

When Peter had come up to Jerusalem, those who were of the circumcision contended with him,

ܟܕ ܐܡܪܝܢ ܕܠܘܬ ܐܢܫܐ ܥܘܪܠܐ ܥܠ ܘܠܥܣ ܥܡܗܘܢ

saying, “You went in to uncircumcised men, and ate with them!”

ܘܐܩܦ ܗܘܐ ܫܡܥܘܢ ܒܬܪ ܒܬܪ ܠܡܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ

But Peter began, and explained to them in order, saying,

ܕܟܕ ܡܨܠܐ ܗܘܝܬ ܒܝܘܦܐ ܚܙܝܬ ܒܚܙܘܐ ܕܢܚܬ ܗܘܐ ܡܐܢܐ ܚܕ ܐܝܢܐ ܕܕܡܐ ܗܘܐ ܠܟܬܢܐ ܘܐܣܝܪ ܗܘܐ ܒܐܪܒܥ ܩܪܢܬܗ ܘܫܐܒ ܗܘܐ ܡܢ ܫܡܝܐ ܘܐܬܐ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܘܬܝ

“I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision: a certain container descending, like it was a great sheet let down from heaven by four corners. It came as far as me.

ܘܚܪܬ ܒܗ ܘܚܙܐ ܗܘܝܬ ܕܐܝܬ ܒܗ ܚܝܘܬܐ ܕܐܪܒܥܬ ܪܓܠܝܗܝܢ ܘܪܚܫܐ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܘܐܦ ܦܪܚܬܐ ܕܫܡܝܐ

When I had looked intently at it, I considered, and saw the four-footed animals of the earth, wild animals, creeping things, and birds of the sky.

ܘܫܡܥܬ ܗܘܝܬ ܩܠܐ ܕܐܡܪ ܗܘܐ ܠܝ ܫܡܥܘܢ ܩܘܡ ܟܘܣ ܘܐܟܘܠ

I also heard a voice saying to me, ‘Rise, Peter, kill and eat!’

ܘܐܡܪܬ ܚܣ ܡܪܝ ܕܡܡܬܘܡ ܠܐ ܥܠ ܠܦܘܡܝ ܕܛܡܐ ܘܕܡܣܝܒ
wdmsyb dTm' lpwmy el l' dmmthwm mry khs w'mrth
But I said, ‘Not so, Lord, for nothing unholy or unclean has ever entered into my mouth.’

ܘܬܘܒ ܩܠܐ ܐܡܪ ܠܝ ܡܢ ܫܡܝܐ ܕܡܕܡ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܕܟܝ ܐܢܬ ܠܐ ܬܣܝܒ

But a voice answered me the second time out of heaven, ‘What God has cleansed, don’t you call unclean.’

ܗܕܐ ܗܘܬ ܬܠܬ ܙܒܢܝܢ ܘܐܣܬܠܩ ܠܗ ܟܠܡܕܡ ܠܫܡܝܐ
lshmy' klmdm lh w'sthlq zbnyn thlth hwth hd'
This was done three times, and all were drawn up again into heaven.

ܘܒܗ ܒܫܥܬܐ ܬܠܬܐ ܓܒܪܝܢ ܕܐܫܬܕܪܘ ܠܘܬܝ ܡܢ ܩܘܪܢܠܝܘܣ ܡܢ ܩܣܪܝܐ ܐܬܘ ܘܩܡܘ ܥܠ ܬܪܥܐ ܕܕܪܬܐ ܕܫܪܐ ܗܘܝܬ ܒܗ

Behold, immediately three men stood before the house where I was, having been sent from Caesarea to me.

ܘܐܡܪ ܠܝ ܪܘܚܐ ܕܙܠ ܥܡܗܘܢ ܕܠܐ ܦܘܠܓܐ ܘܐܬܘ ܥܡܝ ܐܦ ܗܠܝܢ ܫܬܐ ܐܚܝܢ ܘܥܠܢ ܠܒܝܬܗ ܕܓܒܪܐ

The Spirit told me to go with them, without discriminating. These six brothers also accompanied me, and we entered into the man’s house.

ܘܐܫܬܥܝ ܠܢ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܚܙܐ ܒܒܝܬܗ ܡܠܐܟܐ ܕܩܡ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܕܫܕܪ ܠܝܘܦܐ ܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܘܐܝܬܐ ܠܫܡܥܘܢ ܕܡܬܩܪܐ ܟܐܦܐ

He told us how he had seen the angel standing in his house, and saying to him, ‘Send to Joppa, and get Simon, who is called Peter,

ܘܗܘ ܢܡܠܠ ܥܡܟ ܡܠܐ ܕܒܗܝܢ ܬܚܐ ܐܢܬ ܘܟܠܗ ܒܝܬܟ
bythk wklh 'nth thkh' dbhyn ml' emk nmll whw
who will speak to you words by which you will be saved, you and all your house.’

ܘܟܕ ܐܩܦܬ ܗܘܝܬ ܬܡܢ ܠܡܡܠܠܘ ܐܓܢܬ ܪܘܚܐ ܕܩܘܕܫܐ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܡܐ ܕܥܠܝܢ ܡܢ ܩܕܝܡ
qdym mn delyn m' 'yk elyhwn dqwdsh' rwkh' 'gnth lmmllw thmn hwyth 'qpth wkd
As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them, even as on us at the beginning.

ܘܐܬܕܟܪܬ ܡܠܬܗ ܕܡܪܢ ܕܐܡܪ ܗܘܐ ܕܝܘܚܢܢ ܐܥܡܕ ܒܡܝܐ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܬܥܡܕܘܢ ܒܪܘܚܐ ܕܩܘܕܫܐ

I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said, ‘John indeed baptized in water, but you will be baptized in the Holy Spirit.’

ܐܢ ܗܟܝܠ ܐܠܗܐ ܫܘܝܐܝܬ ܝܗܒܗ ܡܘܗܒܬܐ ܠܥܡܡܐ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܗܝܡܢܘ ܒܡܪܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܐܦ ܠܢ ܐܢܐ ܡܢ ܗܘܝܬ ܕܐܣܦܩ ܗܘܝܬ ܕܐܟܠܐ ܠܐܠܗܐ

If then God gave to them the same gift as us, when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I, that I could withstand God?”

ܘܟܕ ܗܠܝܢ ܡܠܐ ܫܡܥܘ ܫܠܝܘ ܠܗܘܢ ܘܫܒܚܘ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܕܟܒܪ ܐܦ ܠܥܡܡܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܝܗܒ ܬܝܒܘܬܐ ܠܚܝܐ

When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, “Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life!”

ܗܢܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܕܐܬܒܕܪܘ ܗܘܘ ܡܢ ܐܘܠܨܢܐ ܕܗܘܐ ܗܘܐ ܥܠ ܐܣܛܦܢܘܣ ܡܛܝܘ ܗܘܘ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܦܘܢܝܩܐ ܘܐܦ ܠܐܬܪܐ ܕܩܘܦܪܘܣ ܘܠܐܢܛܝܟܝܐ ܟܕ ܥܡ ܐܢܫ ܠܐ ܡܡܠܠܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܡܠܬܐ ܐܠܐ ܒܠܚܘܕ ܥܡ ܝܗܘܕܝܐ

They therefore who were scattered abroad by the oppression that arose about Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, speaking the word to no one except to Jews only.

ܐܝܬ ܗܘܘ ܕܝܢ ܐܢܫܐ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܡܢ ܩܘܦܪܘܣ ܘܡܢ ܩܘܪܝܢܐ ܗܠܝܢ ܥܠܘ ܗܘܘ ܠܐܢܛܝܘܟܝ ܘܡܡܠܠܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܥܡ ܝܘܢܝܐ ܘܡܣܒܪܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܥܠ ܡܪܢ ܝܫܘܥ
yshwe mrn el hww wmsbryn ywny' em hww wmmllyn l'nTywky hww elw hlyn qwryn' wmn qwprws mn mnhwn 'nsh' dyn hww 'yth
But there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they had come to Antioch, spoke to the Hellenists, preaching the Lord Jesus.

ܘܐܝܬ ܗܘܬ ܥܡܗܘܢ ܐܝܕܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܘܣܓܝܐܐ ܗܝܡܢܘ ܘܐܬܦܢܝܘ ܠܘܬ ܡܪܝܐ
mry' lwth w'thpnyw hymnw wsgy'' dmry' 'ydh emhwn hwth w'yth
The hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number believed and turned to the Lord.

ܘܐܫܬܡܥܬ ܗܘܬ ܗܝ ܗܕܐ ܠܐܕܢܝܗܘܢ ܕܒܢܝ ܥܕܬܐ ܕܒܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܘܫܕܪܘ ܠܒܪܢܒܐ ܠܐܢܛܝܘܟܝ

The report concerning them came to the ears of the assembly which was in Jerusalem. They sent out Barnabas to go as far as Antioch,

ܘܟܕ ܐܬܐ ܠܬܡܢ ܘܚܙܐ ܛܝܒܘܬܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܚܕܝ ܘܒܥܐ ܗܘܐ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܕܒܟܠܗ ܠܒܗܘܢ ܢܗܘܘܢ ܢܩܝܦܝܢ ܠܡܪܢ

who, when he had come, and had seen the grace of God, was glad. He exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they should remain near to the Lord.

ܡܛܠ ܕܓܒܪܐ ܗܘܐ ܛܒܐ ܘܡܫܡܠܝ ܗܘܐ ܒܪܘܚܐ ܕܩܘܕܫܐ ܘܒܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܘܐܬܬܘܣܦ ܗܘܐ ܥܡܐ ܣܓܝܐܐ ܠܡܪܢ
lmrn sgy'' em' hw' w'ththwsp wbhymnwth' dqwdsh' brwkh' hw' wmshmly Tb' hw' dgbr' mTl
For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Spirit and of faith, and many people were added to the Lord.

ܘܗܘ ܢܦܩ ܗܘܐ ܠܛܪܣܘܣ ܠܡܒܥܐ ܠܫܐܘܠ

Barnabas went out to Tarsus to look for Saul.

ܘܟܕ ܐܫܟܚܗ ܐܝܬܝܗ ܥܡܗ ܠܐܢܛܝܟܝܐ ܘܫܢܬܐ ܟܠܗ ܐܟܚܕܐ ܟܢܝܫܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܒܥܕܬܐ ܘܐܠܦܘ ܥܡܐ ܣܓܝܐܐ ܡܢ ܗܝܕܝܢ ܩܕܡܝܬ ܐܬܩܪܝܘ ܒܐܢܛܝܘܟܝ ܬܠܡܝܕܐ ܟܪܣܛܝܢܐ

When he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year they were gathered together with the assembly, and taught many people. The disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.

ܘܒܝܘܡܬܐ ܗܢܘܢ ܐܬܘ ܡܢ ܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܠܬܡܢ ܢܒܝܐ

Now in these days, prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch.

ܘܩܡ ܚܕ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܕܫܡܗ ܗܘܐ ܐܓܒܘܣ ܘܐܘܕܥ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܪܘܚ ܕܟܦܢܐ ܪܒܐ ܗܘܐ ܒܟܠܗ ܐܪܥܐ ܘܗܘܐ ܟܦܢܐ ܗܢܐ ܒܝܘܡܝ ܩܠܘܕܝܘܣ ܩܣܪ
qsr qlwdyws bywmy hn' kpn' whw' 're' bklh hw' rb' dkpn' brwkh 'nwn w'wde 'gbws hw' dshmh mnhwn khd wqm
One of them named Agabus stood up, and indicated by the Spirit that there should be a great famine all over the world, which also happened in the days of Claudius.

ܒܪܡ ܕܝܢ ܬܠܡܝܕܐ ܐܝܟ ܡܐ ܕܐܝܬ ܗܘܐ ܠܐܢܫ ܐܢܫ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܦܪܫܘ ܕܢܫܕܪܘܢ ܠܬܫܡܫܬܐ ܕܐܚܐ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܥܡܪܝܢ ܒܝܗܘܕ

As any of the disciples had plenty, each determined to send relief to the brothers who lived in Judea;

ܘܫܕܪܘ ܒܝܕ ܒܪܢܒܐ ܘܫܐܘܠ ܠܩܫܝܫܐ ܕܬܡܢ

which they also did, sending it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.
